Just came back for a 2 week vacation at this hotel.||The hotel looks unique and different to most all inclusive hotels. ||The food was very limited, small buffet options the food wasn't labelled so be careful if you have any food allergies. The à la carte restaurants had the same food as the buffet. After the two weeks were up I felt like I was getting away from hell and returning home for decent food. I wouldn’t recommend eating the salad or having ice in your drinks. Myself and my family all|got the standard tummy bug as you do from Egypt. I was very disappointed there was no all day snack bar and what was supposed to be ice cream on a daily basis I think the 14 days I was there I got ice cream 4 days. There was one day I had to keep going up for ice cream over and over again just to get my 2 weeks worth of it. When it came to drinks there was all ways an option but the bar staff would make you a drink that wasn’t even on the menu so just be careful what they are making you. The cocktails were very strong. There is a new part of the hotel by block 3 and 4 where there is a swim up bar. The bar staff each morning would bring an ice coffee to everyone in the area. If you are not In the pool ordering drinks. They can be very rude if you walk to the bar and they send you away and will come to you for an order. We did tip them at the end of the holiday where they suddenly got very friendly with us. Soft drinks were small but while we was there I asked for mango juice and was told I could I could one have 1 glass of it. Now i thought this was all inclusive not bed and breakfast. |||The entertainment was shocking , really disappointing and was only on 21:00pm-22:00 for an hour. Each day there was something different on but when staying for more than a week you get the same entertainment again. Which is by the main pool and you have to sit on sunbeds from 8pm if you arrived after 8 there would be nowhere to sit. Myself and my boyfriend had to sit on the grass to watch.||The animation team were ok. They didn’t look like they wanted to be there in the evening and they do have a lottery night which is good the first time you do it but we did it twice each week we was there the second time we did we did win but by the time we got to the stage the animation person gave our prize away. The only decent price there was a trip to orange bay which was a beautiful place. So if you ask me I would say the reps were a 3/5 . There was a few reps that would come up to us and ask if it was our first day and we be half way through our second week, ||There are shops on the hotel property|But there are over priced and any English people that go there will get ripped off and over charge you have to Barta with them. One of the shop owners tried to charge me £40 for 2 towels. So I wont recommend going to those shops, however down the road from the hotel there is a shop called the 3 Pyramids everything in the shop was priced and all decent prices nothing seemed over priced the staff in that shop was friendly and they do free transport to and from the shop. They will pick you up and drop you off back at your hotel and they don’t even take a tip.|||When it comes to the pools you have 3 to choose from. You do get given towels cards when you arrive I would highly recommend using their towels as it stops your towels getting dirty. Each time you Finnish at the pool you can get a fresh towel for the next day. The main pool has a foam party which was good and the trips are a great experience also You do get harassed all the time to do trips. We did quad bikes and snorkelling and went to orange bay via a boat. The sea is very fair out you have to walk 20 mins to get into deep water. Lots of jelly fish!!! The staff at the beach are wonderful. If you get a chance to go to the beach there is lovely guy I can’t remember his name but his camel Ali who wears blue is the most beautiful and friendly camel I ever bet. If you get a chance to meet Ali and his owner you won’t regret it. ||||Overall, experience could have been better but was still cool experience. I am hoping the hotel management will take feedback and improve the hotel for a better stay for...

The place feels like a building site and is filthy in many areas. The cave theme feels more like an excuse not to finish the place properly than a design choice.

• Rooms are dark, dingy, dusty, and not properly maintained. very dusty on the floors, understandable that it’s ‘cave’ themed but the minute you get out of the shower your feet were grey again. The shower is terrible, no consistent temperature and in the evenings, we had no hot water at all in our block, cold showers all round! • Pools are freezing, even though they’re advertised as heated. • Most of the staff are unfriendly, apart from bar staff who genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Especially, MUSTFA, MUFASA AND MOHAMAD. • Our cleaner barely cleaned the room – mainly just made the bed each day. • There’s not enough seating in the restaurant or bar area, everyone has to sit on the sunbeds to watch the evening entertainment • The entertainment team seemed to really struggle with enthusiasm each day. The girls are only there for the free bed and board, they definitely don’t enjoy their jobs! The entertainment is supposed to be from 9pm till 11pm, it started at 9 but was finished by 9.30/9.45 and then its just music playing till 11pm, then nothing, unless you pay to go in the night club. • In the mornings, guests are left to clean around the pool area from the night before. • Pool towels are old, tatty, and smell awful. • The whole place is a trip hazard with uneven flooring and poor lighting. Food was disappointing. I had to eat chips, Chicken and bread the whole time. On fish night, 6 out of the 8 of us ended up with chips and gravy because it was just fish. Nothing was labelled so you didn’t know what it was, just said fish on everything. If you have allergies this is not the place for you, no labels on anything. Snack bar never got order right and had to wait a long time States ‘free WiFi’ but this is only free in lobby and a couple of other areas. Charge £10 per 20GB of WiFi if you want it in your room and around the other areas.

