The Albatros Sea World Hotel in Egypt is a very pleasant place that offers solid conditions for relaxation, although with some minor shortcomings that may affect the comfort of your stay. I rate my stay, which I had the pleasure of taking from March 27 to April 3, 2025, as generally very good. The hotel is well-maintained, spacious, and the staff is polite and helpful. Despite a few comments I make below, the overall stay left a positive impression. One of the main downsides I would like to share was the monotonous food. The same dishes were offered every day, which made meals quite boring. This was especially true of breakfast, which was identical throughout the stay. The queues for dishes prepared "live" were quite long, and the staff had difficulty keeping up with the large number of guests. Perhaps this was due to the fact that the hotel was not fully operational at the peak of the season, but it would have been nice if the culinary offer was more varied. What's more, for those traveling with children, like me, the lack of a children's menu can be a challenge. We had some difficulty finding suitable meals for a 2.5-year-old child. In addition, the snack bar offer was insufficient and its opening hours were too short. The child slept from 12:00 to 15:00, lunches were only served until 14:30, and dinner did not start until 18:00. The snack bars lacked good food options, which made it difficult to satisfy hunger during this time. Despite the rather windy weather, we enjoyed the heated pools, which were a great solution, especially since the weather at that time was not conducive to swimming in the outdoor pool. Unfortunately, the aqua park area did not have a water heating option, so we could not use it. The hotel should definitely work on heating the water in this part to allow the aqua park to be used regardless of weather conditions. One of the biggest pluses of the stay was the presence of lifeguards at the pools and in the beach area. There were enough of them, which made us feel safe, especially when traveling with a child. The lifeguards were very nice and helpful – one of them even helped us organize sun loungers by the pool, which was a very nice gesture. The hotel can also boast a nice playground, which provided a lot of fun for our child. Unfortunately, the sand on the playground contained some stones, which was uncomfortable for playing children. In addition, the number of attractions on the playground could be increased. It is also worth considering expanding this area, including additional benches for parents who want to relax while their children play. Although the indoor pool was available, its condition left much to be desired. It looked abandoned, and the atmosphere around it was not inviting. When the weather was too windy, we wanted to use this pool, but its appearance and technical condition made us not want to stay in this place for long. To sum up, the stay at Albatros Sea World was successful and definitely a plus, but a few aspects, such as food, the condition of the indoor pool, the lack of amenities for parents on the playground, the snack bar offer, the quality of the sand, and the number of attractions on the playground, should be improved. Despite these minor shortcomings, the hotel offers a comfortable stay and it is worth considering this property for a...
Read moreAlthough the hotel itself is very good and offers a pleasant stay, unfortunately, my overall experience has been overshadowed by poor communication with the staff.
I stayed for 10 days and had been trying to arrange either an extra night or a late checkout for nearly a week before my departure. I approached the reception three times — a week before, three days before, and the day before my checkout. Every time, I was told to come back later or that it would be checked. In the end, on the very last day, I was informed that it was not possible.
In my opinion, this is very poor service. Hotel staff should be transparent and provide clear answers in advance, especially when such requests are made well ahead of time. Room availability and bookings are not usually decided at the last minute, so this lack of clarity felt unprofessional and disappointing.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as it really affected what could have been a great stay.
Edit 1:
Dear Guest Relation Team,
Thank you for your reply and for taking the time to address my feedback. I fully understand that late check-out or extending the stay depends on the hotel’s occupancy and availability on a specific day.
However, my concern was not simply that the option was unavailable, but rather the way it was handled. For nearly a week before my departure, I asked about the possibility three times (a week before, three days before, and the day before check-out). Each time, I was told to come back later, only to be informed at the very last moment that it was not possible. This repeated postponement felt unprofessional and caused unnecessary stress.
Additionally, I would like to point out that hotel reservations are generally not decided from one day to the next. If a guest wishes to purchase an additional night, it should normally be possible to confirm this at least a week in advance. Could you please clarify: how many days in advance should a guest request an extra night in order to receive a clear and confirmed answer? This would help avoid similar situations in the future and improve communication with your guests.
Finally, I would also like to mention that phone calls from reception to my room after I had posted my review felt unnecessary, especially if their only purpose was to repeat that “this is the policy one day before.” Such information should have been provided clearly at the reception desk in the first place — and, frankly, it is unusual when it comes to booking an additional night.
I also regret to mention that when I checked your website later, there were still available rooms for the same dates. This makes it even more disappointing that I was told only on the very last day that extending my stay was...
