The BEST hostel with the best vibe. It may not be the most organized hostel, but it will be the most fun and entertaining hostel you will stay at in El Salvador. From meeting strangers that quickly became like family, the friendly and generous staff and locals, and the overall atmosphere created here by everyone here, made this place a real gem. I planned to stay for only 3 days and instead stayed for 2 weeks.
While you’re here, be sure to eat at Pupuseria La Rumba. It’s right around the corner and I may have eaten there a good 8-9 times. The closest grocery store is a 10 minute walk, and yes, there is a kitchen to cook in at the hostel. The bathrooms are ok. I did shower with a cockroach a couple times, we are friends now. Definitely not enough outlets in the rooms. Motorbike rentals for $15/day. Plenty of places to sleep in the hostel. If they overbooked, then you can always sleep in a tent. If the tents are overbooked, you can sleep on the couch. And if all the couches are full then just squeeze into bed with someone else.
Overall, great place where there’s something interesting going on every day, great people that I will never forget, and wonderful memories that I’ll...
Read moreCould not recommend more. This hostel is everything you could ever want for a wonderful and authentic experience of Santa Ana. Run by 3 local guys, Koki, Chico and Mario who do everything to make you feel welcomed and at home in their city. We set up base here and then went on various day trips to the volcano, route de Flores towns, the lake, natural hot springs and more. Koki helps you organise things and shares the best routes - getting around is so easy and cheap on the chicken buses. The hostel was clean, the kitchen had lots of utensils and the outside / bar area was lovely and rustic. It’s very spacious, there’s even a more private garden and rooftop too. We were only meant to be there a couple of nights but kept extending purely because of the guys that ran it. They were kind, relaxed, beyond helpful and went out of their way to make our time there more enjoyable. They took us out with them and also hosted parties at the hostel which was a great way to meet the local people and learn more about the amazing country of El Salvador - it’s bursting with flavour and completely misunderstood. Thank you again Koki, Chico and Mario for the best time and if you’re reading this,...
Read moreThe best hostel I've stayed during my Central America trip! I've stayed in the private dorm, with a/c, fan, big bed, spacious room, nice big bathroom. The atmosphere in the hostel is very cozy, it has a large communal garden with bar and friendly volunteers. There is a nice mixture of locals and backpackers. The owner and manager are the best!! They help you with anything you need and are always around. They took us to beautiful places and even brought us all the way too El Zonte when it was to dark to go by buss. Highly recommend and they rent scooters for a great price! Thankyou again for the...