Late flight day was a poor experience. There are usually decent facilities to freshen up before collection. Not here. • The “shower” was a tiny cubicle inside the toilets with no private changing space. • They didn’t provide towels unless you ask and its only pool towels We paid £60 to keep our room until 6pm States ‘free WiFi’ but this is only free in lobby and a couple of other areas. Charge £10 per 20GB of WiFi if you want it in your room and around the other areas. Mosquitoes everywhere. If you are prone to getting bitten be prepared, after our first night, one of our party had 31 bites, everyone was covered. They are mostly from the bar and restaurant area in the evening. Be warned This really isn’t a guest friendly place, the animation team spend all day going round trying to get you to buy tickets to the night club, or beach party or lottery. The managers are very unfriendly. We had a couple of incidents with our safe and they treated us like it was our fault. Really not a nice experience. The worst thing for us was the owner. There is no where near enough seating in the bar, the staff do their best to find you tables and chairs where they can, however at 9pm every night, a table and chairs come out of the back for the owner and his friends, he sits in prime position watching everything and he is the main priority for everything, one night, we were struggling to find chairs, a group left so we went and got the chairs, sat down and a member of staff came over and took the chairs off us and gave them to a group of young girls that were sat at the owners table. That was the final straw for us, just showed how much they don’t care about guests. I’ve come away from this holiday genuinely disappointed, especially considering the amount of money I spent. It’s been one problem after another. I even paid extra for a deluxe room, but honestly, all the rooms seem to be the same standard — so don’t waste your money on the upgrade.

Definitely not 5* I’d say more 3 star. Everyone’s opinions are...

We do 2 to 3 All-Inclusives every year and my review is based on our experiences. And also bear in mind that this is an African 5 Star not a European 5 Star !

We had a great time and holiday at the Caves and found the weather was great and found the staff both friendly and helpful.

The hotel location is to the north of Hurghada about 30 minutes out of the city centre and anyway from all local amenities and only the overpriced hotel shops to choose from. It has a real mix of clientele of varying ages and from numerous countries too. The hotel in areas is being updated with rooms being refurbished as it does look tired in places.

The hotel has 2 pools, the one nearest the restaurants is heated for the cooler months, the other pool runs about of half the length of the hotel complex and allows the swim up rooms to enter it, probably worth bearing in mind if you book a swim up room its not exclusive to those rooms that you normally find as everyone has access. I would imagine that sunbeds would be at a premium in the summer months as they were full in February when the hotel is half full.

The animation team work hard keeping everyone entertained and we particularly enjoyed the foam party in the swimming pool for Valentines Day but the constant loud music round the pool although enjoyable is nice to escape from so we went to the beach a couple of days to enjoy the peace & quiet.

Having been to many All Inclusive before you expect the spirits to be different but I must say I couldn’t get on with the flavour, both the Gin and Vodka tasted the same and the Brandy and Whisky too the only one I could get on with was the Rum but I found the local beer the most palatable drink as its out of a can and no two barman made the cocktails the same.

The hotel has a main buffet restaurant supplemented by 3 “Al a Carte” restaurants and a snack bar open at lunchtimes. The restaurant is kept really clean with a similar menu for both lunch and dinner with little change in the menu at all during our stay and the food could be hotter as its all luke warm. Surprisingly there was a real lack of fresh fruit compared to other hotels we have stayed at and no ice cream apart from a small tub given out one lunchtime again other hotels its a constant at lunch and dinner also a hot chocolate would have been nice a breakfast time but wasn’t an option. The Al a Carte restaurants were enjoyable with probably the Teppanyaki our favourite with a nice bit of theatre and the food was tasty too followed by the Grill House the Oriental Restaurant turned out to be Egyptian food not sure when Egypt became part of Asia ? Also there is bar near the beach doing handmade pizzas, sandwiches and burgers which are well worth having a geat alternative at lunchtime while sitting in the sun.

Our room was large and the bed was comfortable and very novel being like a cave this although made the room dark so shaving and applying make up can be problematic. The TV had 30 channels with only a film channel with subtitles and a Chinese channel the only ones in English. Also there was no chair in the room or bath mat on the bathroom. We did have a few issues the lock on the door was extremely temperamental and sometimes took 3 or 4 attempts to get in, the bedside light didn’t work and the sink leaked when emptied all over the bathroom floor. Housekeeping visited daily but all they do is make the bed and change the towels and empty the bins there was no cleaning of the bathroom or sweeping /mopping of the floor, checking with other guests there experience was the same with more focus on towel art on your bed than actual cleaning !

Area for improvement;

Housekeeping Poolside & Beach waiter service for drinks. Variety & temperature of...

