I stayed at Casa Del Suizo 10 years ago with my daughters while doing a trip with GateOne travel. I absolutely loved my time there and found it to be one of the most memorable couple days of my life. My daughters and I loved the hike that we did, floating down the river on the raft that was made and doing the adventure activity. I had remembered how much I loved the food, the environment and just being so one with the Amazon. ||I decided to take my step-daugther there for some nice R&R due to the recent passing of her mother. She lives in Quito, but had never been to the Amazon, so I thought it would be a nice trip to treat her too. I could not remember for the life of me the name of the hotel, but my oldest daughter has an amazing memory and reminded me of the name of your hotel.. ||Well, immediately after reaching out, I got immediate communication back from the hotel offering different packages. I knew we would need transport, and just wanted things to be taken care of, so we did the "All Inclusive" package. Well, I never in my wildest dreams could imagine that we would be given our very own tour guide for 4 days! And, I have to tell you that we had the most terrific tour guide. So, Gus was our tour guide, and he was so full of knowledge and information. I think we talked 90% of the drive to and from Quito. He had such great information about Ecuador that even my step-daughter who was born and raised in Ecuador learned a lot. ||He was very attentive and provided such a great service making sure that we had the ultimate experience there. I repeatedly told him that I was so impressed we had our own tour guide and that La Casa del Suizo really needs to emphasize the fact that you get your own tour guide. He had said a few times "well I texted you that I was your tour guide". Which he did, but I didn't quite grasp the fact that he was our personal tour guide. I thought for sure we were having a driver pick us up and drop us off and then join various groups on options that we chose to do and be lead by people from the resort, not our own personal guide to everything! It was absolutely amazing. ||We did some of the same tours that my two daughters and I did 10 years ago plus new ones. So, this year we did the hike through the jungles with Gus and he extended the hike to this amazing tree where we stood there and felt the energy and I could not stop crying after being there. So powerful. We went to the Shaman which I enjoyed so much, that we went back the next day for a personal cleanse. We also did the animal sanctuary and chocolate place. I have to tell you that I have been to other chocolate places, but this one was so cool to where we got to see the entire process and then eat it as fondue! Amazing!||As last time, I loved the incredible food that was prepared. I loved the variety. I loved all the soups and the white fish that is from the Amazon. All of your staff and chefs are absolutely incredible. We decided to do a massage every night that we were there and the experience was beyond words. Very relaxing and amazing views! The full package! || I was impressed the 1st time I went to your hotel 10 years ago, but somehow this recent experience out -did the first experience. My daughters and I and their spouses plan on repeating this trip in a year or two when my step-daughter gets married. When I left that Sunday, I didn't say goodbye, I said "I will see you again soon"||Thank you for providing us with some memorable amazing experience! Until...

Read moreWhat a view! This hotel is located in a beautiful place. You take a boat generally to get there, and the views upon arrival never stop. It’s gorgeous, with views of the Amazon rainforest and the Napo River. I would go back in a heartbeat. We did 3 excursions while there, and all were really good. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The food was always FANTASTIC, truly. It’s buffet style but the food and fruit we’re always so good and fresh. I will note that it’s important for guests to be able to speak Spanish. Most staff are primarily Spanish speakers, so make sure you’re studying up before coming here. You’ll have a much better experience if you can communicate at least some in Spanish. The rooms don’t have air conditioning, though the ceiling fans work well. On days it’s gets to 90 during the day, the rooms can take a while to cool down at night, but they always did. And like another reviewer posted, water is a commodity in Ecuador, especially for tourists who are advised not to drink the tap water. They have water jugs available before excursions at 8:00-9:00, and then again from 2:30-3:00ish. We filled ALL our bottles up at these times daily, and bought water from them if we ran out. It’s something to consider and plan ahead for. I agree that buying large bottles ahead of coming to Casa del...
