It is an excellent place to stay with family and friends all day long, with well-maintained pool, green places, playground, restaurant, bar, excellent typical dominican food, and more.

You have got to be kidding when I read these reviews that claim this place is so awesome, which is why I planned my vacation around staying at this so--called retreat. First off, this place is at the bottom of the barrel as far as clean and there isn't everything there that one would need. There is NO WI-FI and hot water is not available. It is not quiet, trucks are struggling their engines up the mountain 24-7 and the loud beer bottle collecting men come in before sunrise. I am glad I brought my own pillows and sheets, the ones on the bed were not fit for animals to sleep on. We signed up for 3 nights and 2 of the 3 nights were spent in the total dark and sweating due to the power outages, and there aren't any generators or back up systems in place. We wanted our money back because no one wanted to help us resolve our problems with the villa and we were told; "NO REFUND". So we had to sweat and take cold showers and spray our bodies with insect repellent before bed each night as there weren't any screens on the windows. The refrigerator was not working and we lost many foods we bought, and the kitchen gas stove was smelling like there was a gas leak, we were nervous to stay but we were without transportation to leave until our tour guide returned from Santiago for us and there is no phone in house or cell phone signal to be had on all of the property. I know, it sounds like a vacation horror story, but that is indeed what it was! The walls were covered with paint chipping and falling off, the cable was rigged from some pole that looked like it was stolen cable, but we couldn't get a good picture either, so stolen cable or not, we didnt have any cable to watch the weather or news. There are sick and half dead dogs on the property and we had to keep our dog in the villa as those sickly dogs were trying to attack her. The lady owner talks a good fancy talk, but beware, she knows once she takes your money, and it's always CASH, she knows that if you don't like your stay, just leave, NO REFUNDS!! The toilets had barely enough pressure to flush and the floors were so dirty that the bottom of my feet from walking from the shower to my bed (6 feet) were jet black filthy! I saw the cleaning lady moping with black dirty water that smelled like old mop water, this must explain why someone had to go into our unit before we got to even see it and spray a whole can of air freshener throughout the villa, it was also to MASK the smell of mildew and harsh bathroom smells of urine that was still in the tile grout from the last visitors. That air freshener was so strong that I came out of the villa choking and asked if someone would please open the villa to allow for fresh air and the chemicals of that spray to clear out of the villa. I have allergies and asthma and this was a nightmare for me! Also, there is a staircase that leads to the upstairs bedrooms, there are no handrails and the steps are not wide enough to steady you feet, they are also steep and turn at the second landing into thin pie-shaped steps and I took a very bad fall there in the middle of the night going down to the kitchen to get a drink of water. There is hardly anything provided, you are completely on your own as far as toilet paper, dish liquid, soaps and shampoos. They don't make it easy for you to cook there as they want you to spend big money in their restuarant! We were checking out and we were held back by a security guard with a large shot gun and a security gate, we were told that someone needed to check the inventory of the unit before we could be released. Can you believe that? Unreal. Word to the wise; DON"T STAY THERE! Go to Hotel Gran Jimenoa, it's cheaper and first class service and accomodations! The people were so helpful with everything we felt like we had been rescued from hell when we called the Hotel Gran Jimenoa and they said "YES, Come in we will take care of you, no need to spend your vacation in misery"...they knew what we had been through so we know, WE WERE NOT THE ONLY UNHAPPY people that survived the Brisas de los Alpes!!||Feel free to contact me as I have photos of the mess we survived!||Safe and happy...

I spent a long weekend here with 3 adults and two teenage girls. The check-in was easy and fast. We were given the choice of several large two floor apartments. They were all nice. The equipped kitchen was a big plus. Any items we were missing in the kitchen were quickly supplied to us. The beds were comfortable and the cable TV was perfect for the teenage girls. Each bedroom had a small balcony. The hot water was good though we did loose power each day in the middle of the day.||||It is 15 minutes to a large supermarket (La Sirena) in La Vega and it is 10-15 minutes to downtown Jarabacoa with it's many shops and restaurants. The new scenic road to Constanza starts nearby and the views are stunning and the road is among the best in the country. || ||The pool area was well maintained and there were plenty of seats in the sun or shade. During our stay we ordered food several times from the restaurant poolside and it was very good. The burgers and club sandwich were well presented and there is a nice list of appetizers available.|| ||At night there are two pool tables outside the very nice restaurant. The friendly employees helped with pool lessons for the girls. The bar was a nice place to get a cold beer though they did close by 10 pm if there were not any customers.||||One of our favorite things was to take a walk around the grounds. It was very quiet and peaceful. There are many privately owned properties along the roads. The security is excellent.||||All of the employees were exceptionally nice. We cannot...

We stayed at the Brisas de los Alpes for four days in April and it was excellent. It is very peaceful and secure with only the sound of birds in the morning. The two bedroom apartment came with a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a spacious balcony. There was a/c in the bedroom and cieling fans throughout. Our two story apartment was extremely spacious with a large HD flatscreen TV ( I believe it was satelite). The bedrooms also had small balconies with chairs for enjoying the mountain breezes. The property is very attractive with a very clean pool, a childrens pool, and a childrens playground. The restaurant was very good with a full bar and very helpful and friendly staff. There are also two pool tables for diversion. It rained for two days while we were there and we were still very comfortable and never bored. It is located about halfway on the road between La Vega and Jarabacoa. It is about a 15 minute ride to a very large grocery/department store, La Sirena, in La Vega. It is a 15 minute ride to Jarabacoa with the beautiful waterfalls. If you are looking for discos and nightlife it may not be for you but if you want a peaceful beautiful place in a great location in the mountains than I highly recomend Brisas de los Alpes. The prices are excellent for a place of this quality. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly and they both speak english. I plan to return soon and spend some time exploring the area and sitting...
