For a hotel based in the Amazon, I did not have high expectations when it came to cleanliness or keeping the bugs out of the rooms. I had nothing to worry about though!! These guys know how to keep a place clean. We had one cricket in our bathroom - that was all!! The room was spotless and didn't even smell damp. Bed was also super comfy, although the shower's electrical heating looked a little unsafe, it did work well enough.||||The grounds are the real selling point though. Monkeys swinging though the trees as you eat breakfast, a short 5 minute stroll down to the Amazon river where you can paddle your feet in the water, & some lovely forests to walk around, this hotel is relaxing & well taken care of.||||There are some pools, although we didn't get a chance to swim as the morning we woke up a local school was using it for lessons or sports day. The food in the restaurant is average, but at least safe to eat. Breakfast was basic, but the lunch & evening menu was generous. Wifi was spotty - we couldn't get it in our room which was far from the main building. Even in the main building it clearly struggled speed wise, but was useable for text-only. ||||Overall, highly recommended as a retreat from nearby Tenas if you want somewhere close by...
Read moreThe rooms are clean and with lots of space, and the staff is very helpfull allthough some Spanish is required to enable you to communicate your needs. Food is ok, but nothing memorable or fancy. The area surrounding the hotel is a fantastic jungle-like park with monkeys , birds, lots of beautifull butterflies, tons of spiders, ants and other scary stuff. The flowers, trees and plants in general are old and look incredible. Take a walk down to the river and get the authentic feeling that you are truly in the wild.|On the downside, there is no tv nor wi-fi in the rooms, which means you need to go to the restaurant area to establish contact with friends at home. The rooms have open areas under the roof, which makes the rain at night really loud...and believe me...it rains in the rainforrest!!!|There is no help from the staff in arranging trips to see stuff, so come well prepared from home.|Mega plus side is the monkeys that live in and around the hotel.... Allthough savage they are quite curious to establish contact in return for food.|Not many moscitoes here, but there are lots of bugs all around so bring a mosquito net for your bed. And don't forget...
Read moreStayed here in Dec 17 with family for 5 nights. Accommodation was good, clean and comfortable. Food was great (breakfast & evening meals), the staff were very helpful. Having monkeys around was interesting especially the feeding of the squirrel monkeys after breakfast. The swimming pool is ok, but be careful of the boulders; also, access to it was a bit slippery, but they have added additional hand rails. The only down side for us was the noise at night, especially if as we did you get a 5 hour long thunder storm! The chalets don't have windows at high level, only insect screen, so acoustically you are literally sleeping in the jungle! We took some earplugs, which helped during non-rainstorm nights. Also, take insect repellent and insect bite cream. Although we didn't get too many bites, we all did get bitten. Nice place to stay and overall an interesting stay. Although there's no WiFi in the rooms there is a reasonable and free connection in the...
