Pidula Forell — Hotel in Saaremaa vald

At Pidula Forell's al fresco restaurant you can select - even catch - the trout that you want to eat ("forell" is Estonian for "trout"), walk it over to the outdoor kitchen, and watch the chef gut it and grill it. Each half of the trout from head to tail comes with a tasty paste slathered on top. ||Three other adults and I devoured one fish; I loved the restaurant's garlic topping on one half and found the onion and mayonnaise topping on the other better than expected. Adjika was another topping option. We each ordered a side of salad and fried potatoes, perfectly complementing the trout, which, unbelievably, was as meaty as salmon steaks. ||Don't worry about the weather; there's a large tent to keep dining guests dry. Pidula Wakepart, offering zipline water skiing, is a 30-second walk away, and there's a flock of alpacas close-by as well as the accommodations...

What a great place to go for a meal. And what a meal it was !!! You can go fishing and what you get they will smoke or grill for you. They charge by the kilo. It's a bit expensive but so worth it as you get so much out of it. We tried fishing for half an hour but caught nothing so we just asked the staff and they took one out with the net. 2.3 kg and it was big enough for 4 ppl. We just had fish but you can add potatoes and veg to it and if someone doesn't like fish there are other options also. All so good !!! It has a beautiful little lake and also there is camping. You can book them for 2 or 4 or even more. I've stayed there twice couple of years ago with different people and all of them loved it. So if you ever in Saaremaa go there...

Beds (bedsprings loose etc) are from last century as is everything inside. All outdated from 1999. We even decided use shower in our next hotel - not there.

0 internet as it is in internet black hole. Breakfast is 8.5 eur per person - you get porridge and eggs for 8.5 eur basically. You are not allowed to grill because they want to sell their fish, where they can seriously overcharge you.

Do not recommend. They cheat with "nice website and pictures". The place is meant for children camping.

As they charge and pretend to be like hotel - 102 eur including breakfast - I am going to rate...
