So our stay was weird overall. From the moment we checked in we were being pushed to upgrade and buy things. It started with the lady we were checking in with trying to switch us to preferred which is fine but when it took the amount of time it did it got old, then we were introduced to the time share people which you know about, and then while we were waiting for our room to be ready we went down to the beach and sat for around 20 minutes before leaving for elsewhere because of the volume of people trying to sell us stuff on the beach. I feel that's also to be expected but the sheer number of vendors was wild. This continued through our trip as did people from the spa approaching us nearly hourly, the sales of bottle of wine being pushy at dinner, etc, etc. Even when we met with the BD people to arrange our pick up he was pushy trying to get us to sign up for excursions. It just got exhausting telling people no and avoiding them. We were woken up every day before 930 by housekeeping and once by the front desk trying to get in touch with someone else about their departure (definitely not us). We kept a do not disturb sign on the door and one time we think it blew away but after my wife secured it onto the door with a hairbow and it still disappeared. Not to overshare but we sleep naked so me suddenly waking up to someone staring at me while my wife was hiding in the bathroom was a bit awkward haha. Housekeeping also didn't ever bring us more towels, clean the shower, change the sheets, or honestly sweep well. The service overall was kinda hot garbage. There was one time we had one server (Franklin) who was attentive but out of all our meals that happened once. All the other times everyone just kinda took turns and that lead to us getting overlooked a LOT. There was one breakfast we got through half the meal and had to stop because we still didn't even have water, but it wasn't uncommon to start the meal with no drinks or for us to get water and place our drink order (and I'm talking like coffee/juice not like alcohol) and it to just not show up or show up when we were leaving. Overall it was very much the feeling of we were a bother and the staff would rather be doing other things. The food was okay at best and we tried everything we could without being preferred. Breakfast was always weird and like half cold or underdone or way overdone. Lunch was fine but I ended up eating mostly meat because everything was just unappetizing or was very specific. The desserts all had the same aftertaste. I don't really know how to describe it other than it was kind of a chemically taste but it was resort wide. Bordeaux was fine but we had the wine guy asking us about buying multiple times and my mushrooms also tasted like chemically. Portofino my wife's food came out cold and mine was a piece of meat that was mostly fat. Himitsu cook in front of you tables were just loud and the food was okay. Also the cooks were pretty racist. They were slanting their eyes and such when talking with guests and there were a couple of Asian jokes made. Himitsu regular tables were probably the best food we had the whole time even though they gave me the wrong sushi. Room service was like a 5/10 but we also arrange tray pickup like 3 times before maybe housekeeping took them away. I would 100% go back to the Dominican but I think I would rather camp on the beach and eat Wendy's than stay here again. And I reference Wendy's because when we got to the airport we got that and remarked that it was the best food we had in days. That all being said- the pools were great. The room design and layout was good. The area was beautiful. With the beach it it seemed like the floats sorround the resort were keeping in a lot of the seaweed as the water directly outside of them was way clearer, but there's no denying the beauty of the area. I will add we did recently travel to Costa Rica and stay at the Secrets Resort there and it was the same price (including airfare) and both the location and the Secrets there was one of the highlights of my life.

