Kaluz Hosteria & Spa — Hotel in Naranjal

There were many things about Kaluz that we enjoyed, especially the friendly staff (thank you, Margoth, for making us feel so welcome!) and the peaceful setting. The proximity to three local hot springs (Shuar, Zhagal and San Miguel) was wonderful, and we visited a different one each day of our stay. The communication with the hotel in advance to set up a driver and day tours was efficient and friendly, and the facilities during our stay were very good (great steam room!). The food was excellent, and they kindly catered for our vegetarian and gluten-free requests perfectly - each of the 9 meals we ate was delicious! One recommendation we have would be to visit during a weekday, as there were very few other guests and (after we asked for the loud music in the restuarant to be turned off) all we could hear were beautiful bird songs and sounds of the wonderful surrounding forest. We heard that it usually gets very busy at weekends - and so we were very happy to miss the crowds and enjoy such a lovely place almost to ourselves! Highly recommended and good...

Intake not organized. Had to walk through mud carrying all our children in the night just to check on when we could have had them waiting in the car next to the building.

Also the girl told us a price on the phone that apparently didn't include the pool and surrounding nature.... Not sure how that's possible, especially not telling us then trying to upcharge once we drove 2 hours in the...

Nuestra llegada al lugar fue adecuada, el entorno natural es muy bonito. ||Los espacios comunes y el lugar en general es descente pero sus instalaciones están descuidadas, lo más preocupante son sus baños. Fue muy molesto tener a perros todo el tiempo durmiendo dentro de los baños de la piscina (olor a perro mojado) o en el comedor durante las comidas. Dan la sensación de que el lugar es sucio y descuidado. ||En cuanto a las habitaciones, son normales, nada espectacular. Los baños, de la misma manera, no cierran bien y sus ventanas principales dan al pasillo lo cual es muy molesto. No tienen televisión ni conexión wifi estable.||La comida estuvo rica, sin embargo no es posible seleccionar los platos a la carta sino hay que acomodarse a un plato común seleccionado para ese día para todos los grupos que nos encontrábamos en el lugar. La atención del personal fue adecuada.||No es recomendable para niños, las actividades de senderismo, cascadas y paseo solo son para adultos. ||En general el sitio regular, pero su relación calidad/precio es terrible.
