Golden ocean — Hotel in Matruh

I was really excited to try this hotel Reviews are really confusing Some reviews are excellent and others are only 1 star.. so i wanted to have my personal experience

1- location: this is the strongest point in this hotel.. it is formed of only suites on a lake.. it overlooks the sea.. high privacy..

2- sea: u can swim in the lake through going downstairs from ur terrace.. no sandy part.. just stairs then water.. this is perfect.. u can go up and down at any time.. even mid night.. sea is clean and very relaxing …

3- pool: no public pool in the hotel.. but we had a jacuzzi on the terrace.. it was very amusing for babies and kids.. just fill it with warm water and enjoy the vibration, sun, view and ur favorite music.

4- terrace: nice with an umbrella and 4 chairs. Enjoy ur breakfast there.. take care of flies

5- rooms: we had 2 rooms and a reception .. they are spacious.. new furniture is added. Every single place has its new air conditioner..

6- kitchen: it is a small part,, cutlery and dishes are provided.. microwave, kettle, refrigerator are available , no stove. Daily bar supplies are provided

7- bathroom: clean .. needs minor maintenance. Daily soap and shampoos supplies are available

8- meals: breakfast is free and it is delivered to ur room. ( u can pick ur choice from a list and hang it on the door before 3 am- u choose when to receive it).. breakfast is ordinary.. nothing special (just eggs, juice, beans, cheese, cold cuts ….)- for lunch u can go to marina 4 to have ur favorite meal or ask for delivery.

9- room service: daily cleaning, mineral water supply… are present and all staff are so polite.

10- beach: u can have a free access to a nearby beach(golden ocean beach).. it is nice and 4 minutes walk from hotel (u pass through another hotel). However we didn’t go there.. we preferred the hotel lake. It was super amazing

🚨 Do NOT Stay Here – Worst Hotel Experience Ever 🚨

This was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the property was already a disaster. There was a strong, unpleasant odor in the air, and the lobby was literally swarming with flies — an immediate red flag. Despite charging premium, high-end rates, the reality was appalling. Our room had a toilet that didn’t flush, a jacuzzi stained with rust that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and an air conditioning unit that didn’t work at all in the middle of summer. The staff’s response was just as bad, if not worse. No one apologized at any point. Instead, they acted as though I was overreacting. Every complaint was brushed off with condescension and dismissiveness. I had to fight just to be moved to another room — only to discover that most of the same problems existed there too. For all four days of our stay, the room key never worked, and the door knob was broken. Every time I needed to enter my room, I had to call someone to let me in — completely unacceptable. I asked repeatedly to speak with a manager from day one, but they avoided me the entire stay. Only when we were checking out did someone finally appear, casually mentioning the hotel was “going into renovation.” If the property is unfit for guests, why are they still charging full price as if everything is fully operational? The food was bland, forgettable, and not worth the price. But the worst part of all was the staff’s attitude: dismissive, condescending, and at times outright mocking toward legitimate complaints. This hotel is absolutely not worth your time or money. Overpriced, poorly maintained, and run by staff who show no respect or care for their guests. Worst customer service and all the staff were very rude and not helpful which ruined my vacation as I wasn’t able to enjoy the location and the views because of their bad behavior.||I went for a vacation for 24 hours during the weekend with my family, my wife and daughters and then we were surprised when we returned back from our dinner at night with a vast amount of water coming out from our suite and the outside corridor was full of the water that was coming out from our suite.||When we entered our suite we found out that a leak has happened and most of my medical stuff, equipments our clothes and sneakers has got ruined because of water in addition to the chargers and the bags.||A pipe connection has been damaged and caused that as there was no maintenance for this suite for a very long time as the pipe was very rusty as it can be clearly noticed from its shape, accordingly I wasn’t able to proceed with my vacation because most of my clothes and stuff were ruined and I had to return back home to fix that which prevented me from enjoying the rest of my vacation.||I decided to return back to Egypt and asked if they can settle it and provide me with a partial refund and didn’t ask for any compensation for my damages, surprisingly I received very rude way of communication, very rude debating behavior and they want to adjust my plans according to their point of view with no care about my time and circumstances of the whole family, in addition to that they didn’t admit that this is their fault because they don’t do the regular maintenance for their suites.||I don’t think ever that this is a representative staff for an hotel with an amazing location that can host tourists and...
