Motel Viborg — Hotel in Viborg Municipality

I stayed at Motel Viborg for two nights because of business in the area. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly explaining me where to get the best food in Viborg, and the room was very spacious and clean. ||||Unfortunately, the motel is right next to a busy highway (conveniently located right at the exit ramp, so you practically cannot miss it), which is relatively loud at night for when you are trying to fall asleep and for light sleepers like me. Also, the curtains do not block quite as much light, and as such I would recommend ear plugs and a sleeping mask for in the summer time - when it stays light out in this area until 11 pm.||||If your room is facing the highway in the summer time, the sun will also be setting facing your window, which means that the room heats up quickly. You will then have to open the window to get some cooler air in, but keep in mind that opening the window gives more noise from the highway.||||If I do stay here another time, I will make sure to remember to ask for a room that is not facing the highway, perhaps that will help blocking the sound. Also, the walls are pretty thin, which means that you will hear a lot from your neighbours...||||Other noteworthy issues are the television, which does not have any channels to offer except for two or three Danish spoken ones, and the mediocre quality of the internet connection. In the official description handed out by the Motel in booklets laying in the rooms, it states that Wi-Fi is only available in "some rooms", which does not make it easy to conduct further business. ||||The location (even though so close to the highway) really does feel like it is in the "middle of nowhere" and I highly suggest eating dinner beforehand, or at least double checking whether the Vietnamese restaurant next door is open during the period of your stay. If not (as was the case for me, due to a renovation), the next possible eating facility is likely to be in Viborg, a good 20 minutes drive.||||All in all: a nice, simple place with nice staff and good breakfasts, that is great for a one night's stay - especially if you arrive later in the evening and are on the road again the next morning. I probably will not be staying here again for more than one night consecutively, simply because there are no eating facilities around (other than the - in my case closed - restaurant) and because there is not much to do in the evening. Bring a good book if you do not want to be dependent on the TV or the internet. Also, food in the rooms is forbidden, so with the restaurant closed there is also no possibility of...

We stayed at motel Viborg for one night. At first I was a bit worried because it is close to a busy road, but it is slightly set back, so the noise didn't disturb our sleep at all. The room was basic but very clean and spacious, and there was seating outside which we used to enjoy the last of the evening sun watching the goats and ponies in the field next door. ||There isn't very much near by and we didn't fancy any more driving so we reluctantly went to the Vietnamese restaurant next door, and I'm so glad we did because it was fantastic! We are both vegetarians and there was nothing on the menu that we could eat, but the owner was really helpful and they created a gorgeous meal for us based on a few ideas about our likes and dislikes. The meal cost just over 200 Danish Kroner for two people, including two beers, which we thought was great value. We had a lovely time and got lots of helpful tips about places to visit near by from the owner, who couldn't have been nicer. It's worth noting that the restaurant closes at 8pm on some evenings, so go early to avoid disappointment.||We were pleasantly surprised again the next morning by the quality of the breakfast on offer at the motel, which was far nicer than most hotel breakfasts. There was a great mix of beautiful fresh breads, cheeses, meats (we didn't try those!), nuts, fruits, cereal, yogurts and juice in a very relaxed environment, all hosted by a very helpful lady who did everything she could to make us welcome.||Overall it was a lovely stay, and the highlight of it was the friendliness of the welcome and the quality...

We spent a night here, as a small get-a-away.||At 12:30 the owner called me, and said that the reception would close now, but that our room was ready. She told me where she hid the key, and said that I should just call back if I had any questions at all.||We arrived at around 16:00, and found the key in the agreed hiding place.||||When entering the room, we were very impressed. This motel is definitely better than two stars, and should be classified as hotel in my opinion.||||It's located right next to highway A26, but the room is sound insulated, so no noise from the highway found it's way inside. The upside to this location, is that you easily find it, and if you're travelling through Jutland, you waste no time looking for the place. It's right at the off ramp.||||The breakfast was also very good.||A large selection of cereals, bread, yogurts and much more. It's very well comparable to the breakfast buffet in larger hotels.||||Best of all, the value-for-money ratio is very good. DKK 595 (app. 79€) for two persons in a double room, with private bath and own parking space, including a large breakfast is a very competitive price in Denmark.||||Next door to the motel, there is a small Vietnamese restaurant. It's nothing fancy, but you get a nice dinner. Dinner Buffet for two persons including a coke and a beer was DKK 220 (app 29€).||||We would not hesitate going to Motel...