We’re a Canadian family of five – two parents, three kids (ages 5, 9, and 15), and a lot of sunscreen. The lounge, by the way, was a hit with the kids – premium drinks for the grown-ups and donuts and nachos for the little ones! Check-in was a breeze, and we got a mini-tour of some restaurants on the way to our rooms. THE ROOMS – AKA Our Home Away from Home We were hoping for a family swim-up suite, but since those don’t come with connecting rooms, we stuck with the Preferred Family Junior Suites. These rooms were perfect for us – spacious, clean, and just what we needed after a long day of traveling. BUTLER SERVICE – Starring Edward, the Saint Now, let me introduce you to Edward, our personal concierge and possibly the most patient human on the planet. On our first day, we had a little mishap – we thought we’d lost two bottles of sunscreen. My husband, being the meticulous guy he is, filled out a full incident report, only for us to find out later that our teenager had stashed them in his luggage (and of course he swore he’d checked) 🤦🏻‍♀️ Through all of this, Edward was a gem – calm, friendly, and never once made us feel like the bumbling tourists we were. He was quick to answer any questions we had and handled everything with a smile. Edward, you rock! THE BUFFET – Breakfast Bliss The buffet was a hit with the whole family – tons of variety! We didn’t make it there for lunch, but we did enjoy breakfast twice, and let’s just say, no one left hungry. RESTAURANTS – A Feast for Everyone! When it comes to food, Dreams Flora knows how to keep everyone happy (even our picky eaters!). There are six amazing restaurants (not counting the buffet, of course). Here’s the breakdown: • El Patio – Mexican flavours that bring the fiesta to your plate! • Portofino – Italian cuisine that made us feel like we were dining in a cozy Tuscan village. • Seaside Grill – A little bit of everything, and our personal favourite for its delicious grilled goodies. • Himitsu – Asian and Teppanyaki, where the chefs put on a show while they cook up mouthwatering dishes. • Bordeaux – French cuisine for a fancy date night vibe (maybe for grown-ups, but the kids still managed to charm their way in). • Barefoot Grill – Quick and tasty beachside snacks like hotdogs, nachos, chicken, and fries – perfect for grabbing between dips in the ocean. Our family favorites were the Seaside Grill and Portofino – absolutely delicious! But the real MVP? Coco Café! Whether you’re craving a morning cappuccino or an afternoon ice cream fix, this place has you covered. The kids were basically on a first-name basis with the baristas by the end of the trip (not sure if that’s a good thing or a sugar overload!). POOLS AND WATERSLIDES – SPLASH ZONE FUN The pools at Dreams Flora are top-notch, and we definitely made the most of them! Our favorite was the Preferred Pool – it’s quiet, peaceful, and they even had towels laid out for us. The cushioned chairs were a nice touch, and since the pool zigzags around the swim-out rooms, we pretended it was our own personal lazy river. Relaxation level: Expert. For the kids, the waterslides were a huge hit. There’s a height requirement for the bigger slides, but don’t worry – if your little ones aren’t quite tall enough, they can still enjoy the smaller water park with two awesome slides of their own. SPA – My Mom Time Paradise Now, let’s talk about one of my favorite parts of the trip – the spa. The whole experience was like floating on a cloud. I treated myself to a Facial Sea and C plus a soothing massage, and Diana, my spa therapist, worked wonders! She was magical, and I left feeling like a brand-new person. Dreams Flora had everything we could ask for in a family vacation. The resort is super family-friendly, and the staff made us feel right at home. Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying a delicious meal, or taking a wild ride down the waterslides, we had the best time.

Well, where do I start... this trip was an amazing greatest memory ever. My husband brought his mother with us first time flying and coming to a resort and she was in so much aww and appreciated. We went perfered which was our own decision because alot of people had mix reviews and in my opinion I wouldn't change anything. When we arrived tired and hungry we were taken up to a beautiful lounge where we were seated after served some fruity drinks and something to eat and checked in. Waited for our butler.... OSCAR.... he is the most greatest butler I could have imagined he was so sweet and went over everything throughly. Plus every day he text us the days itinerary and tried his best to see us mid day. I had a few issues and he was all over it. And when we had to depart to go to the airport there was Oscar taking care of everything for us. 