Hakuna Matata Amazon Lodge — Hotel in Archidona

Where to start ? |The staff were fabulous , genuinely kind , friendly & nothing was too much trouble. The home cooked food was delicious & varied with generous portions. Our cabin was comfortable and cosy with an authentic jungle feeling. Sleeping with the shutters open allowed us to fall asleep in the comfortable beds & spotless linen listening to the rainforest noises and no problem with mosquitoes due to the mesh covered windows .|The pool was idyllic and super for swimming due to its size , but then so was the river ! The hammocks and loungers were perfect for relaxing and bird watching ( especially the humming birds ) in the lush gardens.|The walk in the rainforest with Yaku was the highlight of our visit. He was an indiginous resident of the area and shared his knowledge of the plants and rainforest with humour and pride. It was a joy to spend time with him ! |Our stay at Hakuna Matata lodge was, i think, the highlight of a wonderful & inspiring trip & I would have stayed longer...

We loved Hakuna Matata! Leonardo greeted us at reception and was our host and server for all meals during our two days stay. He was friendly, helpful, and fun to converse with.||Our room was lovely. The two story bungalow was surrounded by lovely jungle vegetation. We were skeptical that our second floor room would cool down enough to sleep at night, but it did. In fact, we needed the provided blanket. The only sound at night is the hum of jungle creatures, and the rain we experienced. We slept so well! The room and bathroom was large and well appointed. We used the attached deck for reading and relaxing. Wifi worked well throughout the resort.||The pool and all of the grounds are lovely, and the water was refreshing on the warm afternoon we spent there. The walk to the river was beautiful.||Each meal was delicious and food was plentiful . Local dishes were a specialty. ||I highly recommend Hakuna Matata. I wish we had stayed more...

Now that I have a little bit of time (with this pandemic and everything) I thought I would take the time to write a review about this place I visited this past november, I know it is long overdue but well I have the time now! I can only describe this place as AMAZING... I went with my family (me, my father and mother). My father is not the type of person that enjoys the jungle or the outdoors ;) and my mother is the type of person that can't be still for more than 5 minutes. Thankfully Hakuna Matata Lodge satistied our every need. My father enjoyed the food, comforness and warm pool while my mother and me enjoyed the activities. I think my favorite one was horseback riding in the jungle, my mother's favorite activity was visting the AMazoonico. I will definately come back, thanks to its staff!!...
