My sister signed me up for a membership to Bahia del Sol. They promised a lot of amenities and discounts. When I came to the hotel in person myself, I was disappointed. I walked into my room/cottage and the furniture had mold on it. The bathroom and bedroom were nothing special. No decor. You would think the room would have been nice because it was one with a private jacuzzi. The jacuzzi itself needed a face lift. The bed had ants crawling all around. I also tried to make a reservation for my brother in law because as I stated before I became a member of this establishment and would receive discounts for guests. I had to book another hotel 12min away because Bahia was completely booked. When I went to see my brother in law’s hotel it was a lot nicer and I regretted the membership. I did not complain or put in a request for another room because I was on a time crunch and needed to go somewhere for the next day and would be returning the following day. I was told because I was a member and pay a monthly membership, that I would only be charged what I consumed but they still charged me and my husband a minimum spending amount of $80 a day which was supposed to be waived because of my membership. I paid over $300 for something in my eyes was not worth it (that does not include my monthly membership payment). I did however like that there was karaoke on Saturday night and opened up a dance “club” above the restaurant with a DJ. The drinks however, were disgusting and disappointing. The bartenders would benefit from a consultant coming in and showing them how to properly set up a bar and make drinks. This place has a lot of potential but needs someone to show the employees how to make proper drinks and give the rooms a facelift. Additionally, it would be nice if the sales team communicated with the rest of their team, what membership was sold to each person so there is no confusion on what the members are entitled to.

We stayed at Hotel Bahía del Sol this past weekend, and unfortunately, we would not return or recommend it to anyone we know. The rooms are old and in serious need of maintenance. Our townhouse had a broken kitchen window that let in mosquitoes, a hole in the ceiling by the entrance where rainwater pooled at the bottom of the stairs (very unsafe), and clogged bathroom sinks that emitted a strong sewage odor. We also saw cockroaches, and one of the sliding doors didn’t close or lock properly, leaving our belongings vulnerable. The resort layout is poorly designed. If you stay on the lagoon side, expect to walk 10–15 minutes to the beach side for every meal—unless the hotel changes the meal location without notice, which happened during our stay. There’s no shuttle service, golf cart, or any transportation option provided, which is a major inconvenience in the heat. On a positive note, the tiki bar on the lagoon side was worth the additional cost. The drinks and service there were much better than what was included in the all-inclusive package. Unfortunately, staff interactions were inconsistent and sometimes rude. The rules seemed to change depending on who you asked. For example, on our first night, we were told we could take to-go plates for the other adults in our group who were with the children—but when we returned for them, another staff member refused, saying it wasn’t allowed. When checking in, reception had confirmed that taking food back to our room was fine, yet that wasn’t honored. Ordering drinks was also unnecessarily complicated—you had to go to a separate counter to get a receipt and then take it to the bartender to actually get your drink. The all-inclusive food was mediocre, while the restaurant menu (not included) looked far better. When we asked about dining there, we were told we’d have to make reservations (even though it was empty) and pay $10 per person, which only covered a few basic menu items. Within 45 minutes of checking in, we were also approached by a sales team pushing vacation packages, which wasted our time and made the experience feel like a sales pitch instead of a vacation. To top it off, a family member staying in another room had to be moved because their bathroom flooded and their air conditioner was making loud noises all night. Overall, what’s advertised on their social media is not at all what you experience in person. The only redeeming parts of our stay were the bartender at the tiki bar and one kind food server—hence the two stars instead of one.

My stay at the Bahia del Sol was a little bit higher than good. The place has a lot of potential because it has access to both the bay and the ocean. The simple rooms we reserved were very good because it included a living room and a separate bedroom. The restroom I ended up with was a bit small. The service always depends on the people who are doing it. Because we were there in the middle of the week, the workers were less stressed and therefore truly kind. Leo, specifically, always made sure we all we needed at the restaurant. The food was good, some nights better than others. The karaoke after dinner was good; however, they need to include more night activities. One thing that was annoying was the fact that I needed to get a slip from the cashier every time I wanted to get a drink from the bar. I've been to other inclusive resorts where that was not necessary. I recommend this place for those who don't mind walking a bit because the property is long and the water, the sea and the estero are quite a bit apart. It's worth to mention that I felt safe when we were within the property.

LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS!!! ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

If I could give this place ZERO stars, i would. I ended up getting FOOD POISONING!!! Worse thing ever, being away and sick! we arrived Thursday and room was ready until 4pm. We arrived and the music was amazing on the Bahia side. The beach one was dead… not a good environment.

Anyways dj in Bahia said he will be there the whole night. We arrived to have dinner and the dj decided to being his set inside the dining to put the soccer game (copa America). I asked if he was going to come out to our more music and he said “No. We are all set up inside for the soccer game “ which was like 😒 we there to have fun not to sit down and watch soccer games. Anyways the mosquitos were horrible. It was like they are zombie mosquitos ready to suck all of your blood! We put so much mosquito repellent and then itching lotion.

We decided to just jump into the pool 845 since the pool closing 10pm to make sure the mosquitos didn’t get us. Well at 8:55 they came to take us out because they wanted to start cleaning the pool and the area. We complaint and said it was supposed to close 10. They said they wanted to start early and forced us to get out is the pool.

The food is very plain and no flavor. The make your own (pasta/omelette) stations dirty since they mix everything. I regret eating since there were so many flies all over. i was so dehydrated from the food poisoning and needed lots of medicine to recover.

Drinks are not strong at all!! I had margaritas. Bahama. Long Island ice tea. Not strong at all!!!!

The rooms have a weird smell. The water at the sink and shower STINK SO MUCH since there’s a sign “agua no potable” who knows what type of water is it but it stinks so much!!!!! The floors were dirty when we walk in too …. Ugh

I will NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! Stay at a...
