First night paid in £ 1x £50 1x £20 1 x £5 Wedding party on the floor. Loud music in the evening from outside (wedding) Called down to ask what time music will be turned off. Told 11pm. Loud shouting and banging until almost 5am. Husband contacted the reception in the morning. They apologised about the noise and offered free breakfast and free drinks throughout the day. We explained we would be leaving too early for breakfast so manager agreed to free dinner. We decided to stay another night as too tired to travel. Paid cash for second night. English pounds. 2 x £50 and given 900 Egyptian pounds in The barman said we had no credit for free drinks, so I bought the first on my bank card. This was then resolved once he called the reception and was then aware the drinks were comped. Husband ordered dinner from the Chinese restaurant. Told by the manager of the restaurant we had to pay for the food because it wasn’t included as it’s separate business from the hotel. Too tired to dispute so paid cash in Egyptian pounds - to a female staff member (not the restaurant manager)

Check out Husband went down to check out and told we hadn’t paid for the room. Then he claimed we hadn’t paid for the dinner. Explained paid the staff member in the restaurant. Then he said we hadn’t paid the drinks bill.

The manager of the restaurant called the reception during the dispute and claimed we had ordered it as room service. My husband went down to collect food and asked for a take away as I was too tired to go down for dinner. My husband sat down to wait and the restaurant manager said that he will have someone bring the food to the room. The man who came to the room asked us to pay via the card reader machine and we explained we had already paid cash in the restaurant, so he left.

On Check out were were accused of not paying for the room, not paid for dinner, not paying for drinks.

Went round in circles with them. Needed to leave for flight. Ordered an Uber to leave the hotel. Told the staff to speak to the manager who okayed the free meal and drinks and who also took the cash for our 2 night stay. Left email address and telephone number. Staff being very verbally aggressive at this point. Lots of shouting. 5/6 men surrounded my husband. I was left alone. We tried to leave and the men chased us. My husband told the man not to touch him several times as the man tried to drag my husband back to the hotel via taking our suitcase instead.

Security Man with gun appeared. He snatched my Phone when I was recording the incident. One man refused to let go of our luggage. He grabbed my husband’s t- shirt and ripped it. Another took my suitcase away when I was trying to console my husband. I took it back. One member of staff demanded we give up our passports. I was pushed by one of the men. My husband was pushed repeatedly. Extremely aggressive behaviour from the staff. I have Photo and video evidence of this.

He has no right to touch me or my husband or our belongings. Especially because it was poor communication between the staff which caused this. The staff were aware that I am pregnant but didn’t care that I was pushed or that I was crying. I feel in the end, it wasn’t about money, it was more of an ego issue with your staff. They pushed and pushed and mocked my husband to get a reaction from him. Calling more and more men to join in. We paid another 2x £50 to get them to leave us alone. They accepted this despite claiming we owed more money. We basically had to pay them off to leave us alone. The staff are incredibly corrupt. Essentially we were held hostage and bullied into paying money to be allowed to go. This is not acceptable behaviour. All of this happened in the dark on the side of the road. We have contacted the hotel several times asking for cctv footage of the payments being paid. They have...

Do not stay here. I had high hopes for this hotel, especially after being stranded for a day by Egyptairways. Unfortunately, the service I received was far from welcoming or accommodating. Upon arrival at 3AM, I was rudely spoken to by a front desk staff member after my key card stopped working three times. Apparently, I had kept my phone too close to it, but instead of informing me politely, I was chastised like it was my fault. It would’ve been helpful if this was mentioned the first time to avoid this happening recurrently. To top it off, when I raised concerns about my lock not working, I was told to “it will be fine” because “no one is going to kill you.” An appalling response—no guest should be made to feel unsafe or dismissed so carelessly. I then asked if I could move rooms. They also failed to provide my parents with a double bed, which seemed like a basic request for two adults.

The dining experience didn’t fare much better. Just as I was about to sit down for lunch, I witnessed an entire table holding hot soup and rice in large basins collapse. Thankfully, no one was standing there at the time, but it could have been extremely dangerous for anyone. On the plus side, the chef and front lady were kind and tried to accommodate my dietary needs. As a vegetarian who had not eaten in 18 hours, I was grateful when they provided me with two boiled eggs, as the vegetarian options were limited to mostly carbs and steamed vegetables.

As for the bedrooms, they were truly shocking. Unhygienic and unkempt—my pictures speak volumes. In the UK, this would absolutely fall below standard regulations for cleanliness.

The shuttle service was another major letdown. There was only one shuttle bus running once an hour in the early hours of the morning. Had we waited for it, we would have been stuck at the airport for another hour, despite the hotel being just seven minutes away. After the stress of Egyptairways denying us boarding, we opted to take a taxi instead, unwilling to endure further delays.

