2 quick notes:

Verify everything they are charging you for at checkout is what you actually charged to your room. Someone else changed $33 worth of food to our room. My GF's mom just paid it upon checking out but afterwards when we thought about it we realized there wasn't anything charged to her room. So we went back and asked for a receipt, but were told that they couldn't pull up the receipt nor could they give us a refund. But after asking to speak to the manager the guy at the front desk decided to give us our money back.

We left the hotel a day early because we were all disgusted by how dirty it was and how bad the service was. Water damage throughout the rooms and what looked like mold. Bat poop (or rat poop) in the shower and you could here the bats (or rats) rummaging around and squeaking in the ceiling above our rooms at night. I could keep listing things.

I really wanted to leave a good review because the rest of my time in El Salvador has been amazing. But this hotel is so bad. We booked 2 rooms both with King beds, they ended up giving us one with 2 twin beds instead of a king. The rooms only had 2 tiny towels on the bed. And when we asked for more towels we were told that each room only gets 2 towels. The staff seem to have no direction on what they are doing.

The 1st night we sat down for dinner around 730, waited 20mins for a server before we got up to find a worker and ask for one. The worker brought over another worker that asked if anyone had attended to us yet and when we said no not yet, they both just walked away. And after I did this, 2 other tables of people that had been waiting there longer than us got up to do the same. About 10 mins later someone came and took our drink and food orders. About 30 mins later a different server walked up and asked if we wanted our drinks now or later with our food. We said now please. 20 mins later we stiill didn't have our drinks so I got up to ask for a water from someone else. Our server saw me and looked visibly annoyed that I was getting a water. He then brought out a hamburger someone had ordered, but still no drinks. Then about 10 mins later he brought out our drinks and the rest of our orders. I ordered the chicken with rice and fries. My rice and fries were cold to the touch but I was so hungry I just ate it as is because I didn't want to go through sending my order back and waiting again.

And like I mentioned above, we checked out of both rooms a night early. Not sure how this place is even in business. I would not recommend...

We booked here for a family of 7 people, 4 adults, 2 kids. The place is very nice on the surface, it looks very clean and the decoration is very old, the parking is very large. When we checked in, we were greeted by an unfriendly woman who did not inform us of anything she only gave us the keys and put bracelets on each of us. She did not inform us of any activities or what time the meals were. When we arrived at the rooms, they were not very clean. Tap water is not filtered, it is salt water for bathing and also from the sink which makes it impossible to wash your hair or do your skincare routine because you are washing with salt water. The beds were well made but the sheets did not feel clean, they smelled badly, the TV did not work, there were no towels in the rooms, we asked for towels and they never brought them, thank God we brought our own. When we went to the restaurant area to eat, some of the waiters were very rude, the females waitresses was looking at us up and down and did not want to serve us. We were served by a very polite and respectable male waitress. We had a great experience with his service and the food. The beach is spacious and private, the water is calm, perfect for bathing. At dinner time we were upset because they didn't seat us in a place to watch the show. We couldn't sit in that area because we didn't have a reservation. We didn't know what could be done since no one told us what the activities were at the hotel. The lady who took our order that night was very rude and inpatient and did not write down our order correctly. We ordered cocktails which were disappointing because they didn't taste any alcohol. The drinks were watered down. When we got to our rooms, there were cockroaches everywhere, we could not sleep comfortably. The breakfast was good, except that the eggs needed to be cooked more, they were a little raw and sticky, we went to the infinity pool, my nephews were having fun and one of the security guys came to us and yelled horribly at us for the kids to be quiet, to stop laughing and that it wasn't a pool. for kids and to get out of pool I was shocked because he should never have spoken to us that way and my nephews are 10 years old and they can swim we were there supervising them they were never alone and we paid to be there I don't understand why he was yelling at us and treating us like that such a horrible way we left very upset we will never return to this place and definitely will not recommend this...

Where do I start with this very much needed and negative, unpleasant visit to this HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OF A HOTEL/RESORT?

Let’s start with the fact that I booked a stay at the hotel 3 weeks in advance for 26 people. You would think that if you get a booking of a high number, you would prioritize it no matter what. I was advice that I can check in at 10am. I arrived with my family roughly around 10:45 am, to only be told that we had to wait until 3pm for check in because they had to clean and sanitize the rooms.

