JAZ Aquaviva — Hotel in Makadi Bay

We had a fantastic stay at this resort. The facilities were excellent, and the staff consistently showed great hospitality. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. One of the standout features was the food – it was a real treat every night with a wide variety of well-prepared dishes.

Pros:

Spacious rooms and large bathrooms

Excellent food, especially the well-seasoned vegetables; fresh BBQ and grilled meats were also available

Heated swimming pool (much needed and appreciated)

Delicious lunch options at Paprika (Italian restaurant)

Very clean resort; staff were quick to attend to any mess

The on-site water park was great fun, with mostly English-speaking lifeguards

Polite, helpful, and attentive staff throughout the resort

The Thai restaurant (part of the Jaz group but outside this specific hotel) served exceptional food. Guests can access it and other restaurants (one per stay) free of charge

The last shuttle bus from the beach to the resort departs at 22:30, which feels a bit early. However, buses to the beach run every 30 minutes. The beach itself was excellent – sandy with clear water and sunbeds included

I had a sore throat during my stay, and the staff were kind enough to make me a honey & lime drink. They usually had honey available, and while it would’ve been even better if it was kept at the bar daily, the effort they made showed how they go above and beyond for their guests

Overall, the team genuinely strives to ensure guests are comfortable and happy throughout their stay

Cons:

The resort did not answer phone calls made from outside. This was frustrating when we tried to enquire about late dinner

Meal timings were not very accommodating. Dinner ended at 9pm, which is quite early, and the schedule for late dinners (on select days) was not clearly communicated. For instance, we arrived from Cairo unsure if dinner would be available, and had to eat at a service station instead

Breakfast ended at 10am, earlier than most resorts we’ve stayed at. Late breakfast at Paprika from 10:30am was a good option

Popcorn was available at very odd times – often during dinner, which wasn’t ideal. Despite raising this with staff, the schedule remained unchanged

While evening shows were good, they were not easy to locate. Reception staff were often unsure about where they were taking place

There were very few clocks around the resort – surprisingly, even reception didn’t have one. Without a phone, it was hard to know the time

Snack bar timings were also inconsistent

The alcohol, especially the cocktails, was poor quality. Staff didn’t seem trained in how to make them properly

Our recent family vacation at Jaz Aquaviva in Hurghada was nothing short of excellent, leaving us with cherished memories and a strong desire to return. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and incredibly welcoming, setting the tone for a truly relaxing and fun-filled stay. Check-in was smooth, quick, and the staff were exceptionally helpful, ensuring a stress-free start to our holiday. Our family room, located on the second floor, was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The pool view from our room was simply amazing, offering a picturesque backdrop to our mornings and evenings. We encountered no issues whatsoever with any of the room amenities, making our stay incredibly comfortable. The culinary experience at Jaz Aquaviva was a definite highlight. The main buffet offered an impressive array of dishes with incredible variety, ensuring we never got bored. Each meal presented something new and delicious, from the main buffet to the various snack options throughout the day. We particularly appreciated the clear guidance for allergies, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to guest well-being. The staff in the restaurants and bars were consistently helpful and genuinely eager to assist with a smile, making every dining experience a pleasure. Their dedication to guest satisfaction was truly commendable. The on-site Makadi Water World was an absolute blast for our entire family. My girls, despite their different ages, thoroughly enjoyed all the slides and attractions. Even during the busy Eid holiday, the pools were exceptionally clean and never felt overcrowded, allowing for maximum enjoyment. The animation team deserves a special mention for their outstanding efforts. Their daytime activities and evening shows were fantastic, providing endless entertainment. The jetpack show was a particular highlight, leaving us all in awe – it was truly incredible! While Jaz Aquaviva isn't directly on the beach, the convenient shuttle service to the beach that serves four hotels meant we never felt crowded. We enjoyed relaxing by the sea, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. We'd like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Ibrahim and Adham, our housekeepers, for their exceptional effort and meticulous attention to detail during our stay. Their dedication made our room a true sanctuary. Having visited Jaz Aquaviva four years ago during the COVID period, I can confidently say that the level of service has not only maintained its high standards but has noticeably increased. The hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction and their handling of safety measures (from my previous visit) demonstrate their professionalism. We would wholeheartedly recommend Jaz Aquaviva to any family seeking a memorable and enjoyable vacation in Hurghada. It truly is an oasis of fun, relaxation, and exceptional hospitality. We can't...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Stay at Jaz Aqua Viva Hotel Hurghada!

Our stay at Jaz Aqua Viva was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and top-notch service. The rooms were spacious, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, making it the perfect retreat after a day of enjoying everything the hotel has to offer.

The food was absolutely fantastic, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from. Every meal was fresh, flavourful, and expertly prepared, leaving us excited for every dining experience. The entertainment was lively and engaging, ensuring there was never a dull moment! There are also a selection of A La Carte restaurants available, with one free meal per stay for these restaurants we opted for the Chinese A La Carte which did not disappoint the food was great.

A special shoutout to Ahmed Basir (Cleaner), who took care of our room (4021) with great attention to detail and kept everything spotless, his towel origami was amazing and also Kareem the bartender, who was an absolute delight, making fantastic drinks and adding to the vibrant atmosphere. Their hard work and dedication truly made our stay extra special! We sincerely hope the hotel acknowledges their outstanding contributions, as they went above and beyond to ensure guests had an amazing experience.

While the hotel is a bit far from everything, it offers a tranquil getaway with top-tier service and facilities that more than make up for the distance.

The only issue we encountered was with the clinic. My brother was charged £200 without any prior pricing information, and additionally, the clinician appeared to push unnecessary medications, totaling an extra £800, seemingly based on the fact that we had travel insurance rather than genuine medical need. Thankfully, my sister—who is a pharmacist—quickly spotted this, allowing us to purchase antibiotics for his ear infection at a fraction of the cost from a local supermarket. Which sorted the issue. We wanted to bring this issue to the attention of future guests, as it’s worth being cautious.

That said, this does not take away from the incredible facilities and experience at the hotel. Everything else was exceptional, and we would highly recommend Jaz Aqua Viva to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Hurghada.
