For you, who don't like detail reading - The resort itself is really perfect, high level, and not only for Egypt, but also European standards. Fully suggested by me. In more details, for more patiant readers, follows here. Immidiattely, once you enter the recepcion hall, you feel all people knows their impacts of the work, and risk of loosing credit of the resort (and the job), if they fail. So they make their best for you to make you feel comfortable. The resort could be split into 6 main parts: -the recepetion main building -the services (Quads, Spa,, Diving center... and others) -the Restaurants -the "private" coral reef & lagoons -the (non)swimming pool -the little market area All the parts are definitivelly the perfect level

To highlite some main points of parts of resort mentione above. The reception is equaly airconditioned, so no real shock when you enter, the receptionists are really professional, speaking sevral languages. Not all languages all people, and not high level, but I would say English, Italian, german, french no big problems, little bit Czech...). In the reception hall you find the big info podters about the desert, sea and coast nature. The main currency in the resorts are EUR, secondary is the USD. Almost everywhere you can pay by cards. The services. You don't need to run around, and lookig for services, except of diving ( there you have to go next to Jetty, there are building with really fair guys, high level of diving knowledge. The other services, there are groups of seller, still walking around the resort, and explain you (some could say pushing 😀 ) their services. Don't be afraid to tray negotiate. Actually, you are in Arabic state anyway. If they are lacking customers, their are open to find goood price for you. If not (Quads & diving usualy), they say you. We have been really satisfied by Quads, Diving in small group with the small boat (they even let my dau the drive it), and massages. The quads, are wonderfull exciting short trip (cca 3hrs in the east Sahara desert) The Restaurants... the level is high. There are three restaurants, the Wadi (main restaurant) next to reception building, the Fish restaurant on the beach and the Pizzeria close to the swimming pool. They always using only the real "packed" drinking water for washing vegetables and cooking. Nobody around us (except one women for one day) got the digest issue for whole stay 11days. Probably only source remain the swimming pool water, if you drink it. The Wadi restaurant make small updates in their menu every day, you can see the list on the restaurant door. The Wadi openning hours are 7:00-10-00 for breakfest, 13:00-15:00 for lunch, and 19:00-21:30 for dinner. The Pizzeria and the Fish I don't remember, we didn't use their service there. We never got hungry there 😀 The Coral reef and lagoons.... no words here, all accesible for resort gusets for free, the best I ever has been seeing. We saw cca 50-100 kinds of fishes/animals living there. If not enough for you, just rent in group the boat and the trip to close island and big lagoon with dive center. We saw even family of dolphines (cca 11 of them) and baby shark (cca 80cm). -the (non)swimming pool, is really refreshing. Not so deep, cca 120cm, the condition swimmingis not really suggested there. But the water is nicely refreshing, temperature similiar to the reef sea water, and colder then the sea lagoon on the beach. There are always enough beds around the pool, and we always found even the table and the seats in the pool bar. The luxury not in quality only, but in even in numbers, let me say. -the "Little market". Guys, I love it. Small markets, carefully chossed by resort management, with handmade products. Necklece, rings, stone and gypsum sculpures, pyramids, obeliscs, papyrus pictures up to few meters papyrus posters, all handmade. The sculpturist, with his cousins, is the artist from long tradition family, right now negotiating with consuls the next exhibition of his...

Where do I begin? An overwhelming luxury holiday!

Marsa Alam Airport, a small airport with no military or police. All security checks here seem like a joke. Please note: we purchased a visa in advance via Sunweb. When you arrive at the relevant counter, the clerk tries to make you pay 2x 30 euros again. This is going into his own pocket, standing firm and not paying. Then suddenly he knows where to find Sunweb's list.

Via the minibus (15 persons) from Sunweb you will arrive at Gorgonia resort in approximately 2 hours, now your carefree holiday can begin! Luggage is lifted and driven to the room in a golf cart. We arrived at 10 pm but they made 3 sandwiches per person in the kitchen. Tip: for a euro or 50 all take 50 cent coins and you can hand out tips. The servants run for you during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every member of staff is friendly and respectful but be aware of the Spa/Health club males, they are quite quick to paw. Also don't fall for the photo shoot scam on the resort. They say very nice 3 euros per photo, but afterwards you come to 375 euros in total. I don't understand how the hotel works with such partners.

The food is truly sublime! Everything very hygienic and well cooked. No large groups of Russians or Ukrainians leaving their plates. Audience is mainly German, Italian, Polish and Dutch.

The biggest problem here is the climate, seawater and bacteria. I have traveled all over South East Asia and Europe, without any problems. Had such a problem with my intestines and stomach here as here. Bring ORS with you! It happened every day, even with my girlfriend. I see this as an external cause that the Resort cannot do anything about.

You have an hour time difference at the resort, Gorgonia time. This means +1 hour so that you have a little longer activities in daylight. The Resort is extremely clean. Cleaner Saber and his colleagues are really great. Swimming pool is a degree or 28, sea no less than 30! degrees (July '22). The room is not bothered by some terribly good free air conditioning which can cool your room completely in 5 minutes. As Sunweb will also tell you: do not set your air conditioning at 21 or something but at about 28 in the night. This prevents you from getting a cold.

If you occasionally want to app and visit a single website, you can use the free WiFi in the foyer, otherwise you have to contact the guys from egyptsim before arrival.

I've had all kinds of holidays (camping, city trips, hotel, backpacking) but nowhere am I as unstressed as here. A very strong recommendation! Sunweb you have done an excellent job in collaboration with this Resort. If the Resort wants to be even more excellent: install modern fitness equipment and ensure that waste is also removed in front of the barrier. At the pool there are no signs to the toilets, this way you work for the easiest solution. Furthermore, the resort should be better prepared for the services that are offered within the resort. I was terribly annoyed by all those annoying salespeople (Spa, massage, photoshoot, beauty salon) at the pool. If you held them off beforehand, they got angry too.

For Sunweb: a Dutch-speaking agent would be nice, especially for the somewhat older target group.

Overall for me without a doubt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I don't see myself coming back here though, the health issues...

Molto pulita e gestita bene.

Our first time booking here and we were immediately very happy. It was a 1.5-hour drive from the airport, and we arrived quite late (around 2 AM), but we were warmly welcomed by Hanny Shaker, who gave us all the ins and outs about the hotel. The hotel is spacious and very clean. Both the rooms and common areas were cleaned thoroughly every day. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. It felt special that the hotel manager came by our table to introduce himself. A small issue came up, but it was fixed right away great service that shows they truly care about guest satisfaction. The buffet food was tasty, though I would’ve loved to see a bit more Egyptian culture in the dishes. As a young couple, we would’ve appreciated a small disco or evening entertainment that lasted a bit longer everything shut down by 11 PM. By the sea, we met some local vendors. Mr. Aladin approached us politely and ended up doing beautiful henna tattoos for both of us. On my request, he also made a custom painting that now hangs proudly on our wall. Big shout-out to Hanny and Mamhout from the restaurant team for making our stay unforgettable. Thank you, thank you!
