I had such an incredible experience at Friendly Kite Buen Hombreâit honestly felt more like joining a family than just kitesurfing. From the moment I arrived, Henry went out of his way to make me feel welcome and taken care of. Heâs one of those rare people who genuinely wants you to have the best time possible, and heâll do anything to make it happen.
Eric and the rest of the instructors were just as amazingâsuper down-to-earth, funny, and incredibly friendly. Not only they are super skilled and super talented kitesurfers (just see their instagram!!!), but truly love what they do! You can feel the energy at this school the moment you walk in. Itâs full of stoke, good vibes, and people who truly love what they do and want to share that with everyone.
The best part, the schools has a restaurant on-site, with great food, drinks, and itâs clear that this spot where people are always hanging out! I spent so much time there, chilling, making friends, watching kitesurfing videos on the outdoor screen! If you want to make friends, this is the place to be.
Even if youâre not taking lessons or renting gear, stop by. Say hi. Theyâll welcome you like an old friend and give you the inside scoop on the spot. I arrived solo and left having amazing friends! They're in it for the love of the sport and the community they're building. Thatâs just who they are. Friendly Kite is doing it rightâand Iâm so grateful I found them.
Will be back for sure and excited about checking out their...
Read moreHenry's kite school, Friendly Kite School in Buen Hombre, is an amazing place to learn kiting, improve your skills, learn tricks and jumps, or simply just rent gear. He has a wide variety of boards, kites, and all you need in top-notch condition. The school has a nice relaxing area with hammocks and a restaurant, too. The instructors are all amazing, IKO certified, calm, laid back, joyful professionals. It's fun learning from and kiting with them. They will keep you progressing towards your goals. I've been kiting already for a few years when I first went to Buen Hombre, but I was stuck a bit with transitions. My instructors Erik, Bruno, Henry, and all the other guys were simply wonderful and contributed to my progression that I've mastered transitions, did downwinders, jumps, etc. Buen Hombre is a perfect spot, too. Flat, warm, waist deep water, side onshore consistent wind that comes up in the afternoon, so there is time to sleep in the morning. Remote enough that it is not crowded, but still only 2 hours from Santiago International Airport. The Friendly Kite school guys can also take you on nice downwinders and to kite the 7 islands if you are looking for some more challenging fun! Henry can also arrange accommodation and taxi transport to the airport. I had a very nice time and very good experience and I couldn't recommend Friendly Kite School more. 5+ star...
Read moreFriendly kite buen hombre is by far one of my favorite kite spots. I am an intermediate rider and came here as a solo female traveler and had the best time. I took a few advanced lessons. Prior to the trip I forgot to learn Spanish but that was not an issue as they have a number of instructors who speak perfect English. By the end I was doing tricks that I never thought were possible for me. I met people who were also doing beginner lessons with friendly kite and their progression was so fast due to the flat shallow water, steady wind and great instruction, and most importantly; some of the best gear I have seen at a kite school. The vibes here are so good and everyone is like family. They have amazing smoothies, great food, and a fun bar. Henry, who runs the school, organized downwinders, dinners, guided snorkeling, transportation, and so much more. I was a bit worried prior to going about the need for booties but I didnât wear booties as I was able to ride off to deeper water about 50m out to practice my tricks. I did wear them only once during a full moon kiting sesh with a handful of other kiters that was incredible. I canât recommend friendly kite in buen hombre enough. I stayed for 3 weeks and wished I could have stayed longer. I miss you guys and canât wait...