Overall, this hotel was a disappointment on multiple fronts—service, safety, and cleanliness. I certainly would not recommend it and hope they address these serious issues for future guests however it seems many have already experienced this previously. Also it makes sense that there is something going on between Egypt Air and the hotel when they seemed like they were expecting us and there were many of us staying here who had been through the same experience.

I will likely receive a response on here like others have regarding taking feedback on etc and maybe even be asked to email them to speak directly to voice my concerns, quite frankly, this is all a facade, and they will likely not respond to my email. So I would rather leave this here and allow others to make their own...

This has to be one of the worst experiences we had with a hotel. We made the reservation for 3x adults including breakfast. For my mom 65, my dad 74 and me 28. 1. We enter the hotel and we had to scan our bags like all security in Egypt. Nobody approached my elderly parents to assist them with their luggage’s (bell boys) once we crossed security one sir with eye glasses stood behind our bags waiting for a tip. Which of course we didn’t give as he never assisted.2. We reached the hotel at 12:30 and the receptionist told us the check in is at 14:00 and that she’ll try to give us a room before that. During this time we saw several families laying in the sofas as they were on the same situation. At any point any of the staff approached to offer welcome drinks or to let us leave our luggage somewhere to go grab a bite.3. At 14;00 we finally got our room at the 1at floor which is located next to the staff, kitchen, and it department. The room had 2 single beds only. For 3 adults. My mom went to the reception to ask for a bigger room to actually make 3 adults fit. At this point the hotel finally offered the welcome drinks to apologize. Which we never received even. 4 after 1 hour they gave us the key to a queen size bed and their solution was to bring an extra single bed for my dad. They told us is coming right now. We waited over 4 hours for this bed to arrive since we got the key from our new room. Over 5 hours since we’ve arrived at the hotel at this point! And after 2 calls to reception which every time we called they hang up the phone saying” it’s coming”. searching for housekeeping staff at the corridors and contacting the manager directly. The bed was the mattress holder. It was not even a mattress for a 75 year old person.5. The hotel is beautiful with the most horrendous service. At the restaurant you feel not welcome, approached, never saw a single smile from any of the staff: from bell boy, receptionist, manager; waiters, even housekeeping. Miserable staff only that take it up on the customers. 6. During midnight someone tried opening the door which for our luck was locked so they were not succesful. We could tell was staff from their language plus we weee next to three staff offices including housekeeping room. 7. At the check out with zero additional bills to pay. The staff make you wait over 15 minutes for nothing. Rudeness as they knew that we had to be at the airport just to let us wait those 15 minutes and say: ok that’s it. And start laughing immediately. Cannot recommend this hotel to any family or anyone who values money for that matter. Worst money spent omg Egypt on a...

Review of Le Passage Hotel & Casino – Cairo I recently stayed at Le Passage Hotel & Casino in Cairo, and while the experience had its positive moments, there were also a few areas that needed improvement. Check-in & Reception: Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the reception staff, who were friendly, helpful, and professional. They ensured a smooth check-in process and were always available to answer any questions or accommodate any requests. Their welcoming attitude was one of the highlights of our stay. Room & Cleanliness: Unfortunately, the room did not fully meet our expectations. While it had a nice view and was generally tidy, the cleanliness was not up to standard. The toilet, in particular, was not clean enough, and we noticed that the flush was not working properly. Additionally, the toilet floor was dirty and clearly needed some maintenance work. This was disappointing, as cleanliness is a key factor in a comfortable stay. Dining Experience: One of the best aspects of the hotel was the food. The open buffet had a wide variety of delicious options, catering to different tastes. Some of the standout dishes included: • Beef dishes that were well-seasoned and full of flavor. • Chicken with honey and mustard, which was perfectly balanced in sweetness and tanginess. • Pashamel potato, which was creamy and comforting. • Zafran rice, with a rich aroma and great texture. • A variety of desserts and starters, ensuring something for everyone. Service & Hospitality: The staff in the restaurant and throughout the hotel were attentive and professional. A special mention to [insert name], who was incredibly friendly, always had a smile, and made our stay feel much better. Their kindness and willingness to help truly made a difference in our experience. Overall Impression: Le Passage Hotel & Casino has some great qualities, including excellent food and friendly staff. However, the room and bathroom cleanliness and the need for some maintenance work were noticeable drawbacks. If the hotel improves its housekeeping and maintenance, it could offer a much better experience. Would I stay again? Maybe, but only if they improve the cleanliness and room conditions. The food and service were fantastic, but a cleaner and better-maintained room would make all the difference.