😊 Oscar keep doing what your doing. Star 5 Our rooms were so beautiful come in and it's big with a bar fridge fully stocked with pop water juice beer and candy bars. We had a complimentary bottle of rum which we took home a nice beach bag. They had a nespresso machine with 4 pods that were refilled when we used them. The bed was huge King size bed and a sofa bed near the patio door. The bathroom was huge shower at one end and toilet at the other with the double sink in between. Nice bath robes to wear with slippers. Our view was so beautiful. Star 5 The World Cafe restaurant was nice you could sit inside or covered outside I loved the breakfast buffet the most cause I'm a breakfast person. But most of the dinners were good lots of verity to choose from. Our host for breakfast Stephy was my favorite she was always so happy friendly to us. Star 5 We had a great time in the perfered adult pool we were in that most of the time, it was so quiet and our bartender Astrix who was so happy and friendly and really on top if everyone she was a fantastic server always topping us up and giving us water if we weren't drinking anything. But they do have a family perfered and 2 main pools, plus a water park with 4 different slides and a little water park for the toddlers. I found the water at a nice temperature. Star 5 The Barefoot Grill was a walk away from the Perfered Adult pool it was so nice they had a verity of food pizza hamburger and fries they had hot dogs but there gross just sitting in a machine they need to be bbq fresh, that's my only complaint. Stars 4 They have 5 Lacart we ony tried 3 steak house was great and the Italian was fantastic our host Alexandra was a sweetheart so happy and friendly wanted to get a picture with us but she was to busy. But try the lasagna it was excelente. Star 5 The beach was really nice the staff tried twice a day to clean the seaweed and the water was warm a little stired up but I heard it's like this in October and November. There is vendors that try to sell you stuff but if your not interested just say no thank. But remember you can bargain with them this is there income. Star 4 Last is the Coco Cafe it is so awesome it's like a little coffee shop and you can get a verity of coffees and other drinks plus some sweets, ice cream and sandwiches. We would grab a coffee and just relax. Star 5 Overall our experience and I mean OURS. It was so amazing and so enjoyable and definitely will be coming back. I forgot the entertainment was fantastic and the show was great it started around 8 with someone sing then later the staff interacting with the guest getting them up to dance as shy as I am was hoping not to be dragged up but George came and asked and I accepted and had fun. Watching starlyn and Vanessa was so enjoyable my mother in law just loved Starlyn . Thanks so so much, Dreams Flora 💖 P.S. I have to say is we had a late departure but had to be out of our rooms at 1pm and didnt get picked up till 445pm. They had these showers rooms you could use and the were so nice and clean I was impressed. 👍

✍🏻 A bit of a mixed review I’ll admit. We’ve done lots of 5* AI resorts in both the Caribbean and Europe, and this is not on par with some of them.|🌴Resort - is beautiful! Lovely setting, well kept, totally tropical. Reminded us a lot of Mauritius. The staff work hard to keep it clean and well maintained.|🛏️ Room - We upgraded to preferred on arrival, but not the bedroom as there was no availability. However our room for the four of us was great! Really good size. Nice sofa area and separate bar stall area too. Large bathroom with separate toilet. Loved these robes and slippers and the intense stick in the bathroom too. I was surprised however that the family room was so close to the entertainment! (Block 13). We could hear it every night! Not ideal for families.|💁‍♂️ Preferred - We upgraded at resort. There were some bonuses - the seaside bar and grill for breakfast was definitely the best, followed by the preferred pool. I feel our butler could have been more visual having seen how others were like visiting the pool everyday etc and a a few requests took a few days (like the preferred tote bag).|💦 Pools - We used the preferred and water park. We liked the preferred pool as it was quieter and close to the seaside bar which was a bonus. The watersides are good fun but wouldn’t spend more than an hour there at a time. I found on the racing slides, they hurt my back so recommend a rash vest if going on that one. It’s well run and the life guards were good. The adults only pool is smaller and quieter but the staff didn’t come around and take your drinks order, you had to go to the bar.|🥧 Food - as someone with dietary requirements I found the buffet extremely hard to eat at. No signage and no one seemed to know what was in what when I asked. I was also surprised at how small the buffet was for such a large resort! The smallest I’ve seen! The restaurants were easier as they had dietary symbols on the menus and some alternatives, like gluten free pasta at the Italian. But still a bit hard. Also a bit repetitive, only eating fish, it was salmon at most restaurants and mostly undercooked too.|🍴Restaurants - Our favourite was the seaside grill, especially for breakfast, so nice to eat there every morning, lovely sea breeze too. I was surprised there was no booking system except for the Habachi. The Habachi show felt a bit rushed but the food was nice. Also was unaware that the Bordeaux restaurant was adult only.|☕️ The CoCo cafe was good, especially the first few mornings when we were awake early with jet lag! The banana bread is delicious!|🏖️ Beach - Yes the Sargussum is bad. They clean and clean it. The smell some days was pretty rancid. By day 6 they had really cleaned it and it was the best we’d seen but still there was seaweed and the water was murky. The sand is lovely, white and clean. There were people on beach that were pushy trying to sell excursions.