Hostal Rosita Quilotoa — Hotel in Chugchillan

The hostel is good enough. The family wasn't there, but we were entirely taken care of by two young German girls volunteering in the village. Their experiences compelled me to write a review. Apparently the people in the village are not communicative, so they didn't get to know anyone during their entire year there. Given how small/remote it was (and the few travelers overnighting there), it turned out very isolated. Nor were the girls given enough food (they hadn't felt full in a year, just the basic boiled vegetable soup with rice), or warmth (perpetually cold, and they were often sick). Neither of them enjoyed their placement there, and I'm surprised they stuck it out for a full year, given how exploitive it sounded. Future...

POSITIVOS||-Está cerca del camino que lleva al Arenal, un mirador con una vista más hermosa y natural del Quilotoa. ||-Hay cuartos individuales. Hay una bonita cabaña muy amplia si deseas más espacio.||-Está cerca del centro de Guayama San Pedro donde se puede ir al Cañon del Águila.||-Tiene Wi-Fi gratuito. En esta zona donde no llega la señal de celular se agradece bastante.||-Tiene agua caliente.||-Es atendido por una famila. No tiene empleados. Cuando te hospedas duermes junto a su cuarto. En la mañana los ves junto con sus hijos. Eso da un sentimiento único de sentirse en el hogar. ||-Tiene zona de camping. ||||NEUTRO||-El baño es comunitario, creo que la cabaña tiene baño privado.||-La comida es monótona debido a que no llegan muchos alimentos a esa zona en variedad. Abunda el arroz, el huevo, el maduro, la papa y el pollo. Pero está preparada al momento con amor por la señora que generalmente viste con su anacu indígena en una cocina pequeña que trasmite un sentimiento hogareño que no tiene ningún hotel de las ciudades.||-La zona puede llegar a ser muy fría, la construcción de ladrillo no guarda muy bien el calor. Pero lo compensan con gruesas cobijas muy calientitas y una capa aislante hecha rudimentariamente con algo que parece Totora. ||-No hay televisión, aunque en realidad no es un problema porque si estás ahí es para vivir la ruralidad. No para ver televisión. De todas maneras no llega la señal||||NEGATIVO.||-Los cuartos son muy pequeños y no tienen nada excepto la cama. Podrían mejorar poníendo una velador con una lámpara.||-La cama que me tocó sonaba. Era de plaza y media. Estaba solo y no me molestaba. Me parece que otros cuartos tienen literas. We stayed here a few nights ago May 2023, and had a fab stay. The family are super welcoming and hospitable and the room, whilst simple, had everything you need, hot water, an electric heater, a sofa, double beds and lots of blankets.
