Hotel Villa San Miguel — Hotel in Departamento de San Miguel

Despues de hacer una reservacion atravez de su pagina web, recibi un email comfirmando la reservacion de el mismo hotel. Pero me lleve una desagradable sorpresa, cuando al llegar a la recepcion del hotel, la empleada de nuy mala gana me dijo que esa pagina no estaba funcionando y que la reservacion era invalida, encima de no honrar la reservacion, me negaron estadia ya que aparentemente el hotel estaba lleno. Arrived with at online reservation number from their hotel's webpage, only to be told by a very rude receptionist, that their webpage isnt functioning properly and they never got my reservation, I presented the email with the dates and comfirmatiin code they sent me and they didn't even look at it and simply said, they could not honor my reservation and could not accommodate me, as they were full! The rooms in the hotel are somewhat spacious, but the amenities are not great at all. We stayed here during the carnival of San Miguel. The rooms were just plain and OK. We were going to try the pool, but then saw it was extremely dirty and not being maintained at all, so we didn't. Restrooms are OK, and insulation is not that great since you can tell air gets out through the doors. It got pretty hot the next day in the room. The location is great, next to a bakery and perhaps other places of interest, but we were well on our way the next day. I would probably stay at other hotel nearby since this one was north of the city, and likely many others in more central location. We did not try the breakfast because of timing. Comfy hotel, the beds were pretty comfortable as a matter of fact. I just didn’t like the excessive charges for” lost or damaged items” (like $90 for a thin bedsheet).

I fortunately had no issues with this stuff but it opens itself for abuse. Maintenance is so so (actually not bad for Salvadoran standards), broken floor tile, hard water stain on faucets, mini fridge that did not seem to work very well.

Check in was around 2 pm and check out is at 1 pm which is kind of nice. Also the small pool was a nice added bonus.