|🧖‍♀️Spa - We used it day two for my daughter to get braids but by the next day three had fallen out. We went back and they redid them and they are much better. I had a facial and the hydro experience. It was very relaxing, however would’ve liked some time to lay and enjoy the serenity before/after treatment.|🛣️ Excursions - My husband and children used Sea Pro and completed their PADI after having a complimentary try at scuba diving in the pool. They enjoyed it and the instructor, Jennifer, was nice. Other than that we didn’t do any excursions. |☎️ Concierge - I visited for assistance with the airport but it was all very relaxed and they ended up not being able to help so bit of a waste of time.|🛍️ Shop - Well stocked but expensive! Was surprised there was no mozzy repellent.|💁‍♀️ Staff - again, mixed. Mostly were welcoming and helpful, others I felt like I was an inconvenience to them or they didn’t want to be there. We tipped and spoke our best, basic, Spanish too. Some really stood out as they were great though.|🪰 Flies/Mozzies- there seemed to be sooo many flies! By the sun loungers, by the food, it wasn’t pleasant. There are Mozzies! By day 3 I’d got about 10 bites|Would I come back? No. But I like going to new places. However, for example I would go back to Jamaica…so gives...

⭐ Dreams Flora Resort – Mixed Experience (Pre- and Post-Travel Review)|Pre-Travel (Written 11 October 2025)||I’ve stayed with Dreams Resorts before, including in the Dominican Republic, and have always had great experiences — which makes this situation all the more disappointing.||I’m due to stay at Dreams Flora soon and have contacted the resort on four separate occasions with a simple request: that our room comes with two queen beds instead of one king. I initially made this request at the time of booking (back in March) and followed up multiple times — most recently in October, the same month as our stay.||As of today, I’ve still not received a single acknowledgment or reply from the hotel — not even a basic confirmation that the request is being looked into.||I sincerely hope this lack of communication is not a sign of things to come, as I’m celebrating my 50th birthday on this trip with a longtime school friend.||I’ll be posting a second review after the holiday, and I truly hope I’ll be able to report a much better experience once we arrive. So far though, I would suggest not to raise your hopes when making contact via email — as the service is very poor and could vastly be improved!||Post-Travel (October 2025)||Unfortunately, the disappointment continued on arrival. At check-in, my travel companion and I were left waiting over two hours for our room, eventually gaining access after 6:30 p.m. (rooms are vacated from 12 p.m.). The front desk advised that the room — which was supposedly ready — needed cleaning. Understandable, but given the turnaround time, this should have been completed much earlier. Another couple with two young children faced the same issue that day. Not a great start.||Once we finally got into our room, I was pleased to find it clean, well-presented, and comfortable. The layout with two sinks, a separate WC, and sliding doors was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable, the minibar was fully stocked, and water was replenished daily. I particularly appreciated the workstation with plenty of power points, and the large TV. The balcony was on the smaller side, but the view was lovely. Dreams might consider adding mosquito netting to the balcony doors — it would be great to enjoy the sea breeze without worrying about bites.||Service overall was good, with special recognition for Edwin at Patio 2 Bar and Marolyn at the World Café — both went above and beyond, showing genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Vanessa and the entertainment crew also did a fantastic job. However, I was disappointed by Katherine at the front desk, whose curt attitude left a negative impression. When I requested a late checkout (given our delayed check-in), I was surprised to find her unwilling to accommodate even a 1:00 p.m. extension — instead, she “negotiated” a 12:30 p.m. checkout. After celebrating a milestone birthday and waking early for a beach run, that extra time would have been a small but meaningful gesture.||The food was a little hit-and-miss. I enjoyed the Japanese restaurant and the lively entertainment it offered, as well as the dessert selection in the World Café and the excellent breakfast choices. However, some menu items lacked balance — for example, one slice of pizza was absolutely doused in chilies (a light sprinkling would’ve been plenty!).||Overall, I’ve visited Dreams Resorts for nearly ten years — from Punta Cana to Mexico and Europe. The gym here is fantastic, and the resort itself has a lot of potential. But the poor communication before arrival, delayed room access, and lack of flexibility or warmth from some staff really detracted from what should have been a special 50th birthday celebration.||Dreams Flora could easily be on par with the brand’s other properties if they paid closer attention to detail and staff attitude at the front desk.||Lastly, I’ll say this: guests shouldn’t be concerned with how many people a resort needs to serve — our concern is simply getting the experience we’ve paid for. If you can’t manage large numbers effectively, then focus on fewer guests and deliver the exceptional service Dreams...

