Tried to reserve rooms for night of New Year's day (Sunday). Called 3 days prior to inquire. I speak only English, and the owner was obviously limited in speaking English. Tried my best to keep it simple so no mistakes would happen, but....... Ended up asking for 3 rooms, but said I would call back within 24 hours to confirm. When I called back, I told him it would be for only 2 rooms. He seemed upset about this, but ended the call with what I thought was an understanding. He called me back on Saturday evening (the day before my reservation) and asked "when would I be arriving?" He had apparently booked the 2 rooms for Saturday instead of Sunday. He proceeded to insult me for not showing up, and basically called me a liar when I explained that the reservation was for Sunday. I tried to express my regrets for the misunderstanding (saying that perhaps the communication was lacking due to our language differences) but he continued to belittle and accuse me in a manner than should not go unreported. I know many travelers deal with miscommunications and there need not be such arrogant and disrespectful interactions. Just want people to know the character of this owner......if it means anything to you, please consider this when booking a room with this establishment. I have been to the restaurant previously.....it is a beautiful setting, and the food is really good. Just wish the owner was not such as he is!!!!! I ended up with no rooms....had to rearrange my schedule...
