Hello good evening everyone this is my own experience at the resort I had 2 night here with my family we are 4 adults and one child we are all Egyptian |We didn’t book from booking or Airbnb or any website |We wanted to go to the hotel and book it from there to make it more easy for us and so we did arrive at the Reception in the evening around 9 PM there was only two persons worki At the reception both of them was so sleepy and so slowly and it’s not allowed for us to have any information because everybody working at the reception they are all new and don’t have any information about anything even we asked for someone to show us the resort they was like we don’t have anyone to make for us orientation for the resort they said only in the morning with the golf car|||So attention please if you will go to this resort you must be sure that you tell them to make the booking for you as a Egyptian |Bed we are all Egyptian and from the second night we find out from Mr ( Ahmed) the night manger that our room booked by dollars like we are tourist and we are not Egyptian |And we find out that we paid for each person over 200 egp pound for each night so we paid. Over 2000 extra for everyone |And we find out that this price for the people who is not Egyptian because the price is different by dollars and Egyptian pound and euros and from Arabic country is different and Europe country is different price ||So they give us check out at 3AM not 12AM and we didn’t need this |||Because now we will go to the second problem the room |The room is full of animals everywhere and when I did go to Reception and said my room full of animals they all said this will never happen we have good company who clean the resort but after I show them the photos of the room everybody was like ohhh it’s just lizard or mouse they say it’s normal here |But it’s normal to find Fox walking front of my room in the night |Fox inside the resort how come 😱😱|And when we ask the people at the resort there is a Fox everybody is like yeah it’s okay he come only at the night like for real this is a joke ||And aslo from first day we find in the room scorpion 🦂 and we had to kill him by myself the problem is this resort it’s really a dangerous place for real animals everywhere fox walking around the room in the night and scorpion in the room and the girls from the reception who did make for us check out she is so rude |She doesn’t even know how to talk to people we show her the photos of everything and tell her everything happen with us and she was like okay don’t come here again |So I will just post the photos and I’m just telling experience |The girl from the gust relation are nice and people working at the restaurant and the housekeeping are good but as the people at the reception it’s feel like they don’t even want to work at all and they say to us like ohh I finish work now I can’t help you and there is no one else it’s only him but he want to sleep in his office for real where is the general manager ||And everybody start to only care about us after we said we will share our experience on TripAdvisor |And the big problem is that we first we got scam from the reception because in the end we paid for the resort price with dollars and we paid more because they did make for us that we looks like we are not looks like Egyptian and he had all our Egyptian ID and we find out from Mr Ahmed the night manger that we paid for each person over 200 for each night and in the end we didn’t even get this money back |So we paid over 2000 extra for who I really don’t know and animal and fox and I will post all the photos ||||You will go to this resort |1 you will get scam |2 Fox everywhere in the night so better never leave the room |3 scorpion inside the room |4 animals everywhere inside the toilet |Best resort if you...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel with our young child for one week. While the hotel grounds are beautiful, and the room was nice and spacious (with a bath - bonus for kiddos) we were disappointed by the service, facilities, and the food.
Service This hotel employs an excessive number of staff who spend much of their time arguing fairly loudly and sitting around doing nothing. For example, we waited for one hour for food and drinks while ~10 staff members stood around us. We eventually gave up and went back to our room, shocked that we never even received our drinks despite multiple reminders. We met several kind employees during our stay but overall, the service was inefficient and unorganized.
Facilities & food The children’s water slides were very old and non functional. The children’s playground was in a similar state (dangerous for young children). The felucca that was promoted on-site was not working during our stay (no explanation given). The kids club did not have structured activities but there was a very kind man who opened the clubhouse for us each day, which had some blocks and colouring books for kids to enjoy. The shuttle bus to the city was from 5pm- 9pm, which is entirely useless. By the time you would arrive in the city, all attractions would be closed and you would be walking in the dark (at this time of year). There were taxis lined up nearby to take people into town during the day but we were given cars without seatbelts on multiple occasions and on one occasion, a car without functioning mirrors.
While the gardens and walkways were beautiful, I felt horribly guilty funding a facility that is so clearly careless about their environmental impact. They used excessive amounts of water for the sprawling lawns and gardens, which seems criminal in such an arid country. And they lit several fires every night for no apparent reason. The smoke was nauseating and careless.
The food was expensive and of poor quality. There were few vegetarian options provided. Only two small water bottles were provided in the room each day and there wasn’t a shop on-site selling water or a fountain/dispenser of any sort. So the only option was to buy water in the restaurants in the bar and restaurants, which was frustrating since we needed water for our baby’s bottles. What was most striking was the poor service in the restaurants, with huge waits for food and errors in orders. This was especially frustrating given how isolated you are in this hotel from restaurants in Luxor. The exception to this was in the Asian restaurant and at the pool bar, where service was very thoughtful.
Overall, we found the hotel location to be beautiful, the experience to be chaotic, and the facilities to be less child friendly than anticipated. We enjoyed our walks along the Nile but were relieved when it was time to leave, since the stay felt stressful. Our stays at the Hilton and Pickelbatros hotels in Hurghada were far superior, with structured and efficient service and child-adapted facilities & activities.
It seems like Jolie Ville was amazing in its day but poor hotel management has left it in disarray. It’s...

This complex has so much to offer, from fabulous pools, which can be some what empty in March any way. To beautiful scenery and local wild life. There is so much to see and do. You can enjoy an evening River Nile cruse with a choice of refreshments. You can enjoy the Gym located on the island or even the SPA to have all kinds of treatment. You can visit the Island Zoo and as well as play a few games like chess and Pool. They have 3 pools to choose from as well as some fabulous restaurants/ dining experience.
The resort is what is states, it is an island and you can arrive and depart by bridge or River.. We arrived by private transfer to be greeted by its friendly and helpful staff. I recommend King's bar to have a drink and unwind in the evening, if you enjoy a cigar they sell them here and you can smoke inside if you wish. (Though being British, I thought of others and took my habit outside) There is a lovely seated area you can enjoy the sun set and rise as well as enjoy the wildlife. There are plenty of birds to keep a watch out for as well as the island cats.
You can also book your tours and excursions here at the hotel. For a first time visiting to Egypt this was a blessing as we were able to get local knowledge and guidance as one site was closed the day we wanted to visit. We also got to take advantage of private transfers to the locations as well as a private tour guide. This has been brilliant for getting the history of Luxour as well as being able to tell you the stories from the hieroglyphs and various carvings on tombs and sites.
During Ramadan it has been a little loud through the night with prayer at night but it is nice to experience, it is so nice to hear off in the distance and the passing trains.
I'd highly recommend the sunset river cruise with your choice of snacks at least once on your visit.
I will definitely be returning to King's Island too in the future. I'm currently 3 days into the trip and Can't fault it here and for a first time experience my mind has...
