This is our story: we are on a road trip for a month traveling around Europe. This was the worth place we have been to. I went into reception asking if they have any room available and i was told they are fully booked. Few minutes later I found that they do have availability on hotels.com. As we have been very tired after a long drive I went ahead and booked it. Than I went back to reception with my confirmation email about the booking. The lady on the reception started to shout at me that she has told me they don't have any rooms available! At that moment her colleague came out, who has somehow found a room on the system. No apologies offered. The state of the room was absolutely terrible. The bed was clean, but falling apart, otherwise there was no clean surface in the room. Coffee/drink stains on the wall, on the bin, on the table, and we found dried mustard stain on the curtain. Window roller blinds not working, there was water damage all over the furniture, but the carpet was the most discussting in the room covered with all sort of things. I felt uncomfortable to take my shoes off. Bathroom facilities in the end of the corridor, which wouldn't be a problem at all if they were clean. I checked all six toilets on our floor, there was no toilet paper in any of them, so went down to reception where i found the rude lady talking on her phone and after she spotted me she igonered me and went to back office. Than her colleague came again she gave me a roll of toilet paper. Out of those six toilets only two were kind of clean. The showers were usable, nice hot water, good pressure, but shower fittings very rusty, wall moldy. On our visit there was a couch full of kids staying the hostel. They have been behaving, but keeping us up until midnight as there is no sound proofing at all. So as a short summery...
Read moreI stayed for 3 nights and will spend a night in jail rather than stay here. I understand that hostels are cheap for a reason but this place was just awful. Some of the problems can be fixed by administration and staff but then there's things that are just beyond repair. Pros: -Cheap. -Helpful staff (despite language barriers) -Staff speaks fluent russian. -Free wifi. -Clean sheets. -TV in the room (8" CRT TV on a wall mount above the door). Cons: -The place is in the middle of industrial area so the outside smells like chemicals(probably burning rubber so keep those windows shut). -And since it's right next to some factory, the view from the room was just a gas station and industrial area. -The staff (or bus drivers, cashiers etc.) doesn't speak much english so most communications have to be google translated to sign language if your russian/estonian isn't great. -Corridor, stairway and rooms all smelt different. Room smelled like strong perfume, stairway smelled like something bad, corridors smelled like old cheese. -The place isn't wheelchair accessible. -Men's toilets didn't have soap or towels. One toilet had vomit stained on floor and walls (Wasn't cleaned off during stay, was probably older than time). Other toilet had one stall sealed off and there wasn't enough light. -Rooms aren't soundproof. -Room furniture was dirty and dented. Day-time curtains couldn't be moved and had holes & stains in them. Blackout curtains were broken. -Kitchen was dirty, mouldy and for cooking there was only utensils, a large pot and cast-iron frying pan. Misc. -Spider in the room, didn't look poisonous or aggressive and I'm cool...
Read moreBus 100 is the best, from mustakivi stop(Laasnamäe) Laagna tie where Mcdonalds is only 12 minutes busride. With Uhiskaart loaded just 1,28 for busride with bus 100. Hot shower . BUT seems like in the week russianspeeking lorrydrivers "take over" the place, from Friday it was a much calmer place. So weekends recommended, not workingdays. Bring your own drinking water do not wash your teeth in the tap water. In the same building (backside)there is a gas station and a little shop where you can buy water, coffee.. Also bring your own pot or kettle, there is a kitchen but . When you jump off the bus air smells terrible, but inside hostel there is no smell. Younger receptionist speaks english and very helpful, older no english. Wifi works from room. Parking free. Area Industrial, lorrypark. Bus stops(Kroodi) very...
