Hotel Kong Valdemar — Hotel in Vordingborg Municipality

Please temper your expectations with this hotel...

We ran out of options and ended up staying here, the owner is a very, very friendly man. He's welcoming, warm and very nice. My compliments to him.

The hotel itself though is just way, way past it's time. It looks and feels like the 60s, our room had leakage marks on one of the walls, the floors creak with every step and you can hear someone on the toilet 3 rooms away.

Now, all of this could be forgiven if the price was cheap, sadly, it's not. We payed just shy of 1000 kronen for a night, which it is just simply not worth, not in any economy.

One thing I can't forgive, even if it were free, was the state of the bathroom. It's old, there's rust everywhere and the towels provided were dirty and smelled like they'd been there for a while. The air exhaust also didn't work. Making the entire room smell like a swamp and allowing black mold to grow in between the tiles and around the shower cabin.

The hotel also seems to be home to a whole bunch of foreign workmen who all park their vans on the parking lot. They all leave at ~05:00, speaking loudly and making quite a lot of noise. So be prepared to rise and shine early! The place does offer breakfast though, so if you're really trying to get as much out of it as you can, there's that.

Sadly there was nobody at the desk when we came to return the keys, otherwise we would've given this feedback in-person. I hope the owner somehow gets the chance to turn this into a nice, modern hotel. Because you can tell he has passion for his job. Right now however, I can't recommend...

When booking this room I was looking to stay in Vordingborg, and this was the only "real" hotel.||Paying almost dkr. 900,- per night seemed reasonable as it included "Hot and Cold breakfast". ||Check-in was ok, but easy to see it was very old not maintained hotel... Same experience coming into the room, but it was still looking cozy and clean.||We asked to buy two bottles of beer in the evening, and got served two which were warmer than the room temperature, which really don¨t say much as the whole reception area was extremely cold. The receptionist was also wearing a big jacket.||We went to bed and found a nice comfortable bed, very nice.||Next morning at breakfast, it was again extremely cold, we had to wear jackets while we were eating.||The "hot" breakfast were ice cold boiled eggs.||Extreme disappointed in this stay - only thing that liftet it from a 1 to 2 was that the room were clean and bed was nice.||MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE FOR...

A fearly worn down Hotel, the only! center hotell in Vordingborg. ||It has probebly seen its best Days.....||Pricewies it should be a bit cheeper!!!! OK, standard Room, A lot of creaking floors. ||Good bed-comfort. Standard breakfast, nothing extra. Free Parking and WiFi. working good! Big plus Central location, near to all/the few restaurants, and shops + "Gåsetårnet" the Castle Ruin and local Old museum. Not so much to do in Vordingborg althoug a god starting point for...
