Makany Makanak Camp is located in the heart of National Park Abu Galloum. The place is a sanctuary where all elements co-exist in balance and the very essence of life is lived. A brotherhood of men, living from their heart form the home basis of a (global) community with brothers and sisters from surrounding camps and from all over the world. I did not know what to expect when booking my journey in this place. What I found was home, family, community, unconditional love and caretaking, protection, safety and a free flow of divine inspiration and creative expression. Healthy nourishing foods are slow cooked throughout the day with so much loving energy and fresh local products.
Everyone who comes here is invited to step into a process of co-living an co-creating. Eating together and gathering around the campfire at night making music and singing. It’s a place to connect with deep (inner) silence and peace. For healing and being. It does not get any more real than this.
This place is for people that can appreciate and embrace the real luxuries and natural gifts of life. For people that can treat this place of harmony with the respect it deserves and who have the ability and intention to adapt to the rhythm of natural living, this is paradise. It’s not a 5-star resort as you find in other places. This place offers a 5-dimensional experience of co-creation focussed on free flow and now-living. Flowing with abundance by living simple.
As a single traveling woman, I have felt immensely safe residing in the loving home and care of Mostafa, Osama, Abu Ali and others around. This enabled me to dive deep into myself and found fundamental answers to existential life questions and deep healing. I’ve learned so much from their embodied wisdom of authentic living in balance with all aspects of life, healthy boundaries and sharing unconditionally within community. I feel immensely grateful to have found this treasure that resembles such beauty and true connection, deeply nourishing my soul and opening me up in beautiful and sacred ways.
Thank you, my other Sinaï...

If you come here, you are part of the family, no matter how long you stay. You will always be well fed,, well drunk and have all the comforts of home. Conditions are rather ascetic: huts made of straw and palm leaves, with very good ventilation by wind, toilet and shower (cold) separately on the street. There was often no water on tap. I was in winter (29.12-8.01) and a sleeping bag at night and on windy days helped me a lot + the camp provides 2 or more warm blankets. There is no washing machine. I recommend taking a sufficient supply of clothes for the whole time you stay in the camp. If you drink a lot of water - I recommend bringing a bottle with you or buying it from Mostafa. The camp is filled and attended by amazing, unique, talented people, you will always have the opportunity to socialise and broaden your horizons. Know how to play an instrument, this could be the place to showcase your talent. If you want to take a break from the city noise, enjoy the unity with nature, maybe gain a little weight (the food prepared by Mostafa and the team, you can eat on both cheeks and ask for more), feel yourself a part of a warm and sincere family - this is the place for you 🫶
And also the camp is well guarded and the staff care about the safety of their guests! I felt safe and secure here, even when sleeping under the...
Read more5 stars for the geniune kindness and smiling faces of the hosts, Mustafa and Yara. During our stay in February for 3 nights, there were only 2 more guests besides us so everything was so relax that it seemed like time was not a concern anymore 🙃 Although we never knew what time we will any day; satisfying, fulfilling and delicious meals served always worth the waiting. Someone with high or even not so high expectation of standards may be dissatisfied since the limited availability of supplies and services hinders the accomodation quality. But in the end, this is place is not easy to access and it is understable that logistics must be problematic. Cleanliness and hygene may also be an issue in general if you are a little bit sensitive. Also it is cold and windy at night in winter and we were glad that we came with our tent and sleepings bags to sleep in the hut. So, consider that before planning a long stay. Also, we were asked extra for the drinking water provided to fill our bottles for the reason that it is outsourced. I would give Makany Camp 3 stars if I rated the comfort but its people have stars...
