GHL Relax Hotel Makana Resort — Hotel in Tonsupa

My husband and I stayed in the Makana for one week in August. The staff who work at the hotel are terrible and so unhelpful and unfriendly. For the quality of service, this is not a 4 star hotel, I have stayed at hostels with better services and staff.||1. Internet is terrible. I stood under a router and the internet would connect and disconnect. Whatsapp takes so little internet but even that wouldn't connect. Then 3 days in, the internet stopped working. We went down to the hotel and told them and then told us it was our phones and we needed to restart. I work in IT, I tried all the tricks, it was not my technology and it wasn't only one device that didn't work, it was several. For 4 days we asked them to restart the wifi and they literally refused.||2. They supposedly offer a laundry service but absolutely refused to give me the services. I was there principally for a conference and since it is supposedly a 4 star hotel I expected ironing services. I went down to the front desk and she said they couldn't do it. In the beginning they told me they send the laundry out so I asked them for the information so I could go there and see if they could iron for me, I was willing to pay. Finally she told me they do it in-house, she then called laundry and asked if they could iron something. The girl on the phone said yes, but then the lady at reception said, if you can't, I know you are very busy, this isn't important, so not to worry. She then hung up and said they were too busy and couldn't help me. Not joking, I literally took the shirts to the Hotel Gaviota down the street and they ironed them for me. ||3. Parking at the hotel is awful! When you arrive, it looks like there is a house party going on and cars are parked all over the lawn. For a 4 star hotel it looks so cholo!!||4. Restaurant is super expensive and not good!! Prices are $5-$10 more expensive then other places, portions are super small and not good quality. Reading other comments I look some bad reviews and I think that have a lot of arguments to say that, but recently the hotel was bough by the GHL Hotels group. This group manage a lot of hotels like sheraton and Sonesta. During my stay I look that they were fixing and changing some stuff so I think in a couple of months is going to be great.||||Obiously the workers make noise but its ok is not anoying and theye just work during the day so noone is going to bother your sleep.||||The hotel is not bad. Actually I think is a really good option for vacations becaus is located just in front of the beach.||||The food is really good. I taste meat and fish and was delicious. The bad aspect is that the restaurant is really small so I think when the hotel is full of its capacity you will have to wait for a table and for your food.||||||I was there to attend a conference and honestly I wouldn't recommend it for that. The hotel was appealing; however, a lot of little things could have been better. The hot water and pressure worked sometimes. The pool was dirty all the time. It appeared that the filters weren't working and forget about the infinity effect; the water level was always low. My husband took the strainer given in our box of kitchen supplies to the pool everyday and literally strained the crap in the pool. What he strained remained in the same place he left it, all week. Lastly, the restaurant had pretty food but was clearly overpriced and if they didn't have what you ordered, they simple replaced it with something else. Housekeeping did keep the rooms well cleaned.