We were allowed to have our lunch & enjoy our meals next to the beach and pool. I ordered a double shot tequila sunrise & it was nasty. Nothing by water taste. I asked the waiter for a menu and he promptly advice that lunch was going to be a buffet style. When we received our food, we had a surf & Turf style plate which wasn’t a buffet style lunch. They put together in one plate what they wanted to serve their customers. A few of our members were allergic to seafood.

Around 225pm, I went and asked the Receptionist if our rooms where ready, being that’s e had waited for 4 hours and 15 mins already. They advice that they I had to wait until 3pm to receive my keys.

& this is where the visitation took a turn for the worse.

We received 8 straight rooms, back to back.

The first room we opened had vomit in the bathroom sink that lol evidently wasn’t cleaned. The toilet pressure for all 8 rooms were not working. We had feces swimming around my toilet because the toilets weren’t working. The floors in every room where not swept or mopped, AT ALL!! There were boxers hanging from another room and each room only had 1 or 2 towels. I got tired of the the bad service and the conditions in our rooms. I refused to stay there so I asked for an refund. The receptionist refused to give me full refund and said only 1,090.00 was going to be returned. At the end, I received a full refund but I will NEVER COME TO THIS RESORT OR REFER THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE VISITING LA COSTA DEL SOL. Stay away from...

The place itself is beautiful, offering stunning scenery, though it is a bit pricey. We purchased a day pass for $45 per person, which includes $20 worth of food—fair enough. After lounging for an hour or so, we decided to visit the on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience there was less than stellar. First, there were ants all over the tablecloths. While ants aren’t dangerous, it was disappointing that nothing was done to address it, and the tablecloths were never changed after we ate. On top of that, we waited for about 15-20 minutes before a server came to our table, during which time the staff was gathered in a corner, chatting and using profanity, completely ignoring their duties. When a gentleman finally came to take our order, he was very polite and attentive, so I have no complaints about him. However, the food was the biggest letdown. I ordered a "tĂpico salvadoreño" plate, which included beef, beans, rice, cheese, and avocado. To my surprise, the meal came wrapped in plastic, which I’ve never seen at a resort before. The beans looked like they were microwaved, the avocado was black, and the rice seemed stale. The beef had some flavor, but it wasn't anything special. My friend ordered a hamburger, and it looked like something you'd get at a school cafeteria—definitely not what you'd expect at a resort. There’s definitely room for improvement here. If you’re planning to visit La Costa del Sol, I recommend researching other nearby resorts. There are plenty of options with better food, no time limits, and more reasonable prices

Don’t stay here. The hotel is severely outdated and needs major repair. The bathrooms are old and grimy. The toilet was plugged and there was a rat crawling around the ceiling. We were given a second room and there was a bat (according to the hotel staff) squealing around the ceiling all night. The shower was plugged. We were told that the 2nd room was “remodeled.” We would have left at day one, but we didn’t have any other option. The price per night is way too high. The food options were limited and tasted very bland - good luck having it brought to you on a warm plate. If you eat there, stick to the seafood plates. Once you get tired of this, drive up the road and order some pupusas from the locals for about $1 each. It appears that they spend their money on the new pool area, rather than the actual hotel grounds. We asked to be reimbursed for one night for all of the issues, and they refused. Save your money and find a different place in Costa Del Sol because the beach is stunning.

Stay away from this place if you want to enjoy your vacation. They have terrible service. You have to argue with housekeeping to get basic essentials such as towels only to get old rags with stains. The bathrooms are falling apart, the shower is full of mold and grime. There is no safe or mini fridge in the rooms and we were constantly worried about the safety of our belongings especially our passports. This “resort” is far from having any capacity to host to tourists looking for a place to vacation. I don’t understand how some people can say anything positive about this place. The pool had a light literally hanging by an exposed wire which is extremely dangerous. They told us breakfast was from 7-10:30 and cut us off at 10. They said if it was buffet style but there were no signs of such claim when we got to the eating area. Every meal we had was always cold and took forever to arrive. And let’s not forget to turn in your meal ticket or they won’t serve you.The staff looks miserable, very few are friendly unlike some of the other resorts. We were looking forward to our stay here but there is absolutely no way I would ever come back here.
