If you want to be scammed and have the worst experience of your life, this is the place to be. My family and I had the absolute worst experience at this place. I read all the negative reviews but I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. That turned out to be the worst decision ever. I have travelled to many countries and I have never experienced anything like this place. The customer service was horrendous. We didn’t even get to go passed the reception as we couldn’t take the disrespect and refused to stay there. Even though I lost all my money, as they wouldn’t refund me anything but expected me to pay more right there and then as they said I had only paid for 3 adults and we were four. I have 2 grownup teenagers, when I book all the hotels in El Salvador, I obviously booked for 4 as it is kind of hard to hide a teenager!!! Apparently their system was showing I only paid for 3 and the little girl at reception, was not only extremely rude but condescending and nasty toward us. As soon as we got out of our vehicle, instead of saying hello or welcome, she said: you’re four and you only paid for 3! I showed her screenshots of my reservation where they had charged me for the 4th person. I showed her 2 weeks worth of reservations across El Salvador where I had booked for 4 persons but no matter what I said or did she demanded an extra $50 for the “extra person” I had paid close to $300 for the room, the extra $50 meant nothing to me but the feeling of being robbed and disrespected was too much for me and my family. Not to mention that we got there after 6pm as we were coming back from climbing the Santa Ana Volcano. So not only we were there late and exhausted but we were treated like criminals when they were the ones trying to rob us! We walked out of there, knowing that we would lose our $300 but we couldn’t stay in such a toxic environment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. We ended staying at CARDEDEU and that experience was amazing. Do yourself a huge favour and listen to the bad reviews. Read moreWe were looking for something special for my Girlfriend's Birthday. The rooms are nice and with a great view. We booked the most expensive room for 2 nights (450$) and in this price category I expect a certain level of service.
I went to the Barkeeper during lunch and asked him if he could arrange something special for my Girlfriend's Birthday dinner. The answer was sure he could arrange a nice table in the garden and that was fine for me. We did not want a fancy thing, just something small, to make it bit more special as the first dinner. Sadly, when we entred the Restaurant at dinner time, there was nothing prepared and we sat in the Restaurant, as the spot that we were promised was occupied by someone else. Moreover, without us knowing, our friend contacted the hotel and payed for a bottle of champagne for our dinner as a surprise. We have never gotten that bottle, as the team forgot to give it to us. We went to the room a bit frustrated with the outcome, as she told us that there will be a surprise.
The next day for breakfast, the waiter came and said, that we did not consumed the bottle of champagne yesterday for dinner (of course not, as we did not even know, that this was the surprise). When I asked him, why did you not tell us yesterday he said, because you ordered white wine. I called him out and told him that he must have forgotten about the offered bottle. He came clear and he admitted his fault. That means, he tried to blame it first to me, instead of admit it right from the start.
This is not a behavior, I am willing to accept in such a expensive hotel. I asked for the manager but he was not there.
Maybe he will read my post and get an idea what is happening when he is not around.

What I do want to mention is that for motorized and non-motorized lake activity they have a separate company (not part of hotel) that If you do end up staying here do not rent their jet skis. The price may seem cheap but there’s a catch to it. Their jet skis are not in the greatest condition although it looks good on the outside. I’m an experienced jet ski driver but my passenger has knee problems so we were just going to stick to the side of the lake, going slow to take pictures. We were just going straight the whole time. It hasn’t even been 5 mins leaving from the hotel and the minute I released the gas lever (engine was still on) the jet ski started turning and tipping over without me turning the handle in any way. It wasn’t that choppy and there were no near by boats or other jet skis that cause enough wake to tip us over. We were lucky we were near the shore that people saw us and called for help. I guess the locals all know which jet skis is whose. A guy that worked for where we rented the jet ski came to pick us up. He was nice But the guy who received us was not nice. after explaining to them what happened he still wanted us to pay for the full hr rental when it wasn’t even near that time. We understand we have to pay extra for someone to get us but it’s not right to make us pay for the hr when we only used it for 5 mins. I don’t know their company name since it didn’t say that on their sign. But what a disappointment. He could have at least only charged us the 30 mins rental. So pls DO NOT USE THEIR JET SKI.
