An absolute gem in Luxor. Our stay at Scorpion house was beyond our expectations. Tayeb and his family were extremely generous and friendly. We felt so welcome in their self-built home. (If he doesn’t show you by himself ask to see the pictures of when it was built, so special and cool to see!) The entire experience was very authentic. In comparison to our stay at one of the hotels on the east side this truly was so much nicer. The west side is joked by locals to be “the west side, the best side” and we couldn’t agree more. More smiles and less hassle, a breath of fresh air. Both breakfast and dinner are so so delicious and prepared with so much love. Also for vegetarians out there, you won’t leave hungry. Our room (Aylam) was beautiful. Very romantic, spacious, and colorful. It had a very strong and well working air conditioning unit, a comfortable bed, and made us so happy and grateful just being there. Oh and the animals are so sweet and so well taken care of. Prepare to have your heart stolen over and over again. If you were doubting, don’t. A stay at scorpion house will make your trip to Egypt so much more unique with memories to cherish.

Felt like home since the first hour. Incredibly beautiful oasis in the west bank of luxor. The family who runs it are the sweetest hosts, the food they make is NEXT level & the overall vibe is just so lovely with their dog and cats! (Plus the beds are one of the comfiest i slept in in whole Egypt) Tip: The location seems not central but its perfect!! Super close to the Valley of the kings and to reach the east bank you take the local mini van down to the river and then the local ferry setting u back to 35 pounds to reach the center of luxor (karnak temple luxor temple etc) . And your staying in the quiet part of luxor. No hassle around you.

Stayed one night end of December. The rooms are nice and large. I arrived late in the evening. The guy who greeted me (can’t remember his name) was so friendly - he showed me around and made me a tea. The garden is beautiful and so peaceful. There is also a pool. The hotel can also arrange taxi from the airport. I had to leave at 6:30 am so had asked for a packed breakfast but when I was about to leave there was nobody and breakfast so had to leave. If it were not for that, definitely would have given it 5 stars.

Scorpion House definitely exceeded our expectations, and greatly enhanced our first trip to Egypt.

The owners (Christine from France and Tayep from Egypt) are both archeologists. They are very friendly, and have been great with arranging transportation and providing us with information. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Tayep and his freshly made delicious meal. We all felt at home from the get go. We were a party of 7 of both genders and with ages ranging from mid-20s to mid-60s. We occupied 4 rooms.

The hotel was designed by the owners themselves, and each room is unique. The rooms are very clean and have AC. There are many common seating areas, both indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed spending time in each room, admiring the architecture, Nubian domes and decoration.

The meals were prepared upon our request. We would let Tayep know when we would like to eat, and he was always happy to accommodate us. I definitely recommend eating there. Tayep's an amazing cook! After trying out a series of restaurants in Luxor, Scorpion House ended up being our favorite. He's a master of both Egyptian, and French cooking, and blends the 2 nicely. (And let me add no one of us Europeans had any stomach issues during our trip)

Getting to Luxor Temple was a 10 minute trip consisting of a 5 minute drive, and a lovely 5 minute boat ride across the Nile for 5EGP per person. The boats run 24/7. Tayep arranged a driver for our group of 7, who picked us up on demand and transported to and from the dock. He also drove us to other sights on the West Bank (Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut, etc), and dropped us to the airport as well at a very good price.

We're happy to have stayed in the West bank and not in Luxor, because we enjoyed the more silent and local ambiance and the walks around without the hustling of sellers in Luxor. Also, we found that the majority of the archeological sties we were interested in are actually in the West Bank, so it was all-in-all...

Such an unforgettable stay in Louxor. Safe place, safe friends, safe journey: life was so easy. Thanks to this unique traditional House, Tayeb and Doaa, our guests, ever since our friends, our hearts will stay in Louxor forever. Impeccable services everyday, clean rooms with all the goods we needed, fresh food and dreamy advices to visit Louxor… What a lovely way to discover Egypt like with our family! Everything is easy with Tayeb: the planning before and during the stay, the delightful food, optimising our visits to the tombs, the temples, meeting the welcoming people at the House, the hot balloons for a panoramic view, as well as the local pottery school! There are many drivers, perfectly driving us with a perfect timing. His teams are reliable and truly trustworthy from everywhere, both in East and West banks of the Nile. The Scorpion House neighbourhood is so quiet that we slept like in the countryside. Moreover, he made us live the best New Year Eve we got with friends, family and authentic Egyptian musicians masters. What an epic journey to 2023! Tayeb, we are so sad to leave your temple of peace already. We can only thank you so much for your art of hospitality. Obviously, we will recommend your house to everyone and we’ll be back as soon as possible, as promised. Honestly, our best holidays ever. If only we could give you 10...

Tayeb as we say in arabic is a name truly given to the owner of this house, meaning he is genuinely the nicest host we have met. The service and accommodation was beyond what we expected from the cleanliness, hospitality and overall needs. ||Tayeb and his wife were very helpful when needed and breakfast time felt like we were sitting in our family home. The decor and overall atmosphere made us want to cancel the rest of our activities just so we can spend more time in the guest house. The room as good running cold & hot water, very good AC and very clean. |I would recommend to bring your own towel just for personal hygiene but it is still veryyyy clean. ||We traveled as 2 females friends and we felt extremely safe in a new and remote place which is rare in this day an age. If you are ever visiting Luxor make The Scorpion House your home. ||It is super close to all the activities in the West Bank (by car) : Valley of the kings (5min), Valley of the queens (8min), Hot Air Ballon (10min), Quad Bike Safari (10min). So you definitely get that extra rest and is the last too get pick up and first to get dropped off from your activity. |It is also only a 15min drive to the Nile where you can enjoy dinner by the Nile so definitely not that far and highly recommend. ||Thank you again Tayeb and hope to...
