Los Bohios Campo Añil — Hotel in La Hispaniola

We went there - a group of seven in total including kids - and we were initially okay with Los Bohios, but once we checked in, we became aware of the poor state of pretty much everything; the staff would have friends and family come over for pool parties with very loud music and in their underwear; this obviously prevented us from using the pool and the staff seemed oblivious to that. People that were not guests at the hotel, came and went at their free will, giving us a sense of no security.||||We lost electricity on several occasions and we informed the staff of this and they seemed pretty indifferent and did not give us an update at all on when they would turn on the generator. Once they turned on the generator for a bit, but we were then told that they would turn it off again because it had to cool down (!) and they were going to sleep.||||The grounds, especially around the pool were full of garbage; we could hardly believe our eyes; old chip bags, plastic cups and straws in the bushes surrounding the pool area.||||We were and are aware that it is a not a four star hotel, but to keep it cleaned, tidy plus to be aware of the guests needs, such as having electricity available, access to the pool and the staff being around, would be the least that one would expect. ||||Several times we were looking for the staff and they were nowhere to be found. ||||We decided to check out a day earlier than what was reserved and paid for, and a family of 3 that just arrived from the US the night before we left, made the same kind of comments to us and said there were going to try to leave the next day too.||||It is truly a shame, because the place has quite a potential if it was kept clean and the staff was trained properly. It would actually be a place to go back to, if they upped their game considerably.||||So as it is now; we cannot recommend anyone...

¡UN SUEÑO SINGULAR! ubicado en un rinconcito de Jarabacoa desde el año 2015. Desde su apertura ha estado ofreciendo al público sus servicios de Ocio Medio Ambiental y Ocio Lúdico en la vertiente del Turismo Rural.

Su instalaciones son agradables y relativamente amplias en un estilo rústico campestre que muestra las huellas del tiempo. Además de las áreas de servicios propios de un mini resort con jardines, caminitos pavimentados en concreto, parqueo limitados, recepción, lavados, comedor y una pequeña piscina. Tiene gacebos techados en canas y con hamacas para descansar el cuerpo y hechar una rica ciesta después de una caminata o de haber degustado de la rica comida tradicional de las que se sirve en su comedor campestre.

Su comida es uno de sus sellos distintivos, todos sus platos tienen un sazón campesino, el cual se sirve en una limitada pero rica ofertas tradicional de la comida dominicana (arroz, habichuela y carne de chivo, red, pollo, acompañada con tostones, ensalada fresca, postre y cafecito ¡mmmhj..!; y para la cena o el desayuno, mangu (plátano majado) queso frito, huevos o salami, pescado, jugo de frutas naturales y un chocolatito caliente, son manjares tropicales para el paladar y para recobrar las energias y seguir el disfrute en Campo Anil.

Sus habitaciones son casitas con diseño tradicional realizadas en con bloques de concreto, madera y techo de planchas de metal ondulado (Zinc). Los espacios para dormir son medianos, con baño interno y galería con sillones y mecedoras de palitos. (muebles tradicionales). Su colores son vibrantes y alegres, cada unidad es identificada con los apodos (nick name) de los papas y mamas de los dueños de este espacio ensoñado.

Otros espacios que lo complementa son para grupos que desean hacer alguna celebraciones en particular como: cumpleaños, bodas, aniversarios, bautizos entrega de premio entre otros, en las cuales varias familias o empresas pueden realizar sus encuentros con ciertas privacidad. Sus administradores están constantemente tratando de mantener la lozanía con la que fue inagurado hace más de media década.

¡Me voy del lugar sin haber escuchado en la madrugada las lluvia caen el zinc! Pero, eso será en otro día. Espero que ustedes tengan mejor suerte, si algún dia visitan al Bohío Campo Añil, y no dejen de pedir el tour por el pueblo, tirarse por la cuerda o visitar el zoológico campestre u otras de las ofertas de entretenimiento que se ofrecen en el lugar.

We had a great time at this beautiful family resort. The grounds were very well taken care of. It rained the whole time we were there but the caretaker and his staff made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We decided to eat breakfast and dinners at the resort and it was all very fresh and abundant. Very local cuisine and the farm fresh eggs were my favorite. Our spanish is very limited but the staff was very patient with us and helped us organize an excursion for the day. The hotel is off the beaten path and was a little difficult to find, the locals were very friendly to help us reach our destination. Not a whole lot around the immediate area but a very relaxing resort to just hang out and enjoy the countryside. Overall, we had a great experience at...
