I would like to share my experience with this hotel, for which we paid €1,600 per person for one week.||||Accommodation||The travel agency advertised modern, spacious villas. However, the reality was very different – small, dark rooms lined up next to each other, connected by common walls with absolutely no privacy, resembling changing cabins at a public swimming pool rather than accommodation in a luxury 5-star hotel. The bathroom was similarly disappointing: tiny, dark, and fitted with rusty equipment.||||Food||There was no variation in the menu! Every single day we were served the exact same dish for lunch and dinner throughout the entire stay, except on the final day before departure. Although the travel agency clearly mentioned à la carte dining on their website, and we did not expect buffet options, serving an unchanged menu in a hotel of this supposed standard and price range is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, after three days we experienced severe stomach issues, and our holiday effectively ended with medical treatment on Antinal. Waiting times for food often exceeded one hour, and sometimes parts of our orders were never delivered at all. As for beverages, basic juices were not even available with meals, and within the so-called all-inclusive offer, we were provided with nothing more than plain water.||||Beach||Upon arrival, the beach resembled more of a construction site. We were not informed in advance that during our stay the hotel would host 500 wedding guests, resulting in three nights of loud music and sleepless nights. Similar nightly disturbances continued from the beach bar, which, ironically, was off-limits to us despite being all-inclusive guests. We also faced unpleasant restrictions regarding drinks; the all-inclusive alcohol offer was limited to rum & cola or gin & tonic — nothing more.||||The beach itself could have been beautiful if only it had been maintained or cleaned occasionally. Unfortunately, the sunbeds and seating areas were already rusting and deteriorating.||||Sea||The greatest disappointment was the sea itself — completely inaccessible! The entrance to the water is dangerous and suitable only for the brave, requiring one to navigate over sharp, protruding rocks hidden beneath crashing waves. These rocks stretch along the entire private beach of the hotel. While the travel agency suggested water shoes as a recommendation, they should have been clear these are absolutely necessary, not optional.||||Hotel Representative / Delegate||Our interaction with the hotel delegate was disastrous. When we raised our concerns and questions, he acted as though he couldn’t hear us. He assured us that should anything happen, he would be there within minutes. However, when health issues arose, he told us he would arrive in 7 hours, but ultimately never showed up at all. Instead, he sent an unprofessional doctor who did not speak a word of English, leaving us unable to explain our condition. Moreover, the tools he used were visibly unhygienic. While we understand hygiene standards may differ in Egypt, we still expected at least a basic standard from both the travel agency and the delegate, which was clearly lacking.||||We willingly paid more for this holiday, hoping for a higher level of service as we are well-traveled in Egypt. Instead of luxury, we encountered dreadful accommodation lacking privacy, monotonous food, severely restricted beverages, and a beach and sea we couldn’t enjoy. The entire stay was overshadowed by noise, dirt, and a complete disregard for guests. For the price paid, this was a huge disappointment, and we absolutely do not...
Read moreWorst Luxury Hotel Experience – The G Hotel, Seashell North Coast, Egypt I am currently staying at The G Hotel in Seashell North Coast, Egypt, and I feel compelled to share what has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a so-called “luxury” hotel. I booked two rooms for three nights for my family and myself, costing $5,000 — making it one of the most expensive hotel stays we’ve ever had. To put it into perspective, we recently stayed at JW Marriott Times Square, New York, and Ritz-Carlton, Florida, and both were significantly cheaper while offering incomparable levels of professionalism and customer service. We arrived on Wednesday, August 5th. The reception was welcoming and told us we could call for a golf cart service anytime. We were then taken to cabanas on the lagoon — a surprise, since nowhere in the booking confirmation was it mentioned that we were booking cabanas. Still, the view was pleasant, and we decided to make the best of it. The first evening, we requested a golf cart to Seashell Walk. The driver, Ahmed, was friendly and professional. On our way back, Bassam picked us up after 35 minutes — still polite and helpful. The problems started the next night. We asked for a golf cart to Otto restaurant. The driver was on his phone when we arrived and kept us waiting while he discussed selling Marassi QR code passes for LE 2,700 — clearly using his position to run a side business. He then refused to take us to the restaurant because we had no reservation (a policy no one mentioned before), so we changed our plans and asked him to take us to Seashell Walk instead. This driver, Hassouna, spent the ride on his phone, driving carelessly, and then refused to take us all the way to the Walk, claiming it was “management orders,” despite us having been taken there the night before. His tone was rude and dismissive. We ended up walking 15 minutes to our destination. On our way back, we requested a golf cart at 11:15 pm from the gate. We were given chairs to wait. While waiting, we saw the staff bus leaving — with Hassouna inside, pointing at me and speaking to another staff member about “this is the guy I told you about.” We sat there for over an hour — until 12:35 am — before calling Bassam directly, who arrived in 10 minutes. Bassam told us no one from reception had asked him to pick us up, which means reception either forgot or deliberately ignored our request. We had to spend 1 hour and 20 minutes sitting at the gate late at night with my family, watching cars go in and out, feeling humiliated and neglected. While most of the staff were friendly, the unprofessionalism and arrogance of one employee ruined the entire experience. In a luxury hotel, one weak link destroys the whole chain. For $5,000, we expected world-class service — not to be stranded at the gate at midnight because of petty behavior and internal staff politics. This was the worst experience we’ve ever had in a hotel, and I share this to warn others before booking. Luxury prices mean nothing without...
Read moreI’ll start by saying this is not a 5-star hotel—honestly, I’d hesitate to even give it four. We stayed for five nights and truly wish we hadn’t:
• I got severe food poisoning on day two—only to learn from a staff member that the hotel uses an ice machine hooked up to tap water for smoothies. At a property charging luxury rates, that’s actually insane.
• No peace or quiet. One night, we were kept up until 5 a.m. by loud neighbours who took furniture from our patio and left trash in our space. On another, a commercial was being filmed on-site—complete with nighttime sound testing and all-day disruption.
• Breakfast was awful. Included in our rate, but we still chose to skip it several times and eat elsewhere (1980 up the road is much better and saved us from a lot of terrible, insanely priced meals at the hotel).
• Room service food was a letdown. We ordered several times for lunch and dinner and the meals consistently arrived barely warm , underwhelming in taste and exorbitantly priced.
• Pricing is all over the place. We were charged 585 EGP for two lemonades ordered from our patio/balcony. The exact same lemonades were listed at 125 EGP each on the room service menu.
• Housekeeping was wildly inconsistent. One day we asked twice for towels that never arrived. Trash wasn’t emptied, and toilet paper wasn’t restocked. The next day? Totally fine. It’s you and your luck.
• The beach is poorly designed. Instead of standard umbrellas, there are small wooden shade panels that offer almost no coverage. You have to constantly chase the shade with your chair or risk getting burned. Parts of the beach were also littered with plastic debris that wasn’t cleaned daily, and the sea entry is so rocky that we had to be guided in and out by the lifeguard.
For a hotel that markets itself as luxury, this was a letdown across the board. I would not return, and I can’t...
