Once upon a time a dutch antique dealer who met an estonian lady active in hospitality business. They bought this house, formerly a school and a watchstation for coastguards on the Lake Peipsi, facing the Russian Bear on the other side of the Lake.... They together transformed and furnished the building to create this hidden gem in a beautiful and non touristic landscape.||You won't go there to "spend a night". But go to share. To share the feeling of local history in this magical house, were you also find real comfort (good beds and up-to-date showers). To share discussions with the owner who will be happy to introduce you to his passion for antiques as well as for this lost part of the world he wishes to stay undiscovered for decades... To share contact with nature sitting on the shore of or bathing in the Peipsi Lake, your only companions will be some local families hundreds of meters away barbecuing on the beach or walking into the water. To share finally the quiet, charming and welcoming life of the 5 kilometers away vilage of Alatskivi (Nina is a real small place with just some houses along the Lake). There, you can eat at the Kivi Körts, the small restaurant also owned by the dutch-estonian couple.||We spend 2 nights there. I could have stayed much longer and would have forgotten what the occidental world is made of. Here, life is nothing else than a gentle flow of time among people within...
Read moreWe were looking for something different , off the beaten track, and we found this lovely little guest house on the shore of lake peipsi.||As long as you know why you are going there, you won't be disappointed.||The welcome was warm and sincere, irina the hotel busy body was not only amazing with our little boy, but also prepared an awesome breakfast.||Johanes the owner was delightful company and took the time to stop and have a chat, balancinghis time between different endevours.||This place is the perfect base camp for discovering lake peipsi , but going without a car would be quite challenging ( probably the reason why it's still a hidden gem ).||We really enjoyed the calm , the lovely walks around the lake and the old believers villages. The down side is the fact that (outside of the touristic season ) the restaurants in the area close at 18:00 and the omni presence of mosquitos ( nothing that deet can't handle ).thanks for the great stay and...

The bedrooms and common rooms all feature nice antique furniture. The owner is an antiques dealer and a lot of the pieces are available for sale. |The other staff were also all very friendly and helpful. |The common room has a pool table which is nice for evening entertainment. It also has a full kitchen which you can use to prepare your own dinners or you can BBQ outside.|During the day you can take the boats and kayaks out to explore the lake. |Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend to anyone who likes peace and quiet in a remote setting with...
