Playa Canela Hotel Boutique — Hotel in Salinas

Terrible experience. I stayed there with my mother for two nights and does not worth the price at all. The drain of the shower and basin were blocked and each time that we take a shower was flooded. The beds were too small, but ok. The cushions of the pool chairs were dirty. The water of the jacuzzi was slimy. I mean, you pay a lot for no quality and dirtiness. They have staff but is a hotel that apparently have not work done on this aspects, they need some hospitality training because when I came the woman almost said : what do you want here?. After my stay I realized that my car had a hint, the parking is so small and despite in the description of the hotel include parking, is very limited. |We were the only guest at that time in the hotel but the hospitality was very deficient.|The dogs are nice , I had many in my life and recently passed away my two little Yorkies. To let them suffer with tumors is decisión of the owner but I felt disturbed very much by this besides that the black dog is very stinky and come to the table when you are eating. The car is very cute but also came to our table to eat our food. This is not the hotel that I was looking for and not expect that will charge so much for such a low service and quality.|The cherry of the cake was when my mother and I ordered food to the hotel (this is managed directly from the hotel with some local restaurants), at the moment Of the payment the brother of the owner insinuate that I was not giving him the total amount of the order. This is absolutely the most ridiculous things ever when we were feeling cheated by this low quality and high price hotel. After paying almost 400 € for the stay they insinuate that I haven’t payed 10 $ or so for the food. |For us, absolutely a terrible experience and I will never recommend this place to anyone. We came here after our trip to the Galapagos. Being from California, we thought that costal Ecuador, being on the equator, would be sunny and hot. We found out, that was not the case this time of the year of August. Oh well, the hospitality and warmth from Playa Canela, totally made up for that. ||||First, Cicelia the hotelier, made sure that we were taken care of. From restaurant recommendations, to setting me up with surfing locals while my wife had a message and even personally driving us to a clinic for a COVID test, we were in good hands. They exemplified the boutique hotel experience. ||||Further, her brother Juan, makes the best cocktails anytime you need (we preferred 5:00). My wife had delicious, fresh margaritas out of the shaker while I enjoyed a wonderful gin and tonic. ||||The rooms were very comfortable and done up every day. We travel quite often and love finding a hidden gem, which we have found at Playa Canela. Every morning, they provide a delicious breakfast with coffee that starts our day right. They made sure that we were connected to the best people to make our trip memorable. ||||Last, we 100% recommend this place as a wonderful option if you are traveling to Salinas or La Libertad. Expérience horrible, n'essayez même pas de réserver avec eux... ILS NE SONT PAS SÉRIEUX, nous avions réservé pour 2 nuits par l'intermédiaire d'une agence, donc tout allait bien, nous avions la confirmation de la réservation (donc à travers l'agence), et puis ils ont écrit qu'ils ont loué l'ensemble de l'endroit à une autre agence, mais certainement qu'ils ont loué l'hôtel pour un événement, et c'était plus d'argent pour eux que seulement notre réservation de 2 nuits... et ils ont juste annulé notre réservation sans autre explication que ce message :

Chère agence, j'ai le regret de vous informer que nos disponibilités sont épuisées pour ces dates. Mille excuses, mais une autre agence a réservé et payé l'hôtel entier.

Juste après que nous ayons payé les 50% et que la propriétaire (vivant au Canada) nous ait dit que tout était ok 1 jour avant de payer, le frère avait accepté une réservation complète de l'hôtel, de sorte que notre réservation n'a jamais été vraiment prise au sérieux en passant par une agence sérieuse...

Réellement un MAUVAIS service, et notre agence a dû trouver une solution par elle-même, car ils ont juste rendu l'argent sans nous aider, c'est pourquoi ces hôtels sans SÉRIEUX ferment... tellement mieux de passer par un hébergement Airbnb où votre réservation est en sécurité au moins et votre argent aussi.

Awful experience, don't even try to book with them... THEY ARE NOT SERIOUS we reserved it for 2 night through an agency, so all was okay, we had the booking confirmation, and then they wrote that they rented the whole place to another agency, but definitely they booked an event, and it was more money for them than only our reservation for 2 nights... and they just cancelled our booking with no other explanation than this message:

Dear agency, I regret to inform you that our availability has been exhausted for these dates, another agency took and paid for the entire hotel.

Just after we paid the 50% and that the owner (living in Canada) she told us all was okay, the brother accepted a full hotel booking, so that our booking never was really taken in serious passing through a serious agency...

Really baaaad service, and our agency had to find a solution by itself because they just gave back the money without helping us, it's why those hotels WITHOUT SERIOUSNESS are closing... so much better going through an Airbnb accommodation where your reservation is safe at least and...
