Rocca Apartments — Hotel in Tallinn

Pros (just to keep it balanced): Close to supermarket with take-out restaurant

good water pressure in shower

ok satellite-TV

ok storage space

multiple electrical outlets

Cons (trust me, it REALLY is this bad): 3 out of 3 fire alarms didn't work (the red light that should flash to indicate that it works never flashed)

Mold/mildew in the shower (smells bad when wet), shower floor covered in sand and something yellow/sticky

Dirty toilet (stains from urine and faeces), no sink/basin i bathroom

Mold in refrigerator, dirty microwave, dirty glasses/cups/plates/cutlery - looks like something from a yard sale

EVERY surface dirty, bought alcohol wipes and cleaned everything ourselves, every wipe came out BLACK/DARK

Bed linen and towels didn't smell of laundry detergent, probably just washed in water, smelled pretty bad after one day

Dirty floors, spider webs all along ceilings/walls

Extra bed linen for sofa bed looks like something from a yard sale (we bought new linen in the supermarket)

Huge risk of getting bed bugs if any guest should ever bring it with them!

Overall old and run down (exept for some newer furniture), think Soviet 70s style, info in russian or estonian, cash only, a few broken windows in the building, patches of the house facade have fallen away (you get the picture...) - the displayed pictures must be old as they do not match the reality

I have reported the hotel to the Health Board of Estonia. See all the numerous reviews on booking.com detailing the same...

Unfortunately unacceptably dirty in hotel room along with low standards. I do not have high standards but it did not feel comfortable due to low cleanliness.There were dust bunnies under the beds, stains on every wall, button and even ceiling. Spiders in bathroom, and shower head was held together with tape... Refrigerator was loud, condenser going on every 10 minutes which made it hard to sleep. You could hear the other guests coughing and doing "personal business" in rooms adjacent to ours. Along with this the location is far from the center, 8kms, so it is necessary to take bus. At least there is a well stocked supermarket nearby and a bus station. Positives: water kettle , refrigerator, toaster & microwave in room. Cutlery, cups etc available. If the cleanliness of the rooms was higher then maybe a 3/5 but even then thats stretching it. There are other loads of other issues such as only being able to pick up keys via meetup, old standards of interior, low quality beds ( of course i dont expect luxury but the beds we slepts in you could literally feel the springs pushing on your back), bad ventilation & smell .. also the shower drain did not work correctly, causing water to overflow almost into the living room if...

Навигатор упорно не хотел находить это здание... Никакой большой вывески на здании нет, и после долгих плутаний мы нашли его. Это оказалось желтое 3х этажное здание на развилке между трассой и оживленной дорогой, с маленькой надписью на двери. При входе в нос бьет запах сырости и узкая лестница ведет на второй этаж, нигде никого нет, из большого хола коридоры с открытими комнатами и никого... Пошли еще на этаж выше, в одной из комнат были люди и мы спросили про хозяниня, они сказали ждите. Около получаса мы ждали пока не поя\вился хозяин, он отвел нас в апартаменты, взял деньги,сказал при выезде оставить ключи в дверях и поспешно удалился... Окна апартаментов выходили на трасу из-за чего постоянно был слышан шум машин. Но это оказалось не самое страшное... После длительной прогулки по Таллину, мы вернулись в апартаменты около 23:00. Изрядно уставши, решили ложиться спать... Проснувшись в 2 часа они от "дикого ржача" и громких разговоров за стеной. Было очень хорошо слышно каждое слово, и уснуть в таком шуме было невозможно. Мы пошли к соседям которые шумели, ими оказась эстонская молодежь, они не понимали (или делали вид) наши просьбы по-английски и быстро захлопнули дверь перед нами, больше на стук не открывали, продолжали еще громче разговаривать и смеяться. Мы решили поискать хозяина, но на дверях в комнатах не было надписей, а ломиться во все двери мы не стали... Молодежь улеглась спать около 6 утра, а мы так и не выспавшись в 7 утра поехали дальше на осмотр достопримечательностей... ||Вывод: хотите нормальный отдых - выбирайте...