We’ve spent 5 nights in Caves resort here are some insights: Location: 40-50 min by bus from the airport; we had transfer with our tour operator, so it was well organized. You can also order taxi from the hotel. Hotel itself is secured and no one can randomly enter from the street. Reception: staff is friendly and helpful. Checkin is at 14:00 but our room was ready at 12:30. Make sure to have some money for bakshish which you need to tip the doorman who will stay with you till you give him money (he wont leave without tip) Bars: you can get alco and non-alco drinks at all bars for free. After 21:00 some alco drinks are served with payment (except beer). In Betty Bar you can order food till 18:00 (burgers, french fries, hot dogs, etc). In overall there are 4 bars including one at the seaside beach (ice cream there is for cash only). Dining: in overall quality of food in Egypt is lower than in Europe and we were mostly eating rice and chicken + salads. Personally, I recommend avoiding balkan cheese or cottage cheese they have as it can lead you to “upset tummy” same as ice cream. In overall food was 5/10 but we knew what to expect before coming. To add here, bread is nice, but bakery is too dry (except some of cakes). Staff in dining area/canteen is very welcoming and trying to keep area clean all the time. There was also sea food, but we did not try it. Some fruits were unripe (green bananas, sour plums). Additionally, you can get bottled water all the time in any bar. Once checking out receptionists give you bag with food to eat in the airport or airplane: sandwich, banana, plum, jam, bread, some bakery. There are 2 swimming pools: main activities are happening in the main one which is closer to the reception building (volleyball, foam party, water aerobics, etc). There are spots to stay in shadow in hot days. Two other areas have umbrellas and connected to each other by the swimming pool. Some rooms have direct access to these swimming pools. Take special shoes for the beach as stones and corals are very sharp. Room: wasn’t as clean as expected after checking in, towels were dirty same as toilet. Rooms are quite dark due to the caves design. Curtains in our room were not closing (almost at all). Internet: NO INTERNET in the hotel. NO signal in rooms. Wifi is very poor, highly recommend buying prepaid sim card. Wifi is more or less a bit working at the reception and in Betty’s bar. Activities: dont be scared if guys offering you trips to paradise island, safari, dolphin house and etc. They are partnering directly with hotel. We booked trips to paradise island (snorkeling etc), safari (motorbike/quadricycle in the desert, dolphin house (snorkeling in dolphin area). Each activity is around 40$ per person, but you can agree on some discounts for bigger group. There are also animators and activities from hotel (belly dance, darts, stretching, fire show, etc). In overall I recommend hotel, but please take some medicine with you. P.S if you are lactose intolerant do not eat ice cream and cheeses in dining area/canteen. For safari better get scarf in advance otherwise its 15$ for 2 scarfs (7.5$ each). Get some cash for tipping ppl everywhere as its quite normal for them to ask for bakshish. Don’t agree on pics and videos on boats as then you will be asked up to 70$ or 70€ for videos and pics. We took our gopro so didn’t use this service. Take your own shower supplies (shampoo, soap) if your skin is sensitive as hotel supplies are soso. Again, we brought own ones. Enjoy.

It is not without disappointment that I am writing this review. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a 5 stars holiday turned out to be a nightmare and we are in the middle of it with no way out. As soon as we arrived at the resort, we've been surrounded by the employees of the hotel, trying to get some tips from us, especially one of them who didn't want to leave our room until receiving some coins, creating a very uncomfortable atmosphere. The food is simply not edible. All the meals offer very few and poor choices and majority of them are badly cooked or rotten. We are 2 people and both of us at the second day started getting food poisoned, I can ensure you that it’s not funny to have constant stomach ache and having to run to the toilet in the middle of every activity because the staff can’t meet basic hygienic standards. The open bar is basically a joke: all the cocktails are impossible to drink and made with strange local alcohols (dangerous?), for example the beer is just a can beer, left open until the next guest asks for one, spilled in plastic glasses. Majority of employees are very rude, treating you with indifference if not with passive aggression. What was supposed to be an adult only resort, revealed to be just full of old people in retirement. We have an insane number of flies during the day and mosquitoes during the evening. Entertainment is basically non existing and bad organized, giving no chances to young people to enjoy the vacation and have fun. If you want to party, leave out your hopes, this is not the place. I am writing this complaint from the lobby since the wifi is working just here. To give you another idea of how uncomfortable this place is, the beach is at least at 400m from the reception, cutting us out from all possible connections. The sea is also quite uncomfortable because you need to walk at least 200 m to reach a point deep enough to swim. We found out that the fire extinguishers are old and way passed the expiration date without ever being reviewed, and that’s a serious health threat. The rooms are spacious and the design is cool, reproducing a cave, it’s a pity that they use this as a justification to leave the dust everywhere. As they left my mattress on winter side, I decided to turn it myself, and under the bed I’ve found the traces of a joint of marijuana, there for god knows how long. The overall experience does not keep up with a 2 star hotel. How is it possible that this place is rated with 5 stars? Don’t fall for all the fake reviews you see! ( I update this as we had a meeting with the hotel manager the last day of our stay to discuss the highlighted issues: we have been asked to remove the review. They deny firmly any of the points of our review, treating us as idiots. According to them none else reported health issues after eating their food, while every single person we’ve talked to in the resort was confirming the same experience. When we asked to pay more attention to the bacteria, the hotel Manager sarcastically answered that he will tell the chef to stop adding bacteria to the chicken before serving it. They deny that fire extinguisher is expired, but punctually removed it from its place after our report. In summary, there’s no willingness to acknowledge their responsibilities and to make any improvements. We are back home now and stomach issues are still persistent. We are filling formal complaints to make sure that this hotel won’t ruin anyone else’s holidays.)
