Hotel Marien — Hotel in La Hispaniola

The good things: building seems in good condition, almost like new, the swimming pool looks nice, beds are comfortable, the hotel looks very modern for a small city; all that is enough if you are staying a few nights, but the noise can go low from the traffic to very high when there is a party or event in the swimming pool area all day and night. You have to wake early to get hot water in the morning, breakfast starts at 7am and you can find there is no coffee because somebody forgot something. If you intend to eat in the restaurant prepare to wait, some people order their meals some hours before, they have a la carte menu with plenty options, but it depends if they have chicken, beef, pork, fish... this week they only had snacks. I know it is not an expensive hotel but simple things as having the coffee machine prepared for breakfast time or a pen in reception for signing bills won’t kill nobody. Maybe there is nothing...

I had stay in this hotel several times due to the fact that it was the only place in town that had security 24/7. However, I could not do it any more no matter how secure it is because their is hardly any hot water. The water pressure is not good. When your taking a shower one second it's cold and the next is hot . I spoke to management several times in regards to this problem and also about the cleanest of the place but it went from 1 ear to the next. They really don't cre about keeping the customer happy. Another issue was the poor Wi-Fi but once again they don't care. Besides from that the staff are great but is not to much that they can do if management don't provide what they need to do better for the clients. Basics: El hotel cuenta con cómodos parqueo rampa para discapacitados, a pesar que no cuenta con ascensor, el primer piso está apto para el uso de discapacitados, aceptan pago en efectivo y tarjeta de crédito.

Cons: El interior de las habitaciones muestra humedad y posible filtración en los techos, el servicio es un servicio promedio, la segunda planta no tenía internet cuando estuve hospedado y no se hizo ningún esfuerzo por resolver...