I would probably give it 4.5 if there was an option. We are from London and just returned from 9nights vacation with our 1.5 year old. We booked preferred club double garden view room. Prior to arrival, we asked to change our room to king as our son sleeps in our bed and it was ready for us on arrival which was amazing. The room was comfortable , the bed was enormous and really good, it felt a bit like they ran out of money when renovating the bathroom a little bit but everything worked and was clean. Shower pressure was really good and temperature was great, we didn’t even need a kettle to warm up baby bottles as water from sink was roasting. The resort grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. Beach was very nice and super clean, small amount of seaweed was cleaned every morning. The resort has huge numbers of staff ensuring guests are looked after. Against some odd comments I read prior to going, vast vast majority spoke a very respectable level of English, we had no trouble communicating at all. The resort has an app that allows you to make bookings or order room service so you don’t even need to phone if you don’t want to. With regards to preferred club, the a la carte restaurant for lunch was totally worth the upgrade, also a separate quiet area of the beach and location of rooms close to the beach. Preferred Lounge was a major let down, check in was nothing special (we weren’t even offered a welcome drink) but we could go up to the bar and get one ourselves, the supposedly premium drinks selection had nothing premium about it, cocktails were probably the worst we had on the whole resort and food/snack selection was not nice, ultra processed junk or same sandwiches you get in the coffee shop. We are fussy eaters and we found the food at the resort overall to be quite decent for all inclusive, it was not as nice as the Hyatt (expectedly as Hyatt has a much higher price tag) but it was much better than excellence el Carmen, where we moved out from because we really didn’t like the food. The only thing I’d say is I would have liked kids corner to be healthier, I understand that most kids just want nuggets and chips and ice cream but I wouldn’t feed my child that, our son mostly ate from the main buffet or preferred lunch restaurant and that was ok but obviously impossible to control level of salt intake. My main comment would be about drinks, first, every bartender makes them their own way, often loaded with sugar syrup or just have obscene amount of alcohol in it, I feel staff should be trained to make drinks one way and follow some kind of recipe/guideline for measurements as there is none. In the end, we mostly opted for simple drinks like aperol spritz or wine as most cocktails were just not nice. I should say however that Jose the preferred pool bar and Jessica at the pop up bar in front of Asian restaurant made lovely cocktails and listened to our requests, so special thank you to them. We would like to particularly thank restaurant manager Jose who was so lovely to us, catered for all our requests and brought my son avocado every time as he loves those. He was by far the star of the service we had. Overall, service was really good. Special thanks to our butler Mariel, she was fantastic and attended to all our requests and our made Katherine who made our room sparking every day. My son got sick whilst we were there with strep, I really don’t think it had anything to do with the hotel was either airplane or another child that he played with. We went to see the doctor at Hospiten clinic on site, I can’t remember his name but he straight away identified that my son had sore throat and recommended that we don’t wait long if he doesn’t improve and take him to main clinic in Bávaro. We ended up going same day as he took ill, they took blood tests and put him on antibiotic straight away and he was more or less fine within 24 hours. Mariel asked about him every day and asked if we had special request so not much else we could ask for. I would definitely recommend this resort, we had a great...
