Shortly: Great location, bad human service(especially speed of service), near the great kitchen, poor guest relations in general. Whether is windy (15+kph), water was +23, the pool is as same cold 23-24
More info follows (long read) Our stay was 30Apr-7May 2021. We arrived at the best, new, most popular Egypt hotel network (JAZ) in hope of getting great service and comfort.
Sea/shore: Turtles always swim and eat grass 100 m from the shore Dugong need a long search Take a facemask and flippers, if you wanna see those. Small crabs are always can be found at left/right on the beach. Enter to the sea is wonderful, 99% of sand, elevation change is small. to get 1m depth to need to walk ~5m. 2m - 20m.
Staff/service Very important for us is a relation in service, for example: At the order of drink, I received a response that such drink is cannot be done, but it's one of the most popular code drink. Specifically is Americano with milk. So instead of the question hot is milk should be, just It's cannot be done... Front office at reception simply ignoring guest requests. Even seeing/meet General Manager is a HUGE challenge. But after you do this quest, the reaction is better, pretty slow, and incomplete.
Pool bar/Beach bar In an attempt to get juice, I waited over 5 min in the queue which was 9 people, and only 1 person on another side of the bar. (see the video in comment) Waiting for the possibility of order, without any order, no FIFO rule, or even close to it. With queue present itself (video example). At 16:01, because of the queue, I was rejected to order salad... To order cafe in worst case scenario you can stay up to 15min (another guests case) The lobby bar is nice (however not always working), freshes(mango, strawberry...) are present there. Beach bar is slow, Islam (name of worker) is pushing hard to make it queueless, but, rest are don't.
Room (We was in 1007) The bathroom smells bad...looks like sewerage(toilet) No second key, how are people with 3 and more ppl can use their room?! Water leakage from a crane. Doorstopper damaged. Balcone door barely closed
The bathroom door deadlocked (no one could open it), so 1 man closed himself in the bathroom and stayed there for over 1h in an attempt to free him out. (another guests case) The second root key finally received in the day3. On day 4 all keys were not working. Day 5 keys need one more reception visit.
After several compliances room was replaced to 4010 Which was a bit better, but still had issues: Water leakage from a shower. Vent Fan was not working.
General Elevator we were in the elevator and the girl grabbed the handrail and it fell with terrible force on the floor of the elevator, barely past her leg.
Room service (housekeeping) Nice. But towels replace unclear and missing hair conditioner, shampoo, etc...you should ask for it from House Keeping (LOL) :-\
Kitchen It's really hotels diamond 💎, but my personal opinion in some dishes has an overmuch of pepper. The pizza was not always ready. Breakfast missing hot milk. You should be ready to stay in a large queue(10+ppl), if you wanna some shrimps/Salmon/crabs/smoked meat.
Alacard fish restaurant: 20m waited to make an order (hopefully will be fixed in few months) 20m to make dishes, making a 40min for nothing... Great fish dishes (but not that big)
Ordered 2xshrimps and 2xSalmon, the wife did 1x Salmon
Pool Pretty cold (+23-24C) There is dirt on the bottom.
Internet: Not stable.Pretty good on reception. Rest places (rooms, beach, pool...etc) needed an improvement. If you need a stable line, get Vodafone (We operator is not covered here).
Entertainments Tennis Small football (this one needs a large speak), was incorrectly assembled LOL (see the first comment photo). Barely explained how it should be haha... (over 2month from opening LOL)Bocha, volleyball, and so on.
So in general staff is not active at providing a guest request, and looks like not interested in it. They better will talk between themself, instead of asking quest, what he would like.
A very important moment for...

Read moreThis is our 12th stay in Egypt and our first visit to the Iberotel Costa Mares. It is outstanding! Everything is so beautiful, loving, and clean.
The rooms are spacious and modern with a touch of Scandinavian. You feel very comfortable in it. The bathroom is wide open and clean and there is no mold at all.
We only used the main restaurant for dinner and the food was really good and varied. Everyone always finds something he likes, parents or children.
The pool area is nice, big enough, and clean. The main pool is 1.20m which is enough for swimming but also safe for larger kids to play in the pool somewhat unattended. Many filter systems always clean the water automatically, so you never swim with unwanted stuff.
The beach is perfect! Enough sunbeds for everyone and the parasols are far enough apart so that guests do not feel crowded. In the sea, the highlights are the sea turtles (at least 5) and for sure the dugong! It is stunning to see these types of animals in the wild. Absolutely amazing. Just go to the beach and swim with them before the excursion boats arrive and you’ll receive a one-time experience in your life!
The bars are great. The drink selection is fantastic and all cocktails taste incredibly good, whether with or without alcohol. Here you see a huge difference between the quality of the used ingredients and who serves them (kudos to Moaaz) in comparison to other hotels we used to be in.
The animation team was also great. They always kept the balance between asking you to join in and being too pushy. It was very entertaining. Special thanks go to Shams, he is very nice - especially in dealing with the kids.
The only drawback is that there is no pharmacy inside or outside the hotel. Therefore, you have to go to the doctor for every little thing. Unfortunately, this is quite expensive.
All this together makes it a very good hotel. But there is another important point that makes this vacation unique and that is the people who work here. In other hotels, you feel there is a put-on-friendliness but here you feel that the people really care.
First and foremost Moaaz at the pool bar. He is one of the friendliest people I have ever met on vacation. Always in a good mood, with full passion at work and he always has an open ear for all the needs of the guests. He makes all extra wishes possible, because he is, as he says himself only satisfied when you are satisfied. In addition, he has helped my daughter, who unfortunately became ill, to get well again by providing a specially compounded tee and trying to get „Antinal“ in his spare time (!) even without any paying, because this medicine wasn’t available at the hotel. We never encountered this type of guest relationship before! Thank you very very much for that and our beautiful and interesting conversations.
On the beach there is Mahmoud, he always cares about that you can see the dugong and tells you where you have to go to see it. We also enjoyed the conversations with him, who gave us some insights and tips on where to see the different see animals. Thank you.
Do we come back? Yes, we will! On the one hand, of course, because of the hotel. But the far more important reason is because of the extremely good guest service by Mahmoud and...
