We visited during the protests in June 2022. Pablo the owner bent over backwards in every way possible to make sure we got through barricades, past protesters safely, had a comfortable place to stay, delicious food to eat, and an event packed stay at the lodge.

He stayed up till the wee hours of the night to help us get transport out of the lodge back to the airport, and when plans fell through immediately found alternatives for us without skipping a beat. As a result we all made it to our next destinations on time and without any significant hiccups.

As for the regular stay and services provided, the tour guide Miguel was phenomenal. He was extremely knowledgeable about the indigenous people and their culture. On top of that, he was pretty much a wildlife guru, stopping on the trail multiple times to point out rare and unique flora and fauna, and even spotting rare birds and giving us a story about each of the animals and plants we saw.

The food was delicious and way better than we expected for a place that offered meals included with the stay. Each meal was at least a 3 course meal that involved home cooked meal recipes from Pablo's mother. All this despite the fact that supplies were being blocked by the multiple blockades on the highways. Each of the meals provided us an additional glimpse into traditional Ecuadorian cooking and flavors.

On top of all I've mentioned above, there was also a pool, a hot tub, clean rooms with extremely comfortable beds and clean sheets which were a tremendously welcome reprieve from the days hikes and adventures. Each room also came with an outdoor hammock which came in handy during the breaks between activities.

If I could I would give this place, Pablo, Miguel, and all the staff at Huasquila Lodge a 7/5. Highly recommend, a once in a lifetime experience you...

An Enriching Amazon Experience at Huasquila Lodge||Our stay at Huasquila Lodge was the perfect gateway to the beauty and wonder of Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest. Designed to harmonize with its surroundings, Huasquila Lodge provided rustic yet cozy accommodations that made us feel at home in the heart of the Amazon.||||Immersive Adventures and Cultural Connections||Huasquila Lodge offered unforgettable experiences that deepened our connection to the Amazon. Guided hikes through the rainforest revealed fascinating flora and fauna, complemented by our guide’s insights into the ecosystem. A visit to a local Kichwa community allowed us to learn about their traditions and sustainable practices while participating in traditional dances. The thrilling night walk unveiled the jungle’s nocturnal wonders, from brightly colored frogs to the distant calls of wildlife, making each moment a new discovery.||||Exceptional Dining and Sustainability||The dining experience was exceptional, with fresh, local ingredients showcased in both traditional and modern Ecuadorian dishes. We stayed during the protests 2022, and I’m blown away by the amazing hospitality these awesome people at Huasquila brought for our groups. They helped us safely enter and leave the protests, and Pablo (the owner) was a rockstar during our stay. He even helped us find transportation for the way back to Quito. Migel, our guide, is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve come across in my life, and I learned so much about the indigenous people, the plants, animals, and villages through the hikes he brought us to. Even the people who cooked and brought out our food were extremely sweet, and I enjoyed the delicious 3-course meals during breakfast, lunch, and dinner (which are recipes from Pablo’s mom!).

If you’re looking for an unforgettable stay at the Amazon - definitely go with Huasquila. The hot tub was hot, the food was delicious, the beers were cold, the rooms were clean each day, and the people were genuinely awesome. Thank you Pablo, Migel, and the...

The food was not great and the power was turned off by 9pm. If you wanted to drink after 9pm is was $20 an hour to keep the bar open. When the lights went off it was pitch black and dangerous on uneven paths. Thanks for your response but I have spoken to the others in the group and we were definitely told that it was $20 to keep the bar open and $10 corkage if we brought our own drinks in. Also because of the lack of lighting on the path one of our group dislocated her shoulder and had to return to America early , you had the option to turn the generator on while we returned to our rooms but did not. So I think giving you 2 stars for service is generous

Staff was amazing. Service is excellent. Food was very tasty and inexpensive. Breakfast was included. The jungle isn't my kind of thing because I'm not really a fan of bugs but the grounds and rooms were clean. Sometimes you don't get hot water, both my showers were cold but if you wait you might get hot water. Water for drinking in lobby so you can refill your bottles. Night walk was cool they have some huge and different bugs.. snakes and frogs. It rained alot so it was muddy but they give you rubber boots and umbrellas. Beautiful natural surroundings. Nice pool but we didnt have time to use. Staff were awesome.. I need to say that twice

This seems like a nice place for yoga and quiet family retreat. As for the bungalows nice over all but lacking new power outlets take the rest with a grain of salt as we are only staying one night and I’m not happy with the price I feel it is way over priced for Ecuador should be closer to $60.00 a night seeing how few amenities close to zero. You do get a good bed and nice room but I think for the price the lack of good Electric plugs and it lacks any place to keep your luggage open just an open space place to hang up your clothes. Questioning the path lighting did not see any but will find out come night.
