We just got back from a week stay here. We went for a 40th birthday and our group included eleven adults, two kids (six and eight) and a baby. We loved this hotel. The owners are friendly and accommodating. They arranged a special birthday dinner, a cake and even went out and bought flowers per my request. They were fantastic with the kids. I do not remember what I was asking but the owner responded, "Yes, if we can do it, the answer is always yes." ||||The rooms are not fancy but are very clean (I am the kind of person who checks the corners). I loved that they all have a separate living and bedroom as well as a decent sized refrigerator. We had room 8 which had a nice balcony. The rooms with full kitchen are larger but do not have a patio. Rooms could use a few extra amenities. The living rooms have no trash cans. Our kitchen had no dishes/utensils or dish towels - but they did not mind when we borrowed some from the restaurant. The only toiletry provided is soap. They do provide pool/beach towels. As a family group, we were hoping to avoid the prostitution which is so prevalent in Sousa. I feel like we did for the most part, although that may have been because we had almost the entire place rented. I did see a few guests with what I assumed were professional ladies, but it was not obnoxious or extremely obvious. ||||It's about a 20 minute walk from the bigger beaches. It is close to Playa Chiquita but the surf was a bit rough for swimming. ||||Overall a great value and great service. Highly...
Read moreOur family group of 14 ranged in age from 3 to 74 and everyone wants to go back. The property is immaculately kept and the meals were wonderful. The owner,Vadim made sure we wanted for nothing and was always available to us. Safety was never an issue. Because we rented the whole place we had our own personal keg of beer always chilled in the bar area, and the tables there were constantly in use for game playing and puzzles. Vadim thoughtfully had a Christmas tree waiting for us! ||Like others, we found Playa Chiquita lovely but too rough for swimming, so opted for Playa Alicia which is close by and offers inexpensive lounges and umbrellas. Of course the pool was in constant use!||There is not a regular restaurant, but you can arrange to have meals prepared(which we did, and they were great! We had breakfast and dinner and there were plenty of leftovers for lunch) Coffee was good and plentiful.||I rated the rooms as very good instead of excellent because they are not luxurious. However, in a family setting such as ours these rooms would be preferred. ||Vadim also personally took part of our group snorkeling being careful to choose the day/time of day/location to provide the best experience. From our first contact with him his attitude was "I will take care of everything" and he did, from rearranging transportation after flights from the USA were cancelled, to providing a quattro leche cake for a birthday. This is a quality...
Read moreIf you’re looking for excellent hospitality, Hotel Coral Blanco is it! It’s deeper in the neighborhood, about a 10-15 minute walk for food. But, there is a small beach within 5 minute walk that is absolutely divine to watch the sunset. There are waves, so have a healthy respect for the ocean! But it was a small paradise on its own and I didn’t feel the need to go to playa Alicia or Sosua. There is a restaurant in a hotel two doors down that has decent food, but just be prepared to wait a bit if there’s more than one of you or more than one table present. Michael, Braulio (the security), and the ladies make sure to take good care of you; I mentioned in passing that I didn’t sleep great because the pillows were too soft and the next day I had different pillows without me asking. The neighborhood is humble; don’t expect a luxurious all inclusive feel, it’s an authentic experience with amazing people. I felt safe the entire time as a solo female traveler. The breakfast is delicious and the pool is divine. Definitely stay here if you have the chance! Drive slow if you...
