Me and my family stayed at Akassia Swiss Resort from 25 February until 11 March 2023. We booked our all-inclusive stay with TUI.
Location
The resort is located north of Marsa Alam airport. Transfer from the airport takes some time but can be quite the adventure mostly due to the way Egyptians drive. I don’t think they have any traffic regulations. Akassia Swiss Resort is located in the middle of nowhere so take that into account when planning your trips. It has its own private beach and snorkeling spots. Beautiful coral reef and colorful fish are definitely worth seeing.

Weather
During our stay we enjoyed temperatures from 23degC to 29degC, sun and slight breeze from the sea - truly great winter conditions. At the same time Egyptians wore long sleeves and jackets because of the cold 🥶

Room and cleaning
Our room was ok, nothing too fancy and a bit wore down. We did not use it much as we stayed outside for most of the time. The room was cleaned everyday and the cleaning guys did a good job, were very nice and helpful and surprised us with flowers and towel art.
Special thanks to Ayman Mahmoud for outstanding performance and friendly attitude. Great service!

Grounds
Resort grounds are very well kept. Grass is nicely cut, plants are well taken care of and general composition of flowers is pleasing to the eye. There is also a turtle house and you can actually feed the turtles - great fun for kids. @AkassiaResort I hope the ground keepers are paid well.
Special thanks to the turtle guy.

Food
Food was ok. Egyptian cuisine was present so it was not only international bland food. Evening meals were varied and quite good. Lunch service was good. Breakfast was ok with limited selection. Fruits and sweets were very sweet and tasty. Panorama restaurant and Al Castello restaurant were very good and had excellent service.
Rating 4/5
Drinks
Drinks were not very good. Neither soft nor alcoholic drinks were up to the standard. Tea and coffee were good only in few places and horrible at the pool bar. Mineral water was probably the best drink available.
Rating 1/5
Service
In general service was good. At reception desk there was only one person who was a bit rude and seemed not to understand any languages but all the other staff was very professional and friendly. Lobby bar, beach bar, Panorama restaurant, Al Castello restaurant and beach restaurant had excellent service. Main restaurant had mostly good service. Pool bar had terrible service. If you want to get a decent coffee or drink or whatever - don’t go to the pool bar.
Special mentions for excellent service:
Rabeh Salah from reception desk - thank you for professionalism, patience and help with every single request.
Fawzy Shokry for great smile, friendliness and very good omelettes. You always brightened the mood. Thank you 🙏
Ibrahim A. Zeid for smile, professionalism and extra efforts. Thank you 🙏
Hazem Samir for great service and friendliness. Children adored you. Thank you 🙏
Said Mohamed for great and professional service and attitude. You should work at a Michelin Star restaurant. Thank you 🙏

Fun
Aqua park was fun, both the kids section and adult section. Wave pools were not operational at the time of our stay. Other pools were very nice and one of them was heated. The beach was really nice with sun beds, swimming area and two platforms. Tennis court was available as well as billiard.
Rating 4/5
Animation team
Evening performances were ok. In my opinion Fakir show, Belly dancing and Cobra show were worth watching. The rest was so-so. As for other entertainment, I have a feeling the animation team started to work in the middle of our second week there. It seems managers started to show up at that time, because services everywhere improved. Animations for children were not very good. They mostly meant watching children's films. Luckily, there were exceptions to that rule.
Special thanks to Lu and Aya - you added 2 point to the team rating.

