We did a 2 day 1 night tour of the white desert with Hamada and his partner in crime Salah. They are absolutely wonderful people and as a team they are the best you can get. We were advised against going on the trip to the desert by several people saying that it is not safe but this is something that can never be missed. It is absolutely safe and they make you feel at home. From the pickup at the hotel to the stay in the desert and the return journey, everything was flawless and well planned. The way Hamada treats the desert shows the passion and love he has for the desert and he is a wonderful host. Salah, his friend and travel companion is an absolute jem and he makes the night exciting with his music and cooking and constant jokes. Sleeping under the open sky and watching the milky way in the night was an experience we can never forget. I would totally recommend this tour to everyone who visits Egypt and trust me it is totally safe in the desert. We would definitely come back to stay for more nights in the desert as promised. Thanks Hamada and Salah for an...
Read moreMost tourists to Egypt have a long checklist of sights they want to see: The Great Pyramid of Giza, the Sphinx, the Red Sea, the Valley of the Kings, the Egyptian Museum, to name a few.
I was like that too when I visited last December.
The problem with all of those destinations, for me, is that I've dreamed about visiting them for so long that they could never possibly live up to my expectations.

I was dying to get out of the city after a week in busy, polluted Cairo. Though I knew little about any of the places in the tour, I decided to take a chance.
I am so glad I did. All three locations are part of Egypt's Western Desert, the section of the Sahara Desert that covers the half of the country west of the Nile. Each place was more beautiful...
Read moreThe White Desert is a hidden gem in Egypt that often goes unnoticed by travelers. However, it is undoubtedly one of the best spots in the country. With camping options available, visitors can fully immerse themselves in the unique surroundings of the desert. The white and black deserts, along with the crystal mountain, are all nearby and equally breathtaking. The white desert itself is a stunning landscape of chalk-white formations that look like something out of a dream. The black desert, with its dark rocks and hills, provides a striking contrast to the white desert. The crystal mountain is another must-see attraction, with shimmering quartz crystals embedded in its surface. All in all, the White Desert is an unforgettable destination that should not be missed by any traveler looking for something off the...
