A Truly Magical Experience at The Oasis Dive Resort I’ve traveled extensively around the world, but my stay at The Oasis Dive Resort in Egypt was truly the best vacation of my life. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the exceptional friendliness, professionalism, and warmth of the staff. As a solo female traveler, I was a bit apprehensive, but this resort exceeded every expectation. The staff treated me with so much respect, kindness, and attentiveness that I never once felt uncomfortable. Special thanks to Kiro from the dive center, who went above and beyond to ensure all my wishes came true without expecting anything in return. His dedication and kindness left a lasting impression. Diving Perfection As an Open Water Instructor myself, I can confidently say the dive center was exceptionally well-organized, with rental equipment in pristine condition. The dive guides were not only super friendly but also incredibly professional, always prioritizing safety. The dive sites were breathtaking—featuring some of the healthiest coral reefs I’ve ever seen, including exclusive spots not frequented by others. Every dive was both relaxing and awe-inspiring. The magical experience of diving at Elphinstone, especially with my buddy Lena, was unforgettable. Hotel Excellence The resort itself was just as incredible. The staff’s authentic friendliness and constant smiles created such a welcoming atmosphere, particularly for solo travelers like myself. My Standard Bungalow was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered a stunning sea view. Even the minibar prices were fair! The food was delicious, and the restaurant, reception, restrooms, dive center, and pool area were all spotless. Everything about the resort radiated care and attention to detail. A Special Kind of Magic The overall vibe of The Oasis Dive Resort is something special. Even the guests were incredibly kind and lovely—it felt like we were one big family from day one. When people ask me about my vacation, I tell them: “It wasn’t just fantastic—it was magic.” Also, thanks again to Kiro for all his efforts (Elphinstone etc :-)!!! And lovely Lena for being my buddy at Elphinstone <3 Special thanks also to Samu and Ali, two of the most professional guides I’ve ever had the pleasure of diving with. My deepest gratitude to the entire team at The Oasis Dive Resort and Dive Center for making this the most unforgettable holiday of my life!

At "The Oasis Dive Resort" you get what it says on the tin - a pure dive resort. No superfluous or purely decorative additions. For ecological reasons, for example, there is no complete lawn and bush planting, Which seems strange in otherwise barren Egypt anyway. The main building with reception is very tidy and becaude of the WiFi it is the evening hotspot for reading and sending messages. The neighboring building with the diving center on the ground floor and the restaurant on the first floor is in the same style and very good. Breakfast and dinner were characterized by a large selection of very fresh fruit and local dishes. Another point for protecting the environment. The diving center immediately makes a tidy and clean impression. The overview and planning of the dives for the coming days is very well organized. The rental equipment makes a flawless impression. All of the staff, from the airport pick-up, to reception and restaurant staff, to the base staff, were without exception friendly and helpful. Some guides were even able to hold briefings in German, and English was always available and very good. The helpers in the background with bottles and equipment also did their part to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. The only limiting shortcoming was some structural defects in the room. The bathroom light was only held to the ceiling by its cables and the toilet bowl was not anchored to the floor. Otherwise, the rooms offered everything you need for a pure diving holiday.

No joke - this was the worst experience we've ever had. They didn't give a —-- about safety!

Yeah, the food was great, the rooms were nice, and the local staff were gems. But the dive center? A complete disaster. Looks like they expanded too fast and hired people who didn't care two straws about safety or being professional.

Diving:

Our "instructor" was all shades of wrong. He went full-on aggressive, especially with an older diver who had an ear problem and needed a bit of kindness, not someone screaming at her. Equipment issues? Oh, we had a bunch! Dive computers shutting down mid-dive. My girlfriend's stopped working after a few minutes, same happened to another diver the day before, BCDs that needed a strongman to operate, and one even missing a purge valve. You can't make this stuff up!

Snorkeling:

They messed up our headcount! When my girlfriend dared to point this out, she was met with a verbal lashing from a feisty, tattooed Belgian. Not the kind of exchange you'd expect on a vacation!

Instructions for the snorkeling route were as clear as mud. One guy says one thing (route A), another says something else and says route A is super dangerous! Who were we supposed to listen to?

Oh, and they totally FORGOT about us for the second round of snorkeling. But hey, they remembered to charge us the full price. Nice, right?

I could go on, but you get the gist.

Bottom line, this was the absolute pits. Drawing from a diving journey that began in 2005 and has taken me to over 15 different countries, I can unequivocally say that this was the rock-bottom of my diving experiences. They were irresponsible, one of them was a bully, and their communication skills were worse than a two-year-old's. That might slide in a hotel, but on...
