This hotel is located in a huge forested property. The park is truly beautiful, and since it's a mountain location, has wonderfult sights of the valleys and other mountains. There are trails you can walk, and some facilities like a pool, tennis and basketball courts, and soccer fields located through it. Also two cafeterias, that seemed independently owned, one with real food, and other with junk food. Weird. But Definitively the park is the star of a trip here. ||||The problem, as is mentioned frequently, is that the rooms are in need of an upgrade, as they are small, and beds are unconfortable. Pillows are a joke, ours were completely deformed by use. Rooms have cable TV, and a basic bathroom. Don't expect WiFi. ||||Hotel Restaurant is so-so, expensive for what you get, functions better as a bar I think. There is another pool at the hotel building that is nice. Odd enough, you see a lot of peacock birds roaming around freely, which is cute, and kids like it. Regular hotel, nothing more, not overpriced, not cheap. ||||We found out you can access the park for a small fee, and enjoy all it's beauty and facilities (i.e. pools and trails) without having to sleep at the hotel, which I think is the best deal if you sleep at San Salvador and drive there early (like 1.5 hours). The bottom line is that the park is really great and worth visiting. If you like it enough to enjoy dusk and dawn there, stay at the hotel too. It won't hurt, but think of it as part of the adventure, and don't expect too much....
Read moreMy family and I visited this place 7 years ago. We even stayed for two days. The place and customers service was pleasant back then, because of that reason we decided to visit the place today. But, unfortunately we had the worst customer service experience in their new restaurant the Nacho. A male waitress was super rude to us. Out of no where he yelled at us saying that the customers were offended by the dog being around the table. And that we needed to stop petting the dog, he yelled at us. First of all I am against animal cruelty. Second we thought that the dog belong to the place Entre Pinos. We did not know that dog was a stray dog in the first place. We do not mind animals nears us when we eat it’s part of the Salvadorian culture. Even that place has hens, rabbits, and peacocks walking around freely anyone can mistake the dogs to be part of their animals too. There was no reason for that waitress to yelled at us and be really disrespectful to us we are customers too. After that accident the food tastes bitter, salty and we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. We felt discriminated, offended and that waitress never had then nerves to explain to us that that dog did not belong to the place. But kindly another young woman explain to us and tried to undo the waitress actions. Would my family and I come back to this place no. If you are an animal lover and you are against animal abuse do not...
Read moreWhen we arrived at Hotel Entre Pinos, we looked at several different rooms before choosing which one we wanted. They were all in need of updating and only had twin or double beds. We wanted a queen sized bed for our romantic getaway, but ended up sleeping in two twin beds. The beds had new, pillowtop mattresses, but the bedding was outdated and the pillows were hard and lumpy. The headboards were 80's style, mirrored headboards and all the rooms had tiny 15-inch televisions. The food at the hotel restaurant was absolutely horrible. The night we arrived I had by far the worst hamburger and cheesecake I've ever eaten. The hamburger was dry and very salty, and the cheesecake was closer to rubbery flan than cheesecake. The next morning I ordered eggs benedict for breakfast and they were served on a hamburger bun instead of an english muffin and were covered in a thick mustard sauce instead of Hollandaise sauce. Aside from the rooms and the food, the scenery was beautiful, the pool was clean (although it was too cold for us to swim in it) and hammocks were plentiful. Horses could be rented for only $6.85 an hour and full-body massages were offered for only $15. You can also take a walk over the 110-acre grounds. Our trip was relaxing and it was the nicest hotel in the area, but it is over-priced for...
