Minya Hotels of the Armed Forces — Hotel in Al Minya

It cost me 50 USD per night to stay in such hotel. Nevertheless, it is located at the west bank or the nil river (the train station is at the east bank of el-Minya) and the distance between them is about three kilos. It provides some choices for tour in Beni Hassan and Tell Amarna but the price was so tough that it can't be bargained. It much better to rent a Taxi outside the hotel by the visitor and negociate with the driver about the rent and visit the sight separately than book a trip directly from the hotel. For example, the rent to Beni Hassn is about 100 egyptian pounds, and you could stay there for one hour, but it cost 400 egyptian pounds form booking it from hotel. Besides, the hotel isn't responsible for the breakfast so we have to prepare for it...

The most valuable feature is, if you get a room on 2nd or 3rd floor, is the very nice view of the Nile river.||||Also, the staff is very friendly although they don't speak much English. The hotel is on the east coast of the Nile whereas the city is on the left side. So, everything is far away, and you need to go by taxi.||The place has had better times and can benefit from better cleaning.||There is a large restaurent with low prices. At the beginning we have to say that the hotel in a good place on the edges of the small city. The hotel has a huge area on the Nile river with lot of gardens and a wonderful view to the river and whole city behind the river. The design of lobby is very good with free WiFi only there but not in rooms. Rooms are ok and clean with an ordinary furniture but without the luxury we used to see in big hotels. Prices are expensive although it's just for lodging without meals (420 L.E for double room). The restaurant and the cafeteria has limited choices of food and beverages but we have to say that the price of food is not expensive with good quality.
