I stayed at Fanadir Hotel in Hurghada, and honestly, it was a complete disappointment from the moment we arrived.
🛑 Reception & First Impressions: As soon as we entered, we were met with the rudest front desk staff I’ve ever encountered. The receptionist in the morning (a girl named Sarah) spoke with arrogance and zero courtesy. I simply said “Good morning, I have a booking under [Name],” and she bluntly replied, “Wait for your company rep to arrive,” without even checking or offering help. Later at night, another receptionist (male, no name tag, no uniform) showed the same attitude and complete lack of professionalism.
🕒 Check-in & Room: We waited quite a while for check-in — finally got our room around 1 PM. The room itself was spacious and clean, but there was no mini-bar (not even bottled water). A staff member escorted us and realized the electricity wasn’t working — turns out, we needed a power card to activate the room! First time I’ve ever seen this in a hotel. When I asked for water, a housekeeping girl brought two small bottles for four people. I asked for more water and basic toiletries (shower gel, shampoo — since the bathroom had none), and she simply told me, “Call reception.” But the room phone wasn’t working in the first place.
🏖️ Beach Towels: We were told towels would be in the room — only to find standard bathroom towels. I asked the housekeeping guy, and he casually said, “Same towels for both shower and beach.” Seriously? So I’m supposed to use a towel full of sand and saltwater after my shower?
🍽️ Dining & Food: I overheard another guest shouting at the restaurant staff because the eggs at breakfast were turning blue. That was enough reason for me to not risk my family’s health. I asked and was told there’s a private restaurant nearby (not affiliated with the hotel), which we used for all meals — breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Special thanks to Fady there, who was professional and kind.
🏊 Pools & Waterpark: The pool water in some areas was yellowish, with leaves floating around. In the aqua park pool, the water was green. Two of the water games were out of service. The lifeguards treated children as if they were in school — giving constant strict instructions rather than helping them enjoy their time.
📶 Wi-Fi Access: When I asked about internet access, I was told it was for an extra charge. I asked why — since I booked a room that clearly included Wi-Fi — and again got the same disrespectful attitude: “It’s not included.” I didn’t even stay the full night. I left the hotel early — because honestly, it’s not worth a single pound, and certainly not worth wasting your vacation time there.
🚪 Check-Out Experience: During checkout, the staff didn’t even bother asking why I was leaving early. They just asked for the room number and said, “You’re supposed to check out tomorrow,” then added, “Okay, bye.” No follow-up, no care, no apology.
⚠️ Final Verdict: This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Untrained staff, lack of basic hospitality, poor hygiene in the pools, and terrible attitude from the reception. If you value your time, money, and sanity — stay away from...
Read moreThe apartment was clean and big enough to accomdate 4 people. They mentioned that they have paid wifi in all areas which is not correct, I did not have any coverage in my place. They mentioned that they can arrange paid parking that is not correct too, i had to park on the street. They mentioned it is a no pets hotel, during my short stay i saw people walking with their dogs in the pool area, one time one of the dogs was off leash. When i checked out, i had to wait 45 minutes so someone can check my apartment and return the insurance money to me. It is a little bit noisy as it seems there is alwas construction there even at 8:00 am !! The taste of the food at azura resurant inside the hotel is bad so we just ate one time there and did...
Read moreif you want to spoil your vacation - you need to go to this resort. I was helped by a broker - Inna Khurda (Facebook) /inna.khurda. (I wish her torment in hell)
for a fanadir, the lack of water in the apartments is quite normal. in 7 days it was possible to wash 2 times.
then I was moved to another building where there was water, but the washing machine did not work, and they also accused me of not wanting to wait for the plumber.( I really can't case I was busy)
not to mention such trifles as a non-working stove and microwave due to missing adapters. complete trash at the reception and eternal construction.
I saw many different varieties around Hurghada, without exaggeration - fanadir is one of the...
