Hotel los jardines — Hotel in La Hispaniola

We stayed here on a Friday night in February 2020. The best thing about this place was the setting — you turn off a paved street onto a rocky dirt road that runs along the beach and the hotel is a few hundred feet down. It is across the street from a decent beach, and the grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped and tended. There is a lovely smallish swimming pool with a fountain.

The people who run the place were very, very nice.

The room (2300 RD$ for 3 people / 2 beds) was decent. The fan and the AC both worked well. There was no hot water, but that seems fairly common in the DR. The room had a refrigerator, and on the little porch there was a propane stove and a coffee pot and complimentary coffee.

The walls were thin and we could hear the people next door talking late into the night and their alarm going off (over and over) early in the morning.

There is an unrelated hotel next door with a restaurant and a human-house-sized cage full of dozens of chattering parakeets that are worth wandering over and...

Highly recommended, just terrific.||Its on a small dirt road just by Coco Mar restaurant. Fine with any vehicle, and only a short drive.||Wonderfully maintained the garden is terrific and there is a small pool and onsite parking. ||Situated near the beach (very short walk).||Rooms are simple however large and well maintained.
