Hotel Jardines Ambato — Hotel in Ambato

Unprofessional. I made a reservation in writing via WhatsApp and the attendent told me there was a "confusion" in that I failed to specify that I wanted the specific hotel on Calle Lavalle y Lavayen. He was willing to find me an "associated" AirBNB for the same $20 cost but then when the owner of the AirBNB didn't answer the phone, he told me that is would be $23 instead of $20. It appears that this hotel is willing to take more reservations than it has space available and then effectively operate as a "hotel agency" for the extra guests. When I said this was all very unprofessional given that I had a reservation confirmed in writing, the attendant became very upset, saying that he was not a slave to any "Yankee Gingo" and told me to leave the premises immediately. Be very careful with this location. I have only every posted 5 star ratings on Google Maps but I feel it is important to warn potential guests of the risks of dealing with...

The cottage looks great in the first glance. The garden next to it gives a great vibe. It's not really a hotel it's a house that has a gym and a garden and two little cottages a big strange but the cottages are separated from the gym by a fence and a garden so that's good. Service does not really exist here, they don't provide anything to warm the room, so it got quite cold at night (luckily there was an extra blanket so that was good!). The bathroom doesn't have a hairdryer. The hot water in the shower is a bit frustrating. Only when the stream is low there is warm/hot water. In my opinion it's not worth the price they charge. I loved the room. It was exactly as advertised. It was quiet and clean, and the host was very attentive to my needs. Near a college campus, so there are so many choices to walk to and eat. You dont need a car Also, the mall there is within walking distance. I really loved their food court, so much better food than the malls in the USA, where I'm from. I'm a traveler, and if I find myself in Ambato again, I will book here...
