El Pinabete Finca & Cabañas — Hotel in Departamento de Chalatenango

This hotel has its own unique experience to it, unlike any other mountain resort we had visited before. Getting there is a very steep road that will eventually turn into a dirt road, so an all wheel drive vehicle with good ground clearance is a plus, although many 2 wheel drive SUV's made it to the hotel. NOTE: be VERY careful when driving back down as the road back is 5 miles of a steep incline that must be driven slowly in high gears to avoid overheating the brakes. ||||For first time visitors it is advised that you call the hotel first, they will give you the name of the cellphone carriers that still have a signal up there. Keep their phone number handy in case you make a wrong turn and need directions, like we did. Personally, I would recommend printing out the google map instructions, as some GPS applications may lose connectivity or lag and take you elsewhere.||||Once we arrived the place, we were greeted by Pablo, who was an extraordinary host. He is in charge of a short walk around the woods, lighting up a bonfire at night for all the guests to get together and know each other and for taking you to a nearby river. The activities were all on schedule and offer nice views, just beware that the terrain is rugged, steep and might get slippery with loose soil. ||||The cabin is adequate for a couple with two children. Inside you will find a queen size bed and 2 bunk beds for children, although an adult can sleep comfortably on the bottom bed. ||||The weather gets chilly at night, so make sure you bring sweaters and some additional blankets if you are not used to the cold. The days are bright and windy in case you want to use sunblock it is also advisable. ||||The food is delicious and some packages include dinner of the day you arrive plus a snack (coffee with dessert), breakfast and lunch of the next day. The eggs with bacon is a great choice for breakfast! ||||The BEST part of everything is that this hotel is pet friendly, so you can bring your pet for an additional fee. They also have their own pet, Renzo, who is very friendly, but will keep his distance if not invited. My 4 pups had a great time exploring around and visiting the river. Just make sure you bring them warm clothing and blankets for the night and to keep them on a leash all the time as they may be tempted to wander off. What we normally do is bring along long ropes to tie their leashes to, so they can walk around more freely. The additional length on the leashes came in very handy when going up and down the steep terrain allowing me for a better footing on the loose soil. ||||This was a great overall experience, except for the fact that we made a wrong turn on our way out and had to take an alternate road for about 5 miles to get back to the highway.||||Highly...

POSITIVO: El lugar me parece excelente, aunque no tuve la oportunidad de hospedarme ni acampar quede con una buena imagen para hacerlo en el futuro, ya sea en pareja o familia. La comida y servicio me estuvo muy bueno y hay bastantes actividades que se pueden realizar para no aburrirse, todo en un entorno tranquilo y natural. Usar el pitcar es muy divertido, lo recomiendo. El paseo por el bosque, aunque corto, es muy agradable.

NEGATIVO: Pese a que fui cuando iniciaba la temporada alta muchos de los atractivos promocionados de manera principal no estaban en servicio o eran deficientes. De las 4 bicicletas en alquiler, solo 2 funcionaban, una para niños y una para adultos, las demas tenian fallas que son de fácil (y barata) solución pero se notaba que no tienen planes en absoluto de repararlos en el futuro próximo. El Paintball fue otro servicio que no estaba disponible, solo me quede con las ganas; de nuevo una decepción porque si van comenzando temporada alta uno esperaría que estén bien preparados.

CONSEJO: las mesas de jardin son super hermosas para estar ahi, pero solo aconsejo comer refrigerios en ese lugar y no tiempos de comida completos porque se enfrian muy rápido. Por suerte el area de comedor es muy bonita y la comida no se afecta mucho por...

La habitación que pagué era fea, oscura, pequeña que literalmente solo cabe la cama y 2 personas juntas no caben ahi, no entiendo como es que todo el mundo diga que es el mejor lugar, parece que les han pagado para que den buenas puntuaciones y buenos comentarios, estuve solo 10 min porque no me gustó el lugar y no me quisieron reintegrar el 100% del dinero solo porque me dijeron que tenia que cubrir los gastos de la reserva, no utilicé nada de ese lugar ni le robé espacio a nadie más porque literalmente solo estábamos mi novio y yo en todo el lugar, no me dieron nada que les incurriera en gastos como para no querer devolverme el dinero completo, es mentira que dicen que la calle está pavimentada porque está fatal el tramo pavimentado son como 100 metros y está bien lejos de donde está el lugar pueda que la zona verde del lugar sea bonita pero esas habitaciones son espantosas por eso es que no se encuentran fotos de referencia de las habitaciones mas pequeñas porque dan pena verlas y como ellos saben de la realidad que tienen lo que hacen es ofrecer otra habitación para solventar solo si hay disponibilidad pero en realidad eso es engañar a los consumidores, no lo recomendaría ni siquiera con una estadía...
