Møns vandrerhjem — Hotel in Vordingborg Municipality

The hostel was clean and quiet and had a couple of nice public rooms for sitting and a seemingly well-equipped kitchenette (which we didn't use). I don't know if the building has been a hospital or a school earlier, but it definitely had a retro feeling especially in showers and wc's - they were old (separate switches for hot and cold water etc.), but clean and well-functioning, so not a problem, just a cute feature.||Make sure to inform them if you are planning to arrive late. We arrived at 9 pm or so (this was just a pit-stop for us on our way from Sweden to Germany), and didn't realize to call and agree about it, we only mentioned it in our reservation online. They had left our room key on a cart in the hallway, and even though it was in an envelope with our name clearly on it, we managed to miss the whole thing and had to bother the hostel keeper by calling that late. She came to show us the keys (apparently lives in the same building), but was understandably less than happy to do so that late in the evening.||Otherwise, our stay was smooth. We did not have breakfast there so no comments on that. The best thing about the place is definitely the nature; a trail to Mons klint (~5 km) leaves right from the corner of the building. We visited the cliffs by car in the morning so at the hostel we only had a brief evening walk, not the whole trail, but it was nice as well with views on the pretty Danish...

Остров Мён - был конечной точкой нашего мото-путешествия из Москвы в Данию. Мы решили задержаться там чуть дольше и отдохнуть от дороги, которая была щедра дождями и немного утомила. Бронь сделали заранее, за пару месяцев, так как этот островок очень популярен у местного населения и найти свободные варианты летом - не просто. Сразу скажу, что шикарных отелей там нет, там все просто, и основная цель прибывших - это общение с природой. Мы знали что сняли номер с удобствами на этаже, и это нас ничуть не смущало) .Мы ехали смотреть меловые скалы, которые образовались из меловых отложений, находившихся на дне Балтийского моря более 70 миллионов лет назад. В результате огромного давления ледников. А все остальное для нас было на втором плане. Прибыли ко времени заселения, купили белье, сами его одели, многие путешественники привозят все с собой. Обстановка скромная, две двухэтажные деревянные кровати, линолеум, деревянный стол, раковина в углу и шкаф, ничего лишнего. Спать было вполне удобно, душевая и туалет отдельно для мужчин и женщин, сколько раз ходила принимать душ, ни разу не видела чтобы там кто то еще мылся, даже кафель был сухой. Это меня очень даже устраивало). Хозяева приятные и приветливые). Запомнился вкусный, свежий завтрак, особенно горячий хлеб, который они сами пекут, все очень мило). Видно было,что россияне там бывают не часто, точнее - никогда, парочка байкеров с непонятными номерами, вызывала неподдельный интерес. Спасибо этому замечательному месту. Этой нетронутой природе и удивительно красивым меловым скалам, которые в солнечный день ослепляют своей белизной. Это умопомрачительное сочетание белых скал, голубого неба,моря и зеленого букового леса , этот наполненный морем воздух, который опьянял своей чистотой.... Крупные вулканические камни "поющие" под ногами, огромные сухие корни деревьев ,все это останется в моем сердце, как милое приятное...

This is perfect accomodation if you are visiting Mons Klint and are using public transport. There are 2 bus stops outside the hostel linking you with the Cliffs and Stege (a quaint town that links you with the train at Vordinborg). Don´t be fooled into thinking this is a ´hostel´-I found it to be more like a bed and breakfast with different types of (Very clean!) rooms. It is surrounded by beautiful landscapes-a perfect break if you need to escape.