Read moreWe stayed at Akassia Swiss Resort with our family for the second year in a row — and that fact alone speaks for itself. Once again, we had a fantastic experience. What really makes this place stand out is the exceptional service.||The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. The reception team was always helpful, the towel staff greeted us with smiles every day, and the groundskeeping crew worked tirelessly to keep the resort green and beautiful. But the true stars are the waiters — especially when it comes to interacting with children.||Two gentlemen deserve special recognition:||Mr. Hosny Moubarak, who exemplifies class and outstanding service — he made us feel truly special.||Mr. Hesham Sameh, who took care of us every single day with dedication and genuine warmth.||These two served us most frequently, but it's worth noting that the entire restaurant team delivered top-quality service.||The resort itself is large, but that’s not a problem thanks to the regular shuttle service (like mini taxis). We often rode with Mr. Hassan Mohamed, who was always kind and helpful.||Last year, I missed having watermelons at meals — there were plenty of other fruits, just not my favorite. This time, they were not only available but also especially delicious. The food overall was great. Breakfasts might have felt a bit repetitive, but only when compare to the dinners, which had a different theme every night and were consistently excellent.||The animation team also deserves praise — full of energy, very friendly, and always ready to help.||If I had to point out one downside compared to last year, it would be the towel animals (or lack thereof!). In 2024, every day brought a fun surprise for my kids — elephants, swans, and all sorts of creatures made from towels. This year, it seems our housekeeping guy wasn't quite as artistic 😉. Still, he kept the room clean and tidy, which is the most important part.||We also recommend trying the quad safari, organized by the ever-smiling Bibo. One big plus: the vehicle parking is located right by the hotel, so you don’t waste time traveling to the desert. The tour was well-organized, safe, and the guides were very professional. They even offered to take pictures with our phones — despite also selling pro photo/video packages.||As expected, the trip included a stop at a Bedouin camp, where you can sample and buy teas, oils, and other local products. Normally, I’m not a fan of these detours, but this one was different — the presenter was friendly, multilingual (I mean, this guy was speaking every language in the world, during presentation he was able to speak Polish, Slovakian, German, Italian and English), and not pushy at all. The whole trip lasted about 3 hours and I can recommend it without hesitation.||To sum up — we are very happy with our stay and the overall experience. Just keep in mind: the hotel is in the middle of the desert, so you can’t really explore the area on your own. Fortunately, the resort has everything you need: a fun aquapark, good Wi-Fi, and a beautiful coral reef. One last note: it can get quite windy in this region, so access to the reef from the piers may be restricted on some days. Thankfully, you can still enjoy the shallow areas of the sea, which are also full of...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at the Akassia Swiss Resort in Marsa Alam – El Quseir and I must say, it was an amazing experience. From start to finish, everything was just perfect.. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that made me feel right at home. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Mr.Hosni Abdel Magied, the guest relation manager, an extremely professional and attentive person, ensuring that all our needs were met and that my stay was as comfortable as possible. He went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience and all of our group of four truly appreciate his efforts. The resort is situated in a stunning location, right on the Red Sea, with breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscape. The crystal-clear waters were perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. The beach was clean and well-maintained, and enjoyed lounging on the sand and soaking up the sun, as well as near the heated pool in the vicinity of the Pool bar, where we enjoyed the fantastic cocktails expertly crafted by the very friendly bartenders. The resort itself is simply stunning, by the sea, with beautiful grounds and amazing facilities. 2 main restaurants, one inside and one by the sea, 3 a la carte restaurants, shopping center, pharmacy, kids club diving center, spa, tennis court, biiig(!) aqua park, one of the best natural lagoon, open air gyms, olympic pool, wave pool, another big 2 pools ( one heated), pool stage (where every night we enjoyed different shows!) are some of the recalled facilities . The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with a fantastic view of the sea from our beds, with all the amenities I needed to make my stay enjoyable. The beds was extremely comfortable, and we had everything we needed to feel right at home. Every day we came back from the sun bathing we were welcomed by very nice towel ornaments decorated with flowers and purple basil. What a wonderful scent! The food was absolutely delicious and varied, with plenty of options to suit all tastes and the restaurant`s location by the Red Sea made for some of the most breathtaking views I have ever seen. Every day we enjoyed local and international cuisine, many types of grilled food, fruits, mouth-wattering deserts, accompanied by a large variety of soft and alchoholic beverages. But what really made my stay at Akassia Swiss Resort so special was the staff. They were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure I had a fantastic stay. From the reception staff to the waiters, everyone was always ready with a smile and a kind word. I cannot helped myself not to mention Said, the most friendly and hospitable waiter, always eager to assist with anything we needed and made every meal a delightful experience. His warm smile and friendly demeanor made us feel so welcomed and appreciated.Overall, our stay at Akassia Swiss Resort was exceptional, beyound and above. We can't wait to come back to this little piece of paradise in the future and experience it all again. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, and unforgettable holiday...
