Qasr El Bagawat Hotel — Hotel in Al Khargah City

My husband and I were traveling through the Western Desert and made reservations at the last minute on Christmas Day. We had been in Egypt almost 2 months and had found that many accommodations were closed or empty due to covid so we greatly appreciated that the Bagawat was able to gather together an excellent staff and open just for us. We had a lovely Christmas feast in the open air bedouin restaurant.

Our room was huge. We needed a place spread out and relax for a few days. Here was the perfect place to do so. We enjoyed the hotel and the staff so much that we stayed an extra day.

Breakfast and dinner were included in the nightly rate. Our ample meals were traditional, hardy Egyptian faire, delicious, carefully prepared and beautifully presented on quality dinnerware.

The desert setting is absolutely breathtaking and the lodge is within walking distance of many archaeological sites.

For us travel is all about the people and the staff at Qasr El Bagawat Hotel were excellent. We especially appreciated that they were scrupulous about masking up and keeping social distance due to covid. This made us feel safe. The staff really went the extra mile for two American travelers far away from home at Christmas.

We spent about half day in this hotel stayed in the lobby & cafeteria area and the restaurant. The hotel has nice entrance all from the local community even chairs were made from the Palm Trees leaves.||||I found few remarks inside the Lobby Toilets, informed the management who took immediate action to re setup again.||||We had Breakfast & Lunch there. Food was very good and excellent service. It was a dream to find a real eco-lodge “green/environmental” Hotel in Kharga Oasis because that destination was really need that kind of Hotels because it is really rich with charming desert and the picture was missing that kind of Hotels to be completed with full beauty.
