Go to Sibebe Resort to enjoy the view… if you can. ||||I have heard about this place a lot through social media and finally made the long, long trek up the mountain to visit. What a mistake.||||The buildings are somehow both under construction and already dilapidated. How they managed this is beyond my knowledge, but there are wires all over the badly built terraces that don’t inspire any confidence in their stability. The build quality of the place as a whole makes me think that building supply centre had a closing down sale and they built this place with whatever they can find. Strips of cheap artificial turf sloppily thrown down in keeping with the ethos of the whole resort… ‘that will do’. ||||The ‘resort’ was as badly managed as you can imagine. Every table that was near us had a complaint of some kind, and they were not listened to by the rude and aggressive manager. Seeing this, we decided not to complain as well. On top of the resort management, the customers were not managed at all and the whole place is a free for all. There is no way that you can enjoy the view, with so much loud shouting, loud music being played and aggressive customers. Added to this is the constant loud drone of quad bikes setting off from the resort and it was impossible to enjoy or even acknowledge the view. ||||I came with children and it was uncomfortable from start to finish. We had to move out of the main restaurant because of the inappropriate music videos and loud music on every wall. I suppose we were partly to blame because the advertising made it look like a nice place to take your family for a relaxed day with a beautiful view. I can’t stress enough how much this is not the case. ||||We waited over an hour for some sandwiches (after being told that half the food we ordered was not available… 15 minutes after ordering) but this was fine as the terribly designed menus from ‘Molly’s house of Grills’ had us expecting “a taste of greatness” so this was sure to be worth the wait. I’m sure that if I was to review the food fully, I would run out of characters on this review, but every single item was either not as ordered or borderline inedible. Credit where it’s due, the food was cheap, but so it really should be. Cheese slices in a cheese toastie shows the level of cuisine son offer at this abomination of a ‘restaurant’. I could go in, but all I will say is to not eat here, ever. Please. ||||The awful food aside, we were not sure what we were paying E30 for, use of the pool? This was too crowded for anyone to enjoy. The view? We were unable to enjoy it at all. ||||The best thing they could do with this place is to tear it down and restore it to its former beauty. It is a black mark on the beautiful countryside...
Read moreSibebe has potential of being something great, it’s at a very peaceful and beautiful location. Great potential of being a great escape for a nature love like myself if the amenities are improved to make the stay more pleasant, until then I’ll keep my rating as is.
The staff is friendly , the infinity pool looks good but it really needs better maintenance. There’s algae on some part of the pool, making it very slippery and not exactly safe to swim in. The rooms are very basic, the quality is very disappointing and way too expensive for what you get.
The room we stayed in had an annoyingly damp smell, I think they need to tend to better ventilating the rooms, to avoid this since it’s situated on a mountain top.
The restaurant needs a lot of improvement especially on the inside. Breakfast needs improvement . Supper was okay… Almost everything that’s on the menu was not in stock, honestly you get tired of hearing the word “kute”, it gets frustrating even for the staff…
Overall I enjoyed the mountaintop views and I loved waking up to rabbits and bucks on our doorstep. Will I be going back to sleep at Sibebe? Only when they improve all the things mentioned above. I would go back as a day visitor for now.
More signage’s showing where the resort is would be great, to make it easier when travelling at night especially for...
