I really wanted this to be a great experience. I work with student groups coming to the island and families and this is a very unique experience for people who are looking to do something outside resorts. I will be home familiar with this hotel while attending Atara’s and conference and my assumption was if they are participating in tourism conferences, they must be prepared to work with international guests who have different expectations. And sadly, this is basically a better Dominican hotel. Good for the price points but a lot of flaws ||First and foremost we arrived at 9 PM after pre-paying for our room directly with them to be told we had no reservation- they agents did a good job of securing us a room not a category that we booked but then in a very Dominican style said well you didn’t pay for 3 adults( I should wear I said two adults and one child age 13) apparently my room rate was missed quoted and they went on to say well. We made a mistake, so will honor the price. Again obviously they’re honoring the price they don’t have the room I booked, and I did not hide that. I was traveling with a 13 year old||We were given a room with two double beds when we have paid for a king room with a twin ||This room overlooked the parking lot and we have been told before him that it might be noisy from the discoteca so we expected that ||The noise was not a problem however, the parking lot lights that illuminated our room till 3 AM were a problem as well as an air conditioner that was programmed to remain at 24° and quite noisy.||The staff at the restaurants were great, and maybe if we would’ve had the room that we booked it wouldn’t have been such a negative experience, but speaking from someone with a background in hotels, would advise the owners invest some $ in technology so when guests book a room, they receive a confirmation immediately that states the room type. And train your staff that when there is a mistake, don’t pretend like you’re doing the cast of fever when it was clearly an error on...

I wish I could give less than one star, to be honest. This hotel is a massive disappointment. It looks nice in pictures, but it is absolutely not worth it. I have travelled to many countries and have stayed in all kinds of hotels, budget chains, boutique hotels, and five stars hotels, and this has been one of the worst by far. For the price is an absolute nightmare.

Here is a list of reasons:

  1. The rooms - they are spacious but absolutely filthy, some of the bedding and mattress had several stains on them. The floor looked like it had never been swept of vacuumed before, and there was hair all over the place. The standing shower had mold around the edges and you could see some hair. When I first got to the hotel I raised to toilet seat and you could see old urine on the outside edge of the toilet bowl. I was there for 4 nights and the room was only cleaned once, and that was because I asked for new towels after the towel rack fell of and the towels were all over the floor. I had to ask multiple times to have it fixed and to get new towels, took them almost 24 hours to bring me new towels. For most of my stay there, the cable service was not working.

  2. The restaurant: The food below subpar to say the least, and very expensive for the place, location, and quality. The prices were equivalent or more expensive than what you would pay in NYC at a Dominican restaurant, how can a mofongo cost the same as in NYC!! Not even their traditional Dominican dishes were even close to decent, and for the prices, an absolute ripoff. If you ask for a water bottle, they will bring you a fancy one that costs more than beer and will say they dont have the regular water bottles, when they actually have it.

The one thing I would say is that most of the staff was very nice. There was one waiter that had a condescending attitude, not sure why, but the...

I don't even know where to begin. The staff was wonderful. The food was delicious. The resort is immaculately clean. There's a little something for everyone to do.

The original plan was to stay for two nights. I stayed for three. I couldn't get enough of the hospitality. Bryant, Victor, Miguel, Suli, Hector and all those I forgot to mention made me feel welcomed. They pampered me. I had the pleasure of speaking to the owner Antonio Marte. I thanked him for all of the food options to choose from, which allowed me to maintain my vegan lifestyle during my stay. However, the only thing that was missing was soy milk. He assured me the staff always kept a stash for him on site. He then asked his daughter, Eunice to let the kitchen staff know to accommodate me upon my request. She assured him, at the moment there wasn’t any soy milk. He then asked her to send someone to fetch a few containers for me. How awesome was that! That’s what I call excellent customer service. Sure enough that very same day I had my café con leche.

I stayed in an air conditioned Superior Suite. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. I enjoyed a hot shower every night. I was able to stay in contact with my friends and family abroad and in D.R. thanks to the unlimited Wi-Fi, not only in my room but through-out the whole resort.

I loved my stay and plan on returning soon to enjoy the new spa and river water fall pool, which is in the works. Thanks you all for a...

Do waste your money here. This place is hard to find even when using a GPS. This place is beautiful. However, the administration had set up to destroy it. Food is not included. If you rent a room you are presented with a menu and if you paid for a day pass there is another menu. You cannon order from the other menu even if you offer to pay extra for they "suddenly run out of everything in it" The food they advertise in the website is "not available." In addition, coffee and desserts are only available to some customers even if you offer to pay extra for it. Portions are very small and poor of those who have children that still hungry. They will be told that "your children already ate." The pools are dirty so much that you cannot see the bottom and they have glass in it. Both of my kids got cuts in their feet. Do not go there. It is better to pay for a resort in Punta Cana or Cap Cana.

Excellent place to stay if you want to see where the locals go for vacation. Americans beware, just as many European places, there is an electricity key card that turns electric on and off as you enter and leave. It takes a while for window AC to cool room down in August. Beautiful mountain scenery. Fine Dominican food. Locally grown coffee is fantastic. Fresh local citric juice. Local driving is terrifying, as local view rules and regulations as suggestions and do not abide by any. People and staff are very friendly but not many speak ANY English, so get used to translator app or make friends with someone bilingual. Still, I enjoyed this stop more then the usual tourist traps like Punta Cana or Puerto Plata. 5 stars if you do not care about soap, shampoo and electricity card. If you are flexible and enjoy authentic cultural experiences, this will be your favorite vacation.

Worst maintenance I have seen in a long time. Front desk employees are definitely not friendly. The green areas are nice. It is a shame because it has potential, but at the moment I would not recommend the place. The restaurant service is not as expected from a hotel. Difference between the food ordered and what you receive id shameful. The room has safety issues with exposed power wires. The bathroom you will have the choice to boil or freeze. Needs work and maintenance!!!
